PSA: rate of fire is NOT the same as construct rate of fire! it only affects the fire rate of YOUR weapon, not constructs'. However, if you get interceptor allies that fire YOUR weapon, it does benefit them. So, when Tyler had overseer, which prevents him from firing his weapon, getting those double-taps was absolutely useless
@@deferentzulu9265 One of the things I like about Tyler is that he always reads criticising and advices comments and takes it like a champ that he is. He got stronger every time he got beaten. Absolute chad.
I've actually been looking forward to this after the first time. it's a pretty cool concept to have three main parts that you upgrade and can change which allows for a multitude of builds with even more upgrades
For the Double Tap wild mod (and others): Most mods that affect your weapon stats do _not_ transfer over to your constructs unless other wise specified. For a construct build to benefit from your weapon, you need a specific mod to _give your weapon to your allies_ which is pretty gosh darn cool and synergies well with the Overseer mod.
more llike specific upgrade path for allies, also loaded mines, constructs(except mines) unlike weapons have some form of scaling by level so you're just getting overclock, apex machinery and all contructs you can. Also with all the contructs there's no much levels to upgrade your weapon properly so just get guardians and camp near a turret
Hoping for either nova drift or vampire survivors tonight, your vids often turn around a crummy day. Thanks for the entertainment night after night. Also the support you get from dedicated fans to casual viewers is well deserved, keep up the great work Tyler!
There's an option called "speedrun mode" which shows the current time and wave in the bottom left of the screen at all times, which is useful to know how close you are to a boss, among other things.
So anything that affects weapons damage does not affect your drones, with the exception of the ally, cause be can get an upgrade that allows him to fire your weapon with all your upgrades.
@@wdeltag My personal favourites are singular strike spectre, and barrage with siege+calibrate super mod assault (or engineer with wingman interceptors). Ones an unreasonable powerful individual projectile, and the other is just stupidly fast firing for how strong it can be.
@@zarnox3071 my latest railgun run was built by going assault, charged Mines, AM rounds, and singular strike. Over 1.1k dmg per uncharged unbuffed railgun shot, got to the 100+ area

What a time for you to play right after the latest update which increased the dificulty with the new enemies & added the gradual zooming out; you're doing great, no doubt you'll be able to reach a million soon! You can check the "tags" of the mods on the bottom to figure what they affect in general, but in their description some also specify if they only affect stuff like your weapon (fired by you and/or your Ally/Mine) or constructs (basic & advanced which can use your shield), thought there are some specific cases where a combo of mods work, kinda or not at all. Burst fire is mechanic that makes you shot X amounts of times quickly, but you have to wait longer to shoot, for example, if you fire once every sec, having +1 burst fire makes you shoot twice very quickly every 2 seconds (Doesn't affect your constructs)
I've been watching your uploads daily for at least 2 years, and I definitely think this game should become a series! Also, you might want to check out some Zachtronics games... I think you'd really enjoy the "optimize your solution" aspect in almost every game. My personal favorites are EXAPUNKS, SpaceChem, SHENZHEN I/O, and Opus Magnum. Each has a story and some of the best puzzles of any games I've ever played!
I think you misinterpreted how the Gemini Protocol upgrade works (dividing damage between your constructs hull and shield). It wont prevent you from dying until your drones die, it will just help ensure that the shield is always active on drones until they die. From what I can tell this doesn't really work because all of the drones share one shield bar, so unless I'm misinterpreting it's either a bugged upgrade or just pretty terrible in general.
Here is a tip: Shockwave is a really good shield, especially with drones and the upgrade putting your shield on constructs. Being able to push projectiles out of your way is just good in general.
You kinda misunderstood the split damage between hull and shields upgrade - it doesn't split it between your hull and construct shields but between: - your hull and your shields if you have a shield - construct hull and construct shields if your constructs have a shield.
It’s good to see you playing this! If you really want something overpowered, one of the best endgame builds is the worm with full hp, regen, armor, and then just crash into everything
Try going for super-mod builds, they are all very fun. Also, ally has some additional specialization trees, like drones do, and they are very intresting. Guardian specialisation would probably made this run at least twice as as strong
Double tap only works on your weapon, or on things using your weapon, but not the attacks of things that have their own attacks. This is the same for weapon damage
Incredible video, bought the game after the last video, and by far my favorite build I've made is a "snake" by using a melee-focused leviathan build. Blink is what made that build.
