to me, Ryu makes more sense given the current situation in the anime ending from season 4 part 2 after escaping the dungeon together and the experiences they shared whilst in the dungeon, however based on what i've seen with Bell and his determination to be on Aiz's level of strength, Aiz will most likely win Bell's heart in the end. (won't hate it if Aiz wins but will be slightly dissapointed if that is the case)
I want Bell & Aiz to get together, thou I hope Bell at least acknowlege the other girls feelings for him and admits that he is in love with Aiz and he sees them as his good friends, that would be the ideal outcome
That's another reason Ais needs her own hero, not the hero of a harem of girls, that he happens to collect on his adventures, and when they left out so much of her character growth getting to know Bell, it would make their relationship seem rushed, why would she be left out of most of the story, if she was supposed to end up with him ?
I like Freya(and by extension the other character) as the novels went as she represents the obstacle and also the person that Bell abandon or sacrifice in his pursuit of Aiz. If he gets all the girls while also having Aiz then his work doesnt leave as much impact as leaving one or two hear broken women.
The way you explained it makes me realize that any show can be a harem but doesn't need to end up with the protag having multiple wives. Like Seirei Gensouki for example. I am not that far into the Novel, but it is a harem, I just don't think the protagonist will end up with multiple girls. He already rejected one girl in the prologue. It's also the same with Iska, he makes all the Witch Princesses fall for him but only answers to one of them. I think there are many more harems where the MC only chooses one girl to be with, especially form the way you described it. Maybe I should get into Danmchi? But there are so many shows I watch already. Maybe I'll just spend christmas or so binging it. I have time.
Honestly my theory is that Ais will finaly fall in love with bell when he will save her from an monster like she did to him in the first volume . Basically than means bell will have to face a threat stronger than Ais and defeat it so Bell have to become stronger than her . Currently Bell in the volume 18 as a lv 5 is pretty close to Ais level and when bell will be in the merge of becoming a level 6 (when he will have all his status in SS and SSS ranks) he will definitely be stronger than Ais , but I suppose we have to wait at least 3 volume until than

Frankly I'm not a fan of either goddess (I like Hephaistos the best of the goddesses probably followed by Loki) but Demeter had the biggest assets so far. I think Hestia's exuberant personality combining with her loli form and chest made for more eyes watching. Freya's personality is very often cold and calculating and she doesn't have the screen time since the is not Bell's goddess (and couldn't be for story purposes).

I agreed to the fact that bell and ais might ended up working together, the hestia familia might join to the expedition with Loki familia because of that one part of volume 18 that royman gives something to Finn (a deal). Vol 19 might be the start of the glacer arc, I mean, why did the author even discuss about 61 floor to main story instead of the side story (sword oratoria) unless they gonna join to the expedition Though, there's only a slightly chance of my speculation
My favorite girl has always been Ryu. Though I know she is part of the harem, I still cannot see Bell with anyone other then Ais. Also, DanMachi is most DEFINITELY a harem series.

@@KARMA-jr6uk Your not wrong but the info is old and goes back to one of his first interviews year's ago. He also said he was ending it in 18 volumes in same interview this isn't the last volume lol. All of this was said before volume 13 and 14 where even written. Those volume's where suppose to be one volume because of that he said it would be 20/22 volumes. His since said his unsure but it will be between there. When asked about the ending he said this part of Danmachi story Bell's beginning's was ending not the overall story or Familia Myth. This was last year or maybe even year before around time vol 17 dropped in Japan. Which has lead to people believing in a time skip and sequel series where the story would continue or he could of just been referencing side series. Given how Japanese publishers really don't like going past 20 to 25 volumes per series before ending it or they restart the count with a sequel. Think Index or HSDxD as example's of this. I find a sequel series as the most likely. That is a just imo and am NOT saying that's what's going to happen it could just end I don't know. One thing am sure of thou is this part of the story is ending in next few volumes.

For me the best female characters are Aisha and Ryu or who I like the best. I like Ais and am fine with her being end game. Am also ok with a harem ending even thou I know it's unlikely. While I do understand some criticisms of the show I find a lot of them unfounded. You also seem to be missing some back ground info on Ais and Bell from side stories there more fated than anything else imo.

