8x8 Wow! 64 wheels is unprecedented!

You have to bring that thing over to the Stöffelpark

Very nice build... Fascinating to see it in action...
    ... ? ...
Would it be possible to angle the camera;... where it shows the suspension springs;... shock absorbers working over those large bumps;... tree stumps... Going into full compression over that kind or similar terrain...

Thanks! Yes sure, this was just a quick first camera mount but I will come up with some better angles next time. This project is a long way to go

      @@mjetdevelopment...
      Thanks for replying...
The suspension shots would sure allow;... help my inquisitive pensioner brain cells... Well what few I have left working... ROFL... Understand why on my Mobility Scooter it bounces over;... say a 2" tree branch instead of;... not only the 2" but plus being ejected a further 2" by the so called suspension system... I have slackened all four so they is no pretension... Perhaps I just need thinner coil springs...
Yes I've watched many videos on suspension & how they work;... but when they start going into all the mathematical equations that just go over my head...
Enough rattle... You have a great day...
I look forward to more great videos from the England's;... Robin Hood County...

@@ElTelBaby Thanks man, looking forward to discussing the suspension with you next time the camera captures it properly:)

This is pure gold! I am wondering whether your design is sturdy enough to use wheels with an outer diameter of about 180 mm with a hub motor in each wheel. I am using the brushless hub motors DDSM115 from Waveshare with 3D printed rims to fit larger crawler tires. Right now my setup is 6x6 with skid steering. It performs very well in terms of torque and silent running, but the turn radius is enormous. I thought about adding all wheel steering but my engineering skills fall a little short of that task. I will follow your project eagerly and hopefully you will release the files at some point an Cults3D. Your steering mechanism together with the ability to run the wheels on one side faster than on the other, will give great performance I think.

      Thank you!
I have a 9:1 cycloidal gearbox in each wheel hub. Despite being a bit complex, I love the output torque and just the style of that mechanism. Therefore I am personally not interested in using a motor in each wheel.
The chassis is very stiff, and the turning radius when using all wheel steering is probably better than some 4x4 trucks. However the design still has many other problems to solve, it is especially necessary to make the servicing easier.
If I successfuly finish this project, which I am really looking forward to, the files will be for sale. I am not rushing on it, it's a long way to go:)

@@mjetdevelopment That makes perfect sense, my hub motor approach is just something I prefer because of the "robotic programming choices" and the silent running it offers. A drive shaft and diffs and gear boxes are much more sensible. I am looking forward to see your project develop. Maybe I will build an M-Jet in the mean time. Cheers!
