Is it possible to soften your audio? It comes on a bit sharp and immediate. Good advanced content giving more formal usage which can be perplexing

Thanks for this lesson Derek! Question: How do you identify words that are verbs and nouns? Is it the context they are used in? Meaning it is used as the subject of the sentence vs the object or purpose of the sentence? Thanks in advance.

      Hi there! Good question.
The context the word is used in should give you an idea of whether it is a verb or a noun.
Nouns are usually the subject - a person, place, thing, or idea.
Verbs describe the action happening in a sentence.
Here’s another example with access. Can you identify the verb and the noun?
      1. Can you give me access to the folder, please?
      2. I can’t access the file.
      Hope this helps!

@@derekcallan-englishforpros Thanks for the reply. Okay, so 1. Would be a noun. 2. Would be the verb because access in that case is the action. Thank you so much Derek? Will keep this in mind every time. 🙂
