    The best thing I did with tretinoin was waiting the 30 min to an hour after washing my face or putting products on. For the longest time I didn’t wait and the shedding of skin was too much I couldn’t use more than a few days a week. Then I started waiting right before bed and stopped the irritation completely was able to do 7 days a week. I’ve found Krave great barrier relief to be one of the best buffers ever.

    I learned tip #10 from you before I started Tret and it was the best thing I did! I started off applying it only once a week and very slowly worked my way up to 6 days a week (which took a year). If I didn’t listen to you I think I would have quit right away. Thanks Kelly!

    I use way less than a pea sized amount. I’ve been using tretinoin for 15 years and I know for a FACT that even if I don’t completely cover my face, that stuff migrates no matter what.

      Yeah it's cell communicating so it's not necessary to get every little inch, that's why it's not advised to spot treat with tret because it spreads!

      Yes i agree with you not necessarily a pea size, i use maybe half of a peas size every night for almost 10 years already. I have upgraded to .1% but using it after a heavily moisterized face.

    I’ve been using tret for 6 years now and always going extra with ceramides, hydrating serums. I love my face and the results, but is hard to wear make up or concealer it gets flaky and my skin pills. Once in a while I would like to wear make up 😢

    Ive been waiting for this video for dermatica! My mum is a doctor and prescribed me Differin as its not OTC in the UK, and I used it up but want something stronger and to target PIH. Dermatica is the only online service in the UK so have been looking at them for when I use up Differin, which is almost finished. You’re video is just in time for me!

    I dot my tretinoin around my face, as well. I learned it from Dr Sam Bunting, her 13-dot technique ❤

    I’m 39 years old and decided to start Tretinoin. I have oily combo skin and now it’s starting to become normal. I’ve been using milk cleanser and the Peach slices snail mucin gel wash off mask for added moisture & hydration. Wondering what your top 3 milk cleansers are…..I know Isntree Yam root is one of your favorites. Thank you for making this video for us Sis! Love you!

    My tip is this.
    Don't skip your morning routine if you have the day off work and you sleep in.
    Your skin still needs that hydration and good soothing ingredients from your morning routine too.
    I just skipped my morning routine and my skin is irritated and peeling now.

    Very informative as usual, Kelly!! Ok, so maybe I’ll go back and try my tretinoin from Curology again. I am not a new user with Tretinoin or retinol type products. It doesn’t seem like I can use my favorite physical exfoliants once a week on non-tretinoin nights. My face becomes bright red and hot. Maybe I just can’t use exfoliating products anymore. It got so bad about a month ago, I stopped using all other products in my skin care routine other than cleansing, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Anyone else experience this?

    Do you have specific recommendations for face washes while on this medication?

  • @ashegar
    @ashegar ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Loved this, Kelly! Layering question, if you have a moment!
    For skin that can be more sensitive and is going into winter, how would you recommend layering Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream, Ceramiaid cream, and the BoJ Retinal Eye Serum? All recommendations from you :).
    I’m especially curious if going in with the Aestura Cream and then the Ceramiaid Cream, wait the 30 mins., and then topping with the BoJ Serum would be a good fit. Is the BoJ Serum over the petrolatum in the Ceramiaid Cream a bad idea?
    Thanks in advance if you have the time to answer! Happy (almost) fall! ❤️

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd suggest using your eye cream prior to moisturizer, use Aestura and then top it all off with ceramiaid. If your skin feels sensitive you can use a little moisturizer before the retinal eye cream but I would not suggest layering eye cream on top of ceramiaid.

    Great video! I’ve been using tretinoin for about three years. I started at .02% and graduated slowly up to .1%. However, my skin wouldn’t stop flaking last year and my provider recommended a reduction down to .07% which had been fine on my skin. That was the magic number for me. I can use .07 nightly when I started I used it about three nights a week gradually to every other night until I could get to every night it is a marathon, but my skin looks great.

      Same 😢! I’m just “graduated” from retinol and started “Hyde” at .05% 3x’s a week - want to stick with it for a few months then grad to “.1”, then… get prescription, but then wonder, hmmm.
      Great podcast! Love the tips! :-)
