This is why I have never and will never trust "digital currency". Because just like everything else lately, there is zero accountability. If something happens to your digital money, there is nobody to answer for it. Cash is king.

I been telling people to keep Cash also the digital currency is going to be a big problem and people are so comfortable paying all their bills digitally with their credit cards and not one person can pull 1$ out they're pocket.. paycheck in account then I go and withdraw it.
I watch several channels on TH-cam because I stopped paying for cable several years ago. This explains why several content creators have been talking about their algorithms recently.

I have another channel that was monetized 10 years ago until 2 years ago or so. I only left 1 video up so I don't qualify for adsense anymore, but if you look they're still running ads on it to this day. How can that be if I don't qualify anymore? Seriously shady stuff.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. This has happened to several other people. There's a channel I watch who has 1.19 million subscribers and he was demonetized about a month ago. Another one had 655k subscribers and now he is gone all together. Several other people I watch changed to the locals platform. If they don't agree with your opinion you are gone. This seems to be an ongoing theme for TH-cam. They seem to be stealing from content creators over and over again. I would be livid, too!
Several other youtubers I follow have just had several of their videos lose all the money all of a sudden. Also, they just happen to be high money videos. TH-cam is robbing people for sure.

Full Honesty Guys, this is my first time viewing u guys, Years ago, I and my group at the time had to file a lawsuit behind this same thing, early TH-cam days when you had to align with a separate channel in order to monetize, skip the back n forth and file a case, take it to court, we were owed nearly 40,000 and had to settle for 8000, way too much to put in the chat but all seriousness, take it to court, with all the proof.

Sorry this happened to you, they are infamous for shady things it’s frustrating when they are constantly doing those “subscribing dumps” too. Especially for the people who like watching several creators but don’t have great memory of the channel names or even realize it’s been done behind the scenes.

I don't blame you Michelle for being angry. I sold a prison tv, eBay paid me and now they're trying to take it back from me and the product was shipped. There's no one at eBay for me to talk to. Companies like TH-cam should be held accountable for monetized videos who take money from content creators.

Sorry this happened to you. This has happened to many people I listen to. Many demonetized and many deplatformed. I still follow them because of their content but on different platforms. There are other platforms.

I am glad that creators are speaking out on this. I am a small channel and you have confirmed what has been happening to me when it comes to missing views etc. When I was seeing views and thumbs up decreasing or not being counted I thought I was going crazy. When you are a smaller channel these are things that you don't miss. So I started taking screen shots after I uploaded videos and there it was. I would have maybe 25 to 70 views on a new video and then within a few hours or so maybe even the next day, views and thumbs up would either be decreased by 15 to 20 views or not recognized at all. Of course there was no response from YT. I also had a Commentary based news channel and that was shadow banned to the point where I just deleted it altogether. With all of the censorship and not allowing certain words, I can understand why creators are ditching the platform. Sorry this happened to you and hope that it will be resolved in your favor. You Tube sad to say has fallen on every level.

It's about as inorganic as it gets. The irony is that YT claims their goal is organic channel growth and views.

I've seen creators "lose" half their subscribers overnight, which could result in less money. It's usually folks who are speaking truth about what's going on in our crazy world. There have been numerous creators talking about leaving, but no one has really given us the story. I appreciate getting it unfiltered from you and Kevin. I suspected this was the underlying cause. I'd be ticked off royally, too, Michelle. The ones that get me are the creators that have been "demonetized" because their videos went against the mainstream grain, but commercials are still running during their videos. I totally get it and support you, Michelle!❤ Cancel culture at its worst! Keep speaking TRUTH. It's the right thing to do, even if you have to find a different platform. Also, I hate it when, instead of answering your questions directly, the company person just sends you a bunch of links/forms/etc., and send you on a wild goose chase!

I understand exactly where you're coming from. About two years ago my husband started a TH-cam channel. He put his heart and soul into it and in the end when his message start started reaching the right people they started taking down videos and other things
When you are able to build a following and all of a sudden TH-cam starts to notice your content and it's something they disapprove of they start to mess with you. hoping that you will bow to them or you would just give up.

Amazon is pretty shady too. They sign you up for other services and when you got to cancel it they just keep withdrawing from your account. I had to get my bank involved.

I don't think the $ ever got to her account. It seems she watched her video to see how many clicks, views, and she can tell what she should be paid. Sound like one video made $1000 and TH-cam took $900. Something like that. Not surprising, other creators are saying the same thing. I'm sure it's all legal, it's in the small print, likely they can change terms as they see fit. Anyway... that's my take on what she is saying.

Another aspect of YT not paying content makers correctly is because so many people have Ad Blocks on their computers/programs. YT tried blocking viewers who had Ad Blocks on, but it's been hit and miss with that. Programs came out immediately to work around the YT viewer block. So it's lost revenue for YT, who has tried stuffing more and more ads into each video, which loses viewer interest.
