I wouldn't want Harper to be the 3rd string and made Alex take Harper for granted like she does from time to time in the show so nope, I'm oppose to this couple
i don’t think she was meant to be with stevie at all. i distinctly remember max, justin, and alex using the IPP after reading stories that seemed a little too close to their lives (they were written by harper from the future), and when alex got mad after finding out, FUTURE HARPER had said “did mason break up with you already?”
i feel like it was a major 2023 take for the producers. i’m sure if there was a rewrite, or if WOWP never existed and dropped as a new show in 2023, absolutely they would be together in some capacity.

I loved learning that their relationship was canon. Would've been super interesting to see them develop the storyline.

@@CaptainMarvel-ew7rn I think they're referring to the fact that the character recently said they DID intend to make her bi but there was too much pressure against it so they "censored" it and made it this. I think it was on the new Wizards of Waverly Place podcast.

I do see the flirtatious nature of Stevie and how Alex is drawn to her. I know the relationship never came into fruition BUT I can definitely see how that was the desire. I know Disney was not ready for that so from a story telling standpoint it would’ve bogged down the flow of the show if she was just an extra friend. Buuut if they did what they wanted and made them an item it would’ve kept the flow. Plus it’s Haley we’re talking about! Who better to cast?

Keep in mind that these episodes came out in 2010. Gravity Falls came out two years later and ran throughout 2016.
Disney refused, all the way up through 2016, to allow the cops to be a couple. They let them have exactly one scene in the finale saying they were into each other and that was it. They gave them a Korrasami moment and that was it.
Do you really think a storyline in a Disney show released five years before Obergefell v. Hodges would EVER have the balls to depict a gay couple? We only just got Luz and Amity being a couple on a Disney Channel show and even THAT got shortened because the network decided to go in another direction.
Actually Good Luck Charlie did it way before 2016.

I believe the show runner of this show actually came out and confirmed that they wanted to play with the idea of them together but Disney wouldn’t let them!

@@Xoxo0xx0 there's a podcast that Jennifer Stone (Harper) and David DeLuise (Jerry) host and they had one of the head writers of the show on in one of their episodes (episode 8), towards the end of that episode one of the questions they asked the writer what was one storyline he wished he could have explored more and he literally said Alex and Stevie's relationship because they wanted it to be more than friends but Disney would _not_ have allowed that at the time so they got as close as they could

4:42 the reason why the conjured up a Lego wall because Lego’s are made out of plastic. Wizard Magic doesn’t work on plastic, plastic is the hardest thing to deal with magic which Justin said. They wanted Justin and harper to not come inside. They wanted to plot an Evil plan, and they didn’t want Justin and Harper around . Justin would use magic to get in, but he can’t use magic on plastic
Idk I feel like characters that are too similar are boring as a couple. There’s no dynamic because they behave the exact same in any given situation. Stevie didn’t bring out any of the positive sides of Alex, and on,y encouraged her bad traits. They never would’ve worked. That’s not how real couples function.
I thought the same until the Eat The Beat episode. Stevie saw how toxic Alex and Justin were, and she put a stop to it. It made Alex think more about how much she goes too far, and that a lot of the things she argues about isn’t worth their relationship being ruined. I still don’t think Alex and Stevie should be together long term, but I do think she was a good learning experience for Alex

It's because Harper is the only one who knew Alex better than anyone else... Harper knew Alex may have do alot of rush decisions but she said that in the end, she always made the right decisions and always trusting her to do the right thing... In the episode where Justin believed that Alex is evil when she joined Stevie, Harper is the only one who stand by her side and always believing her

Peter (the showrunner) literally said their relationship was "clear to everyone". And he absolutely wasn't kidding- they even mentioned that they may have been able to make their relationship explicit a few years down the line. if your headcanon is that Alex is straight, that's fine, but that clearly wasn't the writers' intention
