GUYS... let's talk honestly... he doesn't know what is talking about :
basically the Smith Chromapop storm is 50% VLT and the Anon Sonar Blue is 46% VLT, when the oakley Prizm rose is 26% VLT. Which means that the oakley is a darker lens... so it doesn't"t mean the lens is poor. Simon just saw, less clear. It's just that. Sorry Simon, but talking about gear... Talk and compare truly and basically the features : in this case for the lenses : VLT ;-)
PS : or you can compare sonar blue and chroma pop storm with Oakley Hi Pink Iridium whit is 46% VLT.
    Period.
    Have a good season dude

      Hey,
Thanks for watching and the points you make. I appreciate the feedback and will consider this in future product videos.
I actually agree which is why I said I’d be keen to try the HI Pink Iridium as mentioned. However I wouldn’t buy Oakley again personally due to my other issues.
My main gripe with Oakley (flight deck) is I had so much fogging. Not something I’ve experienced with the other two goggles.
In terms of the quality of Oakley lenses having been on tests and product training with Oakley I wouldn’t argue with the quality of the lenses. I just don’t think Prizm Rose is a good storm lens.
Hope you have a great season also. Fingers crossed we can all get on snow! 👊

I agree on the lens comparison not being too fair for Oakley here, and like Simon says, Hi Pink would be in the ballpark of the other lenses here. I have just quickly tried on the Prizm Rose on a whiteout day, and wouldn't take that in place of Hi Pink. With Oakleys you can manage pretty much any situation with three lenses: Hi Pink, Torch and Sapphire (or even more darker lens for bluebird days). Or even pick between Torch/Sapphire, which suits you better.
But with modern lenses, perhaps you also should not strictly only look at the VLT, but it really depends also on how much contrast a given lense has for your eyes - which may depend on one's personal preference or eyes.

Lumalense, prizm, and chromapop i found to be the best 3 lense types. Sonar isnt as good as Luma, i went back n fourth for a while on this. Where i snowboard, new york, we have the most spots in the US beleive it or not, and i MAXIMUM, need 1 extra lense, and thats if im going at night or something. The whole lense swap thing for goggles is a bit overrated a bit, because you dont really need to change out ur lenses as much as they make it seem like its something you need to do. What goes first on goggles is the foam, take care of the foam and ur goggles can least 5-10 years easy, i still have pairs from 2010s and 2000s that are fine, but the lense tech wasnt there yet so i dont rock most of them anymore, i wear DX3's now. I prefer a super wide field of view, and i like framed vs non frame goggles, even with framed goggles lenses are still very easy to change, and from my experience seal better. I used to want flight decks, untill i tried a pair, wasnt a fan. Nowadays you dont really need to drop 150-200 on goggles. You can grab things like dx3s wich are just as good if not better and are like 60-80 bucks, have good lense tech (luma), and u can replace the lenses if you ever need to, but like i said its not something i ever really needid to do alot, and i snowboard a good amount. Most of the time, ur gunna use 1 lense, you might want like 1 or 2 extra ones for like stormy weather but it sucks to snowboard like that anyway, same with at night. So alot of the time i end up buying extra lenses for sunny/slight cloudy conditions just to try them all out, rather than buy ones for the night, tbh at night no goggles is probably my ideal choice, or just clear.

I found luma, chroma, and prizm to peform the best, its weird some of them are better at different vlt%'s. But i found lumalense to be my fav. I remember when they all came out, smith came out with chromapop in like 2012 ish or 2013, and then a few years later oakley came up with there own, dragon worked on luma for a while, and put theres out in 2016, and that one seems to be the best varient of this new tech ive dealt with so far. I think sonar came out in 2018, idk ive tried that one and it seems weird, i only tried 2 and they didnt seem that dope to me, idk. I use to dream of owning flight decks, and when i got them? i was unimpressed and now i rock 80 dollar DX3's, they seem to have a wider field of view, and i like the lense tech, i actually prefer the newer made non stamped cylindrical lenses over the spherical ones, maybe its caus im more used to dx3's tho.

I don't know why Oakley made Rose honestly. Its VLT is almost the same as the "sunny" Torch/Sapphire/Jade, but it doesn't even remotely look as nice. I own both Rose and Hi Pink Iridium, and there's DRASTIC difference in visibility in these conditions. It's very hard to find a use case for the Rose.

totally aligns with my experiences. I’ve used flighdeck xl for last 4 seasons and thought it was the best one even if it fogged up every time when it’s just drizzling and that I broke literally two lens either when mounting then or transporting. I blamed it all on myself. Until last season I decided to go with smith mag. It blew my mind. Changing lens has never been so easy, I can literally change the lens with my mittens on while it was simply a nightmare with Oakley even indoor with bare hands.
Tbh, Oakley is just trash. It builds up fog in between the two layers of lens and once it does that, your day is basically ruined. You will have to go find a heater, put your goggle near it and wait for 1 hour at least to get the water out. Oakley us just so poorly designed that the seal between layers allows water in easily and don’t let them go away.
Avoid Oakley, do yourself a favor and get a Smith.

I dont think putting them through camera lens would help much because the technology in the ski lenses is focusing on changing the perception of human eyes. The cameras cannot imitate that totally.