Omori tends to vary his lengths. I don't remember exactly but the shortest tend to be around 150-170 pages and his longest have been over 400 I'm pretty sure. I read them all fairly quickly.
I have all the novels up to vol 17, all the SO novels, and a couple of familla novels. (30 books in total at this time) some are short others are longer. I am a medium-fast reader, most of the books took me 6-8 hours to read. I think book 1 of the main series is the shortest, books 8 and 14 of the main series are the longest. Hope that helps.
Like I have said before. If I could change one thing. It would just have 3 women. Ais Wallenstein, Ryuu Lion and Freya/Syr Flova. This way there's less rejections and heart breaks 💔. No cock blocking by Hestia and Lili. Because to me it is absolutely pointless to have multiple women after Bell when they have got no chance. Is it even a race when there is no competition? Since LN01 and S01 of the anime it has been made clear who Bell will end up with. He literally has a skill devote to his feelings to and for Ais. He has also shown no romantic feeling towards another character besides Ais. Surely Omori can add more characters like Mikoto that are interested in other characters besides Bell. Favourite female character is Tiona and I hope she is never added to this stupid harem.

The anime has made it clear that Ais is the winner, but the anime has given no real reason for it. As for the anime, Ais is last place among all of the girls for me due to that. I wish I knew what the anime skipped. Because only things Ais has going for her in the anime is that she's powerful, she trained Bell that one time against her guilds orders, and that when she saved him at the start, which power is no reason. So the only real thing she has going for her is that one training, and saving him at the start. Which those two things vs every other girl in the harem puts her in last place IMO. When she wins in the anime, it's going to feel REALLY bad, because it's going to feel REALLY weird. Like why would you care so much for this girl who's done next to nothing for him or with him compared to all of the other girls. Unless the anime adds stuff for her. As for who I'd pick for Bell? I mean Syr(outside of the bad shit she does as Freya), Ryuu, Hestia, and Lili all seem like great picks for him. I mean even Haruhime seems like a better pick than Aiz based on what the anime has shown, and she's been saved by Bell, and helped him win like 3x, and helped his party. Which is nearly double what Ais has done in the anime. Haruhime isn't a good choice because she lacks compared to many others in the anime. ATM as a anime only it feels like a lot of bells feelings for Ais is something a kin to Stockholm syndrome ish. Due to being saved by her at the start. It's obviously not that, but it feels a lot like that ATM.

The act of baiting fans when you already set the main girl and dangle false flags is my main gripe with authors and why I never bothered with series like this as I'll find more interesting characters and plotlines apart from the MC and know for a fact they won't get their story arc as a result I avoid stories like these as the writing is sub par from their potential, thankfully this makes me appreciate better writing.

Some ppl like side characters, plot threads and possible story threads the story can follow but the authors ability to set and lead them to their conclusion is what draws us keep going, GoT and Naruto are examples of a show soo many of us spent time with and their conclusion left many empty with GoT being forgotten and thrown to the side and being erased from social talks due to the bad payout, while naruto went from interesting concepts and moral dilemma to BIG MONSTER BATTLES ! as that is what the author wanted but not all of what we looked for sure we liked the battles but along the way we got attached to characters, plot lines and threads that were dropped for something less interesting which is why I critique it because I cared too much. I tried the first episode of Boruto and was like - not for me. I much prefer Bleach although the timing of the filler arcs was not good in my opinion, and I love One Piece, even with it's flaws. The LN have built up ryuu more than ais. Liaris freese isnt his love for ais but the desire to catch up to her. Nice vid but you're wrong on saying ais has already won.
No Ais doesn't even have her own arc yet and Ais already kinda won since the author already confirmed it and liaris freese is bell's love for Ais. Freya is trying to get rid of the skill so she can charm bell. She almost succeed but Ais reignited the skill again when bell fall in love with her the second time.
It’s a miss translation. Wether it was intentional or not, we have no idea. In Japanese, Liaris Freese description is “feelings of love” and depending on how strong those feelings of love are, the faster he will grow. Ryuu’s character was built up more than Ais simply because she had her own arc before Ais (that happened because Ryuu is far weaker than Ais so it is easier for Bell to help her at his current power level, in order for Bell to help Ais, he will have to become a literal god basically before he can help Ais) but Ais’ character was built up more to mesh well with Bell and ultimately be his girlfriend/wife eventually. Hestia is the best-ia! Her love for him is genuine & she trusted in him before any of the others. He literally is her world and she accepted him way before any of his accomplishments. Ais is the kinda girl that Bell will be married to for 8-10 years & she will then divorce him. After that no heal spell is going to cure that wound. That rabbit should know better.
I wouldn't wish a life of chastity on Bell, so no Hestia since she is a virgin goddess. Ryu is best girl but Ais will cherish Bell for the rest of their lives. If it can't be Ais then Ryu. Hestia is at the bottom of the list, sitting only above Freya.

