You have a spelling mistake in the slide referring to מי כמך from the Bible
Hello. The Biblical way of spelling is different to the modern way of spelling. In the Hebrew Bible, kamocha is really spelled like כָּמֹכָה
🙂
@@hebrew4learners why then is ps35:10 כָּל עַצְמוֹתַי תֹּאמַרְנָה יְהוָה מִי כָמוֹךָ מַצִּיל עָנִי מֵחָזָק מִמֶּנּוּ וְעָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן מִגֹּזְלוֹ
?
The example I gave is exactly how it is written in my Hebrew Bible which is an Israeli Bible, printed by Sinai publishing.
Hi @Mandy, I checked your Psalm verse in my Hebrew Bible. Your example is correct. In Psalms, kamocha is written as כָּמוֹךָ . However, in Exodus, it is written as כָמֹ֤כָה. So the example I gave is also correct because that is how it is written in Exodus. Please keep in mind that the Bible was transcribed by various Hebrew scribes across many generations. Exodus was written many generations before Psalms, so the spelling has changed by the time Psalm was written. In fact, modern Hebrew is a perfect example that shows how the Hebrew spelling of many words have evolved since Biblical times. I'm sorry if I confused you by saying כָמֹ֤כָה is how it's written in the Bible. I should have said "that is how it is written in the exact verse of the example I gave from Exodus". If you're interested, I recommend Biblehub which shows how Biblical texts are written in Hebrew word for word. Here's an example showing kamocha in Exodus. I wish you a wonderful journey of learning Hebrew. 🙏❤️