As others have already pointed out, double tap doesn't affect constructs, but one more thing to note is that it doesn't even double your damage, because along with bigger bursts, it increases the cooldown accordingly.
Something you might have figured out already. There is an upgrade for your ally that gives it a copy of your ship weapon. This allow your weapon upgrades to still be useful even if you have the overseer upgrade since weapon upgrades still apply to the ally.
You are forced to go assault ally and imo defense ally is better because of ability to repair turrets which are bonkers late game, besides you can use mortar super mod
i've never heard of this game before; I don't know if you open every video like that, but the utterly casual way you called it a "crackhead power fantasy" had me ROLLING
My best run so far in this game was a drone build using the stealth body. Stealth isn't broken by deploying constructs, so once I got my drones advanced enough to have a formation that doesn't follow me I was able to just pump out drones, turrets, and allies, all without ever leaving stealth, so enemies would never target me.
I was just about to talk about railgun, I think you'll quićkly realize how versatile it is across a huge amount of builds. My favourite weapon for sure.
Just completed an Architect body type run with mines and rocket salvo. Increase projectiles, targeting, and blast damage. Get the mod that causes your mines to fire your weapon type when they explode. No need to fire your main weapon except on elite and champion enemies. By that time you will have amassed a huge amount of rockets to take them down quickly.
I've been playing this and I think the Halo shield is by far the best one, and the grenade and pulse weapons are pretty good with it. I've also noticed that the railgun isn't that good unless you're moving really fast in the direction you're shooting, but in that case it's better to use the thermal lance and hull breaker
railgun is actually quite good with burst fire, twin strike, volley, etc. and then you get warp strike and its the most ridiculous thing in the game. I would suggest looking at a railgun build lol.
The cloak hull missile build is insane to. Stay invisible as long as you load up your forever rising array of missiles, then just blast the whole screen away with one shot
I found Mines are terrifyingly effective, but you have to turn off autodeploy, with the minefield upgrade, you spit out you're entire mine limit (if you give it time to build up a bank of mines) when you press the button, it does crazy crazy burst damage. Its a really fun and challenging build to play as well because the deploy behind you, so if they're you're primary DPS, you gotta 180 deploy and escape, you really gotta learn that drift. Also you're ally wasn't autodeploying, you needed to press the button to deploy him, which I'm pretty sure you have bound to "4"
one thing about burst fire, it actually decreases your fire rate (rather it fires x amount of shots at once, then you wait the cooldown of those shots). this is the reason the double tap mod gives fire rate (as to not make picking it so painful)
Will you continue posting Nova Drift after the sponsorship ? I do actually enjoy watching you play this game ,it is an interesting and cool concept and it looks like there are a lot of synergies to discover
projectile count and weapon damage modifiers do not effect your drone's damage output, try finding upgrades that use the term 'global damage' and you can increase their damage.
ally can get disgustingly OP especially with the ship that doubles your base construct limit, there is a build that uses 4 interceptors (upgraded ally) to absolutely spam your weapon attack down range
BTW Ally is really good, it heals constructs and deals good damage, it has 2 upgrades(like Drones) where one is a guardian(my personal fav out of the 2) which heals more, redirects shots and is more tanky or the other shoots ur weapon, shoots faster and deals more damage. Its good to heal up yourself and turrets!
I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but you were mentioning your slow speed in the video. Overseer reduces your thrust% by twice your construct cap, so when you get something like mines or ally, it'll decrease your speed even more.
I'll be honest youre last vid on this game made me insta-buy it, so thanks! Ice gotten as high as 1.6 mil with Volatile Sheilds on Blades weapon, really fun!

Every mod has a list of keywords below its description, which will tell you what they affect or what they count as for the purpose of other mods. For example, Double Tap says Weapons, which means it'll affect your weapon gear and anything that keys to your weapon gear (mostly loaded mines and one of the ally trees), but not drones. You may also want to check the settings for the speed runner mode, which adds some useful information to the screen, but doesn't change anything else. There are also auto-deploy toggles for each of the construct types, which may be helpful if you want to stockpile a construct for some reason.
