    So... How do you safely remove the battery cover grip piece?
    EDIT - The bottom of the join has grooves. If you open the handle, you can carefully and safely pry the join through the grooves, by lifting it with your thumb bit by bit.

    Hi, industrial thermometer engineer, we can reduce the temperature range and insulate it between 34 and 40 degrees

    Does anyone have any experience printing a 3D Fresnel lens as an add-on to refocus or adjust the focus pont on the sensor? I believe PLA will be a good material for IR since early test shows that PLA is almost transparent to the long wavelengt IR..

    We have a GM 300 thermometer in the outside temperature, for example, a minus one to 15 degrees low temperature. What can we do? This problem does not occur. The temperature range can be reduced and humanized.

    There is the analog to digital converter where you see resistors, processor and the LCD display.

    Dear Sir,
    I guess that you have a GM320 thermometer. Does yours play a beep sound after you release the trigger? I've got GM321 which is from the same family of devices, the same design and display pattern, but after every measure it plays a lound and annoying 'BEEEP". I wonder if there's a special combination of buttons to turn this sound off or the only way is to de-solder internal buzzer? The manual says nothing about it.

      At mine there is no beep, Just desolder the piezo-beeper.

    Great teardown! Quick question. Is there a way to concentrate the ir scope from 12:1.5 to 12:1 by adjusting or reshaping fresnel lens? I would guess a germanium lens would improve accuracy.

    • @KainkaLabs
      @KainkaLabs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if you get hold of a lens with a longer focal length, that would improve the spot/distance ratio.
      A Germanium lens would of course be superior due to better IR-transmission and better optical quality compared to a Fresnel-lens (the radiation is concentrated more on a spot if it has the right shape).

      I need also better scope. Maybe another device have better lens. Easiest way.

    if i remove the laser will still work normally? the laser cat 2 seems too bright to point to close objects and every time you put batteries in, you have to remember to disable it ( when i don't use it for some time i remove the batteries)

    • @KainkaLabs
      @KainkaLabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The laser is completely separate from the rest of the electronics. But these lasers are not dangerous because even if they shine directly into your eye the laser-spot doesn´t stay fixed on a point on the retina for more than a few milliseconds.

    6:33 The detector is a thermopile: it works by the thermoelectric Seebeck effect.

    The IR sensor might use I2C, hence using 4 wires instead of 2.

      @@KainkaLabs There exists both digital and analog sensors with this form factor (TO-39). Examples: MLX90614 has 2 builtin chips and provides SMBus/PWM at user choice, whereas TP337 is analog.

    May please u help me to give hint for calibration, I have one (model: yk-irt2 ) it is showing around half of the real temperature, there is nothing mention in the manual for calibration, I open it, the sensor is three wire and seems connected directly to M.processor, on PCB there is and EPROM, and a place for 8pin IC may be opamp but not used. I checked all the resisters and transistors, found Ok. I tried different tricks to go to calibration or setup mode but couldnt. Now days due to COVID-19 the scanners are short in the market and price goes very high > 250USD
    hoping to get some help from you, as company is not responding

      @@aryomyid actual problem is how to enter into calibration mode as nothing is given in manual, and supplier is not responding

    • @KainkaLabs
      @KainkaLabs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I even didn´t know that there is a calibration mode. The parts I have tested until now are all within 1°C. But that is of course not enough for medical application. And BTW: Measuring the temperature of your face is totally stupid and cam give many false alarms e.g. if you were running beforehand, have high blood pressure and are aroused, flushing etc.
      The only way to correctly measure body temperature is in your inner ear with special medical IR-thermometers that are accurately calibrated to better than 0.3°C.