so... I 100% thought you were talking about Ais repaying Fyra by trying to attack Bell in the wargame coming in book 18. After all Ais owes Fyra for letting her train with Ottarl.. at least the first 20 seconds in the video... I was really looking for a cool theory on the war game before it came out. The reason people don't like ais even among the ln character is that she is extremely dull, I think her writhing in general is really weird, I say that after reading the 12 volumes of her spinoff story
She was essentially abandoned by her parents for who knows how long in the dungeon and so she has internalized all.of her emotions and focused on killing monsters since no one was there to save her. She has slowly been breaking out of her shell and learning to value and trust others. She also has absolutely no alcohol tolerance. We won't even touch on the biggest aspects of her backstory until after the current arc is done and maybe further. Her internal struggle during the Bell.fight over Weine was extremely emotional and seeing her jealousy at Weine for having someone save her and her will just breaking inside when Weine tore her nails and wing was just heartbreaking. Her fights against Revis and her giving in to the black flames to try and win until that chime broke through and purified her. She is an incredibly well-written character who has suffered and is very socially immature. The anime even catches it pretty well if you watch carefully enough. The subtle change of her eyes or to her mouth when certain emotions hit, her lack of knowledge of things aside from fighting. It's very understandable why she seems a bit robotic but it doesn't take much to see past that either. I look forward to when she opens up finally.

@@cesarbrad286 I agree that is deep into the story. However the story has only progressed roughly 6 months in universe by the time of volume 17. SO volume 12 is around 5 months in universe. That is not a very long time for someone with that type of trauma to break out of her shell. I get the feeling her being charmed and how she felt after is going to speed up her growth a bit. I could be wrong though.

Ais is mentally broken of having emotions. Shes supposed to be kinda dull but learning how to express herself slowly. The manga has shown how much shes gotten better at expressing herself throughout the story
WARNING, some Spoilers here! First things first, great video, very interesting. Please more of that. I don't know how it's shown in the novels (i only have read a synopsis), but "Bell is head over heels in love for Ais", i kind of disagree with this. In the anime, i think at this point it's more like a teenager (Bell) has a deep crush on a popstar (Ais). It reminds me so much of girls crying, screaming and fangirling over their favorite boygroupmember, but genderswaped here . In most situations with Ais and/or other girls, Bell is more concerned being a "british gentlemen" or something, instead of coming close to the girl he's "head over heels in love" with. - Does he confess to her? No. - Does he want to talk with her or be with her? Not in the first place, cause he thinks of himself unworthy and wants to become as strong as she is to do what ... what's his plan when he succeed ... finaly do something with her or finaly make a move. I mean, he is spending a lot of time and effort into this. - Does he wants to know her better? Yes, but mostly over other parties involved. Their most direct conversations is about what? Adventureing and combat skills, not about their opposite personality or interests (e. g. Ais only wants to know, why Bell becomes strong so fast). - Spontanous romantic Situations? The best was on Apollons Ball, when they danced (thx Hermes for that, Bell couldn't and won't have done it). But making 3 godesses jealous, great. - Do they date? Their only "date" was, when Bell and Ais trained on the walls. Ais had to offer him this. THIS solves a critical moment later, when Ais remembered to want to knock out Bell and give him a lap-pillow afterwards. - Do they kiss? Nope. No land in sight here. - Does anyone in the anime sees them as a future couple? IMHO no. I kind of dislike the indecisiveness and passivness of Bell, cause the story is about PICKING UP GIRLS IN A DUNGEON!!! We are in Seasion 4, total romances: 0 ... I WANT MORE RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROMANCE!!!! :D The most negative situation was, when he decides to go full aggro against the girl he is "head over heels in love with" (nice "ROAR" from Bell which even shocked Ais ... and me :D ), cause he saw no other solution to get what he wants (protect Wiene) and under any circumstances didn't want to give in. He could have begged to her, he could have given up, maybe negotiated a truce. I mean, we are talking about future lovers here, which strongly trusts each other at this point. The shown outcome was the only one "positive". If Bell hit Ais with his Firebolts (cause Ais failed to evade or he didn't aim properly) or hit her with debris, if Ais uses Ariel (she said she goes all out too, but she lied). Then what ... great faction war... roll credits? Could have Bell really have known or planed this? Cause he decided to act in this way. I didn't see many other all-ins with higher stakes and less chance to win. There really is some affection on both characters to each other, i acknowledge that. Maybe, when Bell and Ais interact more together and/or have an adventure like Ryuu and Bell, their relationship and feelings will grow into love, but now? Please forgive me for becoming triggered with "head over heels in love" in relation to Ais and Bell. Btw. i ship for Ryuu first, Tiona second.
I tend to agree with you at the very first of the store. In part. His skill does indicate the feelings are stronger than just a crush, however, and when he thinks of her his back tends to burn and his skill seems (not confirmed but it does have the two components continued desire begets continued growth and stronger desire begets stronger growth) to go into overdrive. He is 14 and it seems like he had very little contact with girls in his village. He is very shy to all of them and doesn't know how to present himself, very common for a boy that age. However he runs from Ais because he doesn't want to look like a fool around her. He doesn't really run from the others (Amazons in Ishtar Familia being an exception) but just acts awkward. Once they finally talk he actually acts pretty normal around her, even noticing her awkwardness when it came to training. It may have seemed superficial but it did allow them to get to know each other. I think Bell's feelings actually deepened a bit here. Bell feels, especially after Bete's antics in the pub, that he can only be worthy of dating her if he can stand beside her on the battlefield as equals. So he has that mixed in with the desire to be strong enough to protect her (and obviously others). I kinda think by the time he reaches mid level 5 he'll be about at that stage, so we could see a confession fairly soon. But the kicker is what happened in 17. He basically says he fell.in love with her all over again. And at this point it definitely isn't a crush. She just brought him back from almost surrendering to Freya. Ryu is my beat girl and 2nd choice for Bell after Ais. It's a toss-up between Tiona and Aisha for second and third. Ais is 4th.
Stop saying bs if you dont read LN. Bell literally mentioned in LN that he is trying to be stronger to catch up to Ais in order to confess his love to her. You can clearly see how much he is happy after a level up because he feels close to Aiz everytime he level up. He said he won't accept other girls' feelings. He said that straight to Ryu face. Bell should stand with Ais to take out the black dragon, but if the harem is not happening Ais should not be bell's wife.