Hi! Love seing you figure out Nova Drift! So, a bit of uncommon advise: exp and scorepoints drop physically when enemies die. They are star-like bits that float in space (not the background) and you have to be relatively near them so they gravitate towards you. There is also a super mod that gives you more attraction, (idk how much spoiler this is, but i doubt its easy to just come across it) its called Ataraxia and you need 4 level upgrades stockpiled (and its only a chance you see it, so...)
26:23 I think the best strat for formations would probably be switching between them all depending on what the situation calls for. For example, if you're getting bombarded with projectiles at low health, it might be better to have them in default formation to protect you (especially having picked up the reflector shield) and quickly switching them back to another formation when you feel safer to get more damage in. (Maybe Persuit form to send them in while you flee, and the V formation when you have a clear shot at the enemy)
If you want really big swarms go for the hull only route, take the Vital Bond supermod and the wild mod that spawns new swarm members whenever an enemy dies. ;-)

I got it with something similar to here, I think I went: Drones first Ally and hull regen second Speced drones into defense, with Ally I think I went interceptor Once ally could shoot my projectiles I started specing into targeting and anything that increases the projectile count then I went for turrets and grenades after I had everything else I wanted. I think it was all with the engineer, rockets as my weapon. That build was absolutely nutty! Edit: I think I also did passive shield regen, pretty important when it comes down to it!
You can learn more about nova drift from the videos that Ultra C makes since they do a lot of builds in nova drift and if you're going for drones, you can look at their fleet builds. PS: If the mod says that it affects constructs, then you take it
In this game you can take mods that will literally give you nothing. So if you cant fire your weapons than anything that is exclusive for weapons will do nothing. Unless something specifically says it's for constructs or global than it won't effect constructs. Basically you can just assume anything that doesn't say it's for something that's not a weapon will just effect your weapon. Also each type of construct has its own limit so the amount of turrets, allies, drones, and swarm drones that are spawned with the fleet carriers ability do not block each other. Doubling your construct limit double every category individually
True but how th ehell do you build Salvo, asking for advice. It is my second least fav weapon cause its so hard to buff and actually feel satisfied with it. But man screw grenade

I think it was all with the engineer, rockets as my weapon.
That build was absolutely nutty!
Edit: I think I also did passive shield regen, pretty important when it comes down to it!
this finally convinced me to buy the game through your link. I think I played a demo way back on itch or something, but it seems better now.
You can learn more about nova drift from the videos that Ultra C makes since they do a lot of builds in nova drift and if you're going for drones, you can look at their fleet builds.
PS: If the mod says that it affects constructs, then you take it
Actually got the game after your first video, very fun
Great video! Please upload more nova drift!
Love watching you own at these games
"You went full drone man. Never go full reta- uhhhh, I mean drone.."
I played this game a lot a while back, totally should play it again since there has been many updates.
Asteroids update looking good
you should DEFINITELY play the binding of isaac. it's like this game in that every upgrade synergises with everything else. super fun
FINALLY! NOVA DRIP UPLOAD!
I would recommend Salvo next. It's fun and can scale pretty high with the right choices and luck.
True but how th ehell do you build Salvo, asking for advice. It is my second least fav weapon cause its so hard to buff and actually feel satisfied with it.
But man screw grenade
Yoooo awesome to see more of this
Your level of entertainment is always on point for any type of game.
I'd love to see u experiment with playing Dying Light 2. It would bring a new level of variety and fun for the channel!
YESSS MORE NOVA DRIFT 🙌
Yesss I was hoping this game would return!!
Those kamikaze enemies are pretty tough to kill and deal massive damage to you if you don't have shield on your ship
“A crackhead power fantasy game set in space”
Yeah that pretty much sums it up
You got me to pick up the game first playthrough. (Unfortuantely, it controls jankily on trackpad, but still been having fun on mouse.)
Enjoying the content. This game reminds me of geometry wars and I had a lot of fun with that game so I'll definetly check out nova drift
