My friends father bought him a brand new (1982) KX80 BEAUTIFUL BIKE. None of us could afford new and always bought 2nd or 3rd hand older bikes. He kick started it, and drove it right into a storm wash basin. It was, a beautiful bike.
I raced my 1980s KX 80 from 81 82 83 and 84 in Riverside California my kx 80 ran strong all them years everyone else got a new bike every year but not me in 1984 i got laughed at but when i out ran them i had the last laugh i changed my own oil and tuned the motor i even did the top cylinder work with help from my dad with his hot rod engine background he milled the head to give the engine more power along with reworking the carb making my bike sounding like a 250 kids back then would ask why does the bike sound different from there's
Billy Liles was one of the best! I loved watching him as a kid in Georgia. Just fast all the time.
I saw Billy at sand mountain not long ago