to me, Ryu makes more sense given the current situation in the anime ending from season 4 part 2 after escaping the dungeon together and the experiences they shared whilst in the dungeon, however based on what i've seen with Bell and his determination to be on Aiz's level of strength, Aiz will most likely win Bell's heart in the end. (won't hate it if Aiz wins but will be slightly dissapointed if that is the case)

That's another reason Ais needs her own hero, not the hero of a harem of girls, that he happens to collect on his adventures, and when they left out so much of her character growth getting to know Bell, it would make their relationship seem rushed, why would she be left out of most of the story, if she was supposed to end up with him ?
I like Freya(and by extension the other character) as the novels went as she represents the obstacle and also the person that Bell abandon or sacrifice in his pursuit of Aiz. If he gets all the girls while also having Aiz then his work doesnt leave as much impact as leaving one or two hear broken women.

The way you explained it makes me realize that any show can be a harem but doesn't need to end up with the protag having multiple wives. Like Seirei Gensouki for example. I am not that far into the Novel, but it is a harem, I just don't think the protagonist will end up with multiple girls. He already rejected one girl in the prologue. It's also the same with Iska, he makes all the Witch Princesses fall for him but only answers to one of them. I think there are many more harems where the MC only chooses one girl to be with, especially form the way you described it. Maybe I should get into Danmchi? I think Hestia's exuberant personality combining with her loli form and chest made for more eyes watching. Freya's personality is very often cold and calculating and she doesn't have the screen time since the is not Bell's goddess (and couldn't be for story purposes).

All of this was said before volume 13 and 14 where even written. Those volume's where suppose to be one volume because of that he said it would be 20/22 volumes. His since said his unsure but it will be between there. When asked about the ending he said this part of Danmachi story Bell's beginning's was ending not the overall story or Familia Myth. This was last year or maybe even year before around time vol 17 dropped in Japan. Which has lead to people believing in a time skip and sequel series where the story would continue or he could of just been referencing side series. Given how Japanese publishers really don't like going past 20 to 25 volumes per series before ending it or they restart the count with a sequel. Think Index or HSDxD as example's of this. I find a sequel series as the most likely. That is a just imo and am NOT saying that's what's going to happen it could just end I don't know. One thing am sure of thou is this part of the story is ending in next few volumes.

