    Hello, I've been watching your videos, and l can say you are very educative and l have learnt a lot. My first poultry was at 19 in Ghana, they were 100 layers and 100 broilers. Did very well, and had to leave my healthy birds, none died, at 4 weeks old to my mom and travel to Accra to start working. I live in the USA, and I'm acquiring a 20 acres land with a lake around it to begin poultry again on a large scale.

    Cheers Fred. Managing my poultry farm from the diaspora and due to the increase in prices of the raw materials (Maize in particular but also soyabean meal - are you not experiencing that?) coupled with COVID-19 which has affected the purchasing power, we are struggling to sell our eggs. The prices are same as yours. We are also new to this and this is our first batch. Would really appreciate it if you could find it in your heart to link us up with some buyers, as I could sense that you can even meet your buyers demand.

    Price of eggs is dependent on your expenses. You will spend about 15 GHS to produce a crate of egg. This is what drive egg prices. I am selling my unsorted crates for 18 GHS at my farm now. I like you point on the buyer scheduling, we follow that religiously and try as much as possible not to disappoint any of them. Good video.

    • @arellysritchieauthor
      @arellysritchieauthor 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been doing my research and from what poultry expert say online ghana is good because in terms of eggs consumption ghana got a HUGE egg shortage and many people are actually importing eggs from outside of Ghana because there are not enough poultry farmers to satiate the HUGE demand for eggs, when it comes to poultry farming a chicken farm thrives the best in a dense populated area if you're looking for other African countries with a huge population then south Africa got a huge population, I would look into Kenya too, in fact, poultry farming is thriving in kenya.

    Hi Fred, so if I wanna rent a pen and start one thousands layer foreign birds, in estimation how much will it cost me in totality before they start laying...?

    • @Abidjan-weekly
      @Abidjan-weekly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Based on my own project, I would say $10000...ours is 3300 because we want to curve deaths so we are taking more and we are putting in $30000 until they start laying. U will have to build because it is rare to find farms to rent....building a solid structure is better for your birds.
