I simply did what one guy mentioned and scored right where the plastic end meets the start of the grip with a knife. Go around a few times then used a punch to knock the end cap out. With a good scoring it comes out pretty darn clean.
If you do it like that, when you drop the bike to the right side, it will compress the wrap around hand guard to the grip, and you will have a stuck throttle. You need to put the grip further into the handlebar, so if you crash, the handguard wrap will hit the handlebar, and will not affect the throttle. (Sorry about my English, but not native)
Ok 3rd video I’ve watched. You cut away the plastic in the center and flick it out to reveal the center hole. I used a step drill and drilled it right out because I found when I did my wrap around up it pulled up on the grip. Seems all good. Looking forward to testing them out.
Do yourself a favor and don’t do what he did! get a 5/8 bit and drill from the inside not the outside!!!!! it makes a big huge mess and gets aluminum all over your grandpa and all over your hand and everywhere else. And don’t use that stupid hole saw bit he is using!!!! Get a standard 5/8 spade bit. And drill from the inside! Thank me later 😂😂😂. The spade bed acts as a guide, because there is a small hole already in the grip makes an absolute perfect cut with no mass and no aluminum all over your stuff. Do it outside over a trashcan for a bonus point😂
They don't tell you this when you buy them! ruined a new set of grips when i holed sawed out the plug because it span an ripped the rubber. Crap grips for full hand grips. I feel cheated!
My greenlee 3/4 hole saw worked perfectly, drill into the center on the outside, it drilled off the plastic that holds the end cap in the grip.

I agree 100%

Fail. Shouldn't have to butcher new grips, bad design. Definitely not buying these.

Damn, I ruined my throttle side last night