For me the best female characters are Aisha and Ryu or who I like the best. I like Ais and am fine with her being end game. Am also ok with a harem ending even thou I know it's unlikely. While I do understand some criticisms of the show I find a lot of them unfounded. You also seem to be missing some back ground info on Ais and Bell from side stories there more fated than anything else imo.

Omori tends to vary his lengths. I don't remember exactly but the shortest tend to be around 150-170 pages and his longest have been over 400 I'm pretty sure. I read them all fairly quickly.
I have all the novels up to vol 17, all the SO novels, and a couple of familla novels. (30 books in total at this time) some are short others are longer. I am a medium-fast reader, most of the books took me 6-8 hours to read. I think book 1 of the main series is the shortest, books 8 and 14 of the main series are the longest. Hope that helps.

The anime has made it clear that Ais is the winner, but the anime has given no real reason for it. As for the anime, Ais is last place among all of the girls for me due to that. I wish I knew what the anime skipped. Because only things Ais has going for her in the anime is that she's powerful, she trained Bell that one time against her guilds orders, and that when she saved him at the start, which power is no reason. So the only real thing she has going for her is that one training, and saving him at the start. Which those two things vs every other girl in the harem puts her in last place IMO.
When she wins in the anime, it's going to feel REALLY bad, because it's going to feel REALLY weird. Like why would you care so much for this girl who's done next to nothing for him or with him compared to all of the other girls. Unless the anime adds stuff for her.
As for who I'd pick for Bell? I mean Syr(outside of the bad shit she does as Freya), Ryuu, Hestia, and Lili all seem like great picks for him. I mean even Haruhime seems like a better pick than Aiz based on what the anime has shown, and she's been saved by Bell, and helped him win like 3x, and helped his party. Which is nearly double what Ais has done in the anime. Haruhime isn't a good choice because she lacks compared to many others in the anime. ATM as a anime only it feels like a lot of bells feelings for Ais is something a kin to Stockholm syndrome ish. Due to being saved by her at the start. It's obviously not that, but it feels a lot like that ATM.
The manga will add alot more info on how shes fated to be with him. If you like reading, read sword oratoria. I genuinely felt like i was still watching the anime while reading the manga.

The act of baiting fans when you already set the main girl and dangle false flags is my main gripe with authors and why I never bothered with series like this as I'll find more interesting characters and plotlines apart from the MC and know for a fact they won't get their story arc as a result I avoid stories like these as the writing is sub par from their potential, thankfully this makes me appreciate better writing.

Why would I emotionally,monetarily and timely invest to something when I know I won't like what I end up with ? Some ppl like side characters, plot threads and possible story threads the story can follow but the authors ability to set and lead them to their conclusion is what draws us keep going, GoT and Naruto are examples of a show soo many of us spent time with and their conclusion left many empty with GoT being forgotten and thrown to the side and being erased from social talks due to the bad payout, while naruto went from interesting concepts and moral dilemma to BIG MONSTER BATTLES ! as that is what the author wanted but not all of what we looked for sure we liked the battles but along the way we got attached to characters, plot lines and threads that were dropped for something less interesting which is why I critique it because I cared too much.

A lot of people criticise the way Ais is depicted. As long as they aren't trashing the series or the author I might try and debate them but I'm fine with their opinions. You basically went straight into insulting the series while claiming you wouldn't bother with it.
This series has fleshed out many of the side characters very well, as pmoney 5 stated in his post. And many are given their moments to shine, whether in the main series or the SO novels (and the FC novels). In fact we are getting a new 3 novel set based on events that occurred 7 years ago that focuses heavily on Ryu and her familia members, as well as Loki Familia, Freya Familia, and Asfi and Shakti. It wouldn't surprise me if he also makes novels of the old heroes' tales like Argonaut and Fianna.
Maybe if you hadn't been so casually dismissive in your original post, but you were. And I've seen enough bashing of Fairy Tail, Black Clover, and SAO from people who haven't read/watched them but want to feel good by bashing on them that it irritates me. If you don't like it, fine. But don't trash it. Critiquing is one thing, but what you said went beyond that.
For example, I never saw any of the girls except one as even having a chance, because Bell never wavered on his feelings. So there was no baiting going on. At least not in my opinion. I can see a complaint of having all the girls but I don't see them being baited or dangled. Bell shows no interest in any of them. Only volume 14 in a certain situation does any possible other woman happen, although even then Bell's feelings hadn't really changed. The circumstances were driving it and I'm pretty sure Omori said he was going through some struggles and was considering ending it and providing an alternative if that happened.
You mention GoT and Naruto. I have no clue about GoT so I can't contribute but I did watch Naruto. For me, the filler in Shippuden drove me crazy and I personally could not stand either Sasuke or Sakura. I did finish the series but don't plan on rewatching. I tried the first episode of Boruto and was like - not for me. I much prefer Bleach although the timing of the filler arcs was not good in my opinion, and I love One Piece, even with it's flaws. I do get the point of caring too much, but that didn't seem to be the case here as you don't seem to have read or watched much if any of it.

