I’m in Indiana and was surprised to see there are some close to me! I want to learn a lot I can use in my mutual aid org I started to help teach oppressed, under privelaged and working class people urban and rural farming techniques and how to use it to get by and be sustainable at the same time.
Cool video, Anna! When I was living in NZ around 2005-10, I knew WWOOF'ing to stand for Willing Workers On Organic Farms. World Wide Opportunities, is maybe better! :)
Thank you Chris, happy you liked it! Yes, I believe they changed the acronym a couple years back but both are still being used quite commonly! Woofing in NZ sounds amazing. Hope I get to visit someday!
Am a very hardworking female an very determine an i do some farming in Jamaica.i like what I hear.what if I would like to give wwoof a try how would I get started
Are people who are unhoused or homeless allowed? I’ve joined the charter and paid my money and got the insurance. I want to learn skills and see America. I am homeless but by choice. If I wanted to I could barely scratch by in a standard sticks and bricks. I’d rather keep that money and use it to help others and the earth. I’m just worried I will be looked at different. Is it like other mission work where it’s just trust fund kids who care more for the vacation aspect and resume building. I’m already an outcast I don’t want to go to do this and end up bunking with a bunch of super rich kids who think I’m scum or something. Also is it seen as weird to only do it in the country your from? I don’t want to leave the states for now but do want to travel all over the states.
Wooow excelente información este año me apuntó en ser voluntario en Wwooffer, gracias Anna, la verdad es que es una excelente forma de conocer gente nueva y haciendo lo que más me gusta agricultura y también salir de la zona de confort grande Anna......
Yay! My home! Lots to learn here in terms of wine-making and the challenges that today's producers face. Wine has such an incredible history and volunteering on a wwoofing farm would be such a good intro to that art 🇫🇷 Hope I get to see Napa one day too!
Where would you first like to try wwoofing?
In Israel :)
New Zealand:)
Hawaii and Japan
Namibia
