    UPDATE: this is a re-upload from a while back - youtube gave me a copyright notice for the background music, so I changed the background music as best as I could - sorry the audio is a little choppy in places

    Ellusionist gets criticized a lot for crediting issues with their products. However, I have to agree with your review this kit is a great value for your money. It took me years to learn the magic they have compiled in the kit. I had to research books, look around on forums, and bug fellow magician friends. Ellusionist has done the footwork for you and put everything in one place. Great review David, I wish this kit had been around when I was starting out in magic.

    WOW! Great review Dave. Where was this lit in the 50's when I started with a Sneaky Pete set.

    Excellent review David! I’ve been looking for a good “Kit” to gift an adult who has taken an interest in magic! This fits the bill, doesn’t deal with a bunch of plastic nonsense, and is taught clearly! Purchased and done!! Thank you!!! (Had to purchase from a different source, as E was sold out)

    Wow. I missed this. Great review. Have never been a fan of the Coin Bite but Coin in Bottle is awesome, especially in a bar environment.

    I bought this from the Kickstarter and never watched any of it haha. got some homework from this video. huge thank you for reminding me I had this! I took a bit of a break from magic and need a refresher on a lot of fundamentals. I was also about to purchase a few of these items (IT and reveal sharpie) so glad to save a few bucks there.

    I wish this was an option when I was a kid. I remember buying the black stone magic kit and I remember seeing him perform . Growing up I attended the Columbus magi fest here in ohio and learned over the yrs through classes there and by joining the ibm. However I think there are a lot of people who need an all in one experience into magic to get the creative juices flowing . This may be one of the better introductions on the market

    For the bite out of a quarter, I've used a shim quarter held in place by Silent Assistant, and a shimed bite out of quarter for switching out - if you follow where I'm going with this method. Very good intro to magic, BTW.

    I've got this, originally I found all the card tricks too hard. After purchasing Daniel Roy course on Patreon, I now can a few more.

    I found magic after sitting at home from teleworking. This kit was one of the first things I bought. The DVDs alone are worth it. Always want want hard copies. Really love it as a beginner. I followed it up with How to Read Minds.

    I get asked a lot about where to start I usually recommend the Mark Wilson Course. But for kits, would you recommend the Ellusionist set or Evolushin?

      I doubt it, since it's a kit. I just used my editing software and made them all mp4

    A quick correction for you: Triumph was not originally published in royal road. It was first published in Stars of Magic

    • @magicorthodoxy
      @magicorthodoxy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      STARS of Magic? Wasn't that 1st published in 2017? Stars of Magic is a collection - all of the tricks in STARS of Magic were published somewhere else first

    • @kjkapinos
      @kjkapinos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@magicorthodoxy Actually, it was originally a series of manuscripts published in the 1940s, and Dai Vernon's first manuscript for stars of magic contained triumph and was published in 1946. In the 50s, once all the volumes were published, Tannen's compiled all the loose manuscripts into one book. 2017 is just when Meir Yedid reprinted the compilation in paperback.
      If you haven't read Stars of Magic, I highly recommend it. It's where you can find the original versions of triumph, Vernon's cups and balls routine, travelers, the homing card, cavorting aces, slow motion aces, triple coincidence, and a lot of other now classic tricks.

    I have a love hate with this company. They have had their contributions to the community, but It irks me how ellusionists capitalizes and rides off the coat tails of Blaine right around his recent projects/shows and profits off his work/name. In this case, his Studio class. I get ellusionist is a business but they come off to me not honorable and a disrespect to art of magic such as not crediting the creators, as you’ve alluded to, and being only money hungry. They make it hard for me to support their company .