The LN have built up ryuu more than ais. Liaris freese isnt his love for ais but the desire to catch up to her. Nice vid but you're wrong on saying ais has already won.
No Ais doesn't even have her own arc yet and Ais already kinda won since the author already confirmed it and liaris freese is bell's love for Ais.

It’s a miss translation. Wether it was intentional or not, we have no idea. In Japanese, Liaris Freese description is “feelings of love” and depending on how strong those feelings of love are, the faster he will grow.
Ryuu’s character was built up more than Ais simply because she had her own arc before Ais (that happened because Ryuu is far weaker than Ais so it is easier for Bell to help her at his current power level, in order for Bell to help Ais, he will have to become a literal god basically before he can help Ais) but Ais’ character was built up more to mesh well with Bell and ultimately be his girlfriend/wife eventually.

The reason people don't like ais even among the ln character is that she is extremely dull, I think her writhing in general is really weird, I say that after reading the 12 volumes of her spinoff story
She was essentially abandoned by her parents for who knows how long in the dungeon and so she has internalized all.of her emotions and focused on killing monsters since no one was there to save her.
She has slowly been breaking out of her shell and learning to value and trust others. She also has absolutely no alcohol tolerance. We won't even touch on the biggest aspects of her backstory until after the current arc is done and maybe further.
Her internal struggle during the Bell.fight over Weine was extremely emotional and seeing her jealousy at Weine for having someone save her and her will just breaking inside when Weine tore her nails and wing was just heartbreaking.
Her fights against Revis and her giving in to the black flames to try and win until that chime broke through and purified her.
She is an incredibly well-written character who has suffered and is very socially immature. The anime even catches it pretty well if you watch carefully enough. The subtle change of her eyes or to her mouth when certain emotions hit, her lack of knowledge of things aside from fighting.
It's very understandable why she seems a bit robotic but it doesn't take much to see past that either. I look forward to when she opens up finally.
@@madcat1738 I totally agree with you, but whe are really deep in the story and she had 12 volumes, bruh I expected little much than that, the fight over wiene was definitely her highlight for me
@@cesarbrad286 I agree that is deep into the story. However the story has only progressed roughly 6 months in universe by the time of volume 17. SO volume 12 is around 5 months in universe.
That is not a very long time for someone with that type of trauma to break out of her shell. I get the feeling her being charmed and how she felt after is going to speed up her growth a bit. I could be wrong though.

Ais is a dull character even in the ln
Ais is mentally broken of having emotions. Shes supposed to be kinda dull but learning how to express herself slowly. The manga has shown how much shes gotten better at expressing herself throughout the story

