Loved visiting the Blackstone Canal several years ago. The competitions over water rights, the technological problems of adapting the canal technology of England to the more rugged terrain of New England, the entrepeneurship, and the linkage of all these issues to the early development of America made for a fascinating trip. The fact that it was fall in New England and the scenery was beautiful made it even better.
