*Not a Spoiler* What I think the lady meant with what she said is that "with great power, comes great responsibility", so if someone successfully manifest a mark it would also mean that he also has the responsibility to offer his life in to making sure they end the tyranny of the demons.
The master told Tanjiro to send regards to Tamayo during Season 1 finale but Tanjiro clearly didn't do that. xD So he knew of her and her general location! The Master also knew of Muzan! That means he was probably watching Tanjiro the whole time. Gyu was probably sent to that mountain in the beginning of the story by the master. The master probably knew that Muzan was targeting families that praise the Sun/Fire god! I don't think he knew that Tanjiro's family happened to be "The family" who had learned the Fire Breathing from Yoriichi and turned it into a Dance. He probably had Tanjiro followed and monitored because his sister was unique as a Demon!

I'm not gonna lie I was a little disappointed with the way this was aired, because this episode was put on the end of a movie that was a hour and a half of 90% recap that aired in theaters. To be fair I probably could've found that out if I did my research but a couple of friends and I went to see it anyway and got straight played walking out that theater lol, but ay ep 2 and on I was told is gonna be amazing.
Gyomei Himejima is by far my favorite Demon Slayer! The man is a MAN! I won't say anything more except! Carve your resolve in stone and harden your spirit!
He made them misunderstood him, Sanemi and I bet Iguro maybe even Gyomie doesn't like him much because he sounds cocky when talking to them like he's looking down at them, he doesn't make an effort to be close to everyone. Even Shinubo the only Hashira who still understands him, questioned his actions. Sanemi is one of the Hashira who is very serious of his job, so he have the reason of not liking Giyu. Giyu is depressed because of Sabito, but he also have to think that Sanemi lost his siblings and killed his demon mom, About what happened to Iguro, Gyomie and Tengen but they didn't became depressed. So even me, I'll call him emo boy, He's cool but I don't really like him 😅

Just get in before the arguments about what hashira is strongest. It goes: stone, then all other hashira are the same strength, there is no difference between them.

Hell nah nobody could win against um6 cuz they all would get poisoned by just a scratch and they don't have any poison resistantce like tengen...if you think tengen and rengoku weren't strong cuz they didn't put up much fight than others you're wrong ...at base level every hashira is at same strength I would say except gyomei and shinobu..but with marked ones they all faced different kind of demons...think again all the hashiras we know are particularly special for smth(rengoku-attack,tengen-defence,Sanemi-offence,muichiro-evading,mitsuri-deflecting,Obanai- precision , giyu- all rounder type😅, gyomei- brute strength, shinobu- poison ...if you see most of the hashiras covers each other's weaknesses by their skills ..everyone got perfect matched demons for them...Gyomei could handle um1,um2(depending on what kind of blood demon art he uses),um3,um5 ,gyomei maybe the strongest but even he can't solo um4 and um6 due to them having multiple bodies..now sanemis perfect match um1,um3,um5(remember sanemi uses wind attack so it won't work much on um2), I just gave 2 hashiras example that goes to everyone ...not every hashira can match up against every demon
Something to keep in mind with this arc, this is very much the calm before the storm. LOTS of character development and if they do this season like I hope they do, the cliff hanger will be BRUTAL. Enjoy the calm while it lasts, it’ll be all gas after this season!

There is definitely a clear power gap among the rest. A certain hashira without the mark was doing better than a few hashiras with the mark.