First things first, great video, very interesting. Please more of that.
I don't know how it's shown in the novels (i only have read a synopsis), but "Bell is head over heels in love for Ais", i kind of disagree with this. In the anime, i think at this point it's more like a teenager (Bell) has a deep crush on a popstar (Ais). It reminds me so much of girls crying, screaming and fangirling over their favorite boygroupmember, but genderswaped here . In most situations with Ais and/or other girls, Bell is more concerned being a "british gentlemen" or something, instead of coming close to the girl he's "head over heels in love" with.
- Does he confess to her? No.
- Does he want to talk with her or be with her? Not in the first place, cause he thinks of himself unworthy and wants to become as strong as she is to do what ... what's his plan when he succeed ... finaly do something with her or finaly make a move. I mean, he is spending a lot of time and effort into this.
- Does he wants to know her better? Yes, but mostly over other parties involved. Their most direct conversations is about what? Adventureing and combat skills, not about their opposite personality or interests (e. g. Ais only wants to know, why Bell becomes strong so fast).
- Spontanous romantic Situations? The best was on Apollons Ball, when they danced (thx Hermes for that, Bell couldn't and won't have done it). But making 3 godesses jealous, great.
- Do they date? Their only "date" was, when Bell and Ais trained on the walls. Ais had to offer him this. THIS solves a critical moment later, when Ais remembered to want to knock out Bell and give him a lap-pillow afterwards.
- Do they kiss? Nope. No land in sight here.
- Does anyone in the anime sees them as a future couple? IMHO no.
I kind of dislike the indecisiveness and passivness of Bell, cause the story is about PICKING UP GIRLS IN A DUNGEON!!! We are in Seasion 4, total romances: 0 ... I WANT MORE RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROMANCE!!!! :D
The most negative situation was, when he decides to go full aggro against the girl he is "head over heels in love with" (nice "ROAR" from Bell which even shocked Ais ... and me :D ), cause he saw no other solution to get what he wants (protect Wiene) and under any circumstances didn't want to give in. He could have begged to her, he could have given up, maybe negotiated a truce. I mean, we are talking about future lovers here, which strongly trusts each other at this point. The shown outcome was the only one "positive". If Bell hit Ais with his Firebolts (cause Ais failed to evade or he didn't aim properly) or hit her with debris, if Ais uses Ariel (she said she goes all out too, but she lied). Then what ... great faction war... roll credits? Could have Bell really have known or planed this? Cause he decided to act in this way. I didn't see many other all-ins with higher stakes and less chance to win.
There really is some affection on both characters to each other, i acknowledge that. Maybe, when Bell and Ais interact more together and/or have an adventure like Ryuu and Bell, their relationship and feelings will grow into love, but now?
Please forgive me for becoming triggered with "head over heels in love" in relation to Ais and Bell.
Btw. i ship for Ryuu first, Tiona second.
I tend to agree with you at the very first of the store. In part. His skill does indicate the feelings are stronger than just a crush, however, and when he thinks of her his back tends to burn and his skill seems (not confirmed but it does have the two components continued desire begets continued growth and stronger desire begets stronger growth) to go into overdrive.
He is 14 and it seems like he had very little contact with girls in his village. He is very shy to all of them and doesn't know how to present himself, very common for a boy that age.
However he runs from Ais because he doesn't want to look like a fool around her. He doesn't really run from the others (Amazons in Ishtar Familia being an exception) but just acts awkward.
Once they finally talk he actually acts pretty normal around her, even noticing her awkwardness when it came to training. It may have seemed superficial but it did allow them to get to know each other. I think Bell's feelings actually deepened a bit here.
Bell feels, especially after Bete's antics in the pub, that he can only be worthy of dating her if he can stand beside her on the battlefield as equals. So he has that mixed in with the desire to be strong enough to protect her (and obviously others). I kinda think by the time he reaches mid level 5 he'll be about at that stage, so we could see a confession fairly soon.
But the kicker is what happened in 17. He basically says he fell.in love with her all over again. And at this point it definitely isn't a crush. She just brought him back from almost surrendering to Freya.
Ryu is my beat girl and 2nd choice for Bell after Ais. It's a toss-up between Tiona and Aisha for second and third. Ais is 4th.

Bell literally mentioned in LN that he is trying to be stronger to catch up to Ais in order to confess his love to her. You can clearly see how much he is happy after a level up because he feels close to Aiz everytime he level up.
He said he won't accept other girls' feelings. He said that straight to Ryu face. And the whole Hestia familia knows that Bell loves only Ais and Ais alone (Hestia told them behind Bell's back)
late comment. Ais winning is a forgone conclusion. It's nothing special as she was written to be that. I would fully support this if there wasn't a better women for him. Hestia as a god is not a good fit as she cannot give him children. Ryu is the one that should end up with bell, they are literally soulmates as Ais is just the goal bell is trying to reach. Bell should stand with Ais to take out the black dragon, but if the harem is not happening Ais should not be bell's wife.
Given that Bell and Ais are the reincarnation of Argonaut and his wife, I would say that they are the ones who are “literally soulmates”. They find each other again and again through time.

Whatever winning means in this context. Sure, it's just fantasy, so we will never get to know how living together will be for Bell and the winner. In reality it's always best if not the persons "wins" who ist the most "in love" for a short period of time, but the one with the best personality, loyalty and comminicative skills. Ais (at least in the anime) is totally lacking in her communication skills (not only because is very much the introvert type) - therefore: No weifu material!
