I just played one yesterday as I was waiting on an amp at Guitar Center. I almost walked out with it, it felt so good and playability was perfect on it.
I own and love the Super Swede. I recently played the Ultra Max and loved it as well. Lighter in weight compared to my super. I want one now and would love to have the Pat Smear Hag as well.
How good do you think the Hagströms are? I have a Super Swede Tremar and I really love the sound of it! Do you think tbey are worthy to keep trackar of... Are they any good? There are not much information about them on the net...
Wow, sounds fantastic!! 😍 which strings did you use in the video? And which one would you prefer, this or Gibson Studio? I‘m not sure, which one I should buy. I was sure, that I want the Gibson studio, but now the sound of this guitar seems to win over the Gibson with clean sounds.
Thank you, I haven't played a Gibson Studio so it would be hard to make a fair call on that one, although as a personal preference i tend to prefer longer scale over short scale. The strings for this were the D'addario's it was shipped with 🎸

Thanks Phillip! I'd say you can definitely get vintage tones out of this one, middle or bridge position with the coil split and a bit of drive would certainly put you in ZZ Top tone territory
Hi James, I'm considering getting the Hagstrom ultra Max or The Sire L7. Which do you think is a better choice ? Which is closer to a Gibson Les Paul standard. Thanks for the video anyway!
Hi Frank, I've not played the Sire models but just done a google on the specs. The biggest difference between the two besides the aesthetics that will differentiate them from a Les Paul Standard is the scale length. Gibsons are shorter at 24.75", as is the Sire. This one is a Longer scale at 25.5" - same as Fender. It's mainly a feel thing with the size of the the frets and the reduced string tension on a shorter scale. So feel wise I would guess the Sire would probably be closer to a Gibson.

I think it could just be the camera angle, I didn't realise I was sat with the headstock pointing near the camera for most of the clips, I'm pretty sure it's a pretty standard size from what I remember.
Do you have any thoughts on the tuners? Given that the are not locked tuners. Incresible chops and musicality and an overall superb review man keep it up
Thank you! As far as I can remember I didn't have any tuning issues with this guitar and it was pretty solid. Normally if I'm using a guitar with non locking tuners I'll restring it using the 'bend the string over on itself at the tuning post' to lock it off which can sometimes help.

Curious how the Ultra Max will hold up to scratches and dings being that it’s a flat and not a clear hard coat?
