I agree with Cheryl in everything. I diagnosed myself with lipedema since no doctor knows about it. For me starches like potatoes (yes, same as her I used to gain 6 pounds during the night when I had a boiled potato for diner, nobody believed me) but also wheat, less intense with rice, yuca, plantain, basically carbs are not friendly to me.. I'm 64 now and I was starving myself for decades... I found keto and I did it for four years and it did nothing for me on the contrary during that period I gained weight and cellulite like crazy I got to the conclusion that some no starchy vegetables are for me like poison like broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes, etc. you know the ones you eat when "eating healthy" and I had been eating healthy for the last 40 years of my life.. who knew.. so now I have been in the carnivore diet animal based only for 18 months, I have lost 25 pounds but I have had a lot of progress and my body has been reshaping very nicely... I used to use different devices vibrational plates, massagers, etc. but I got tired of them because you use them for an hour a day or so and nature is working against you for those 23 hours left it's like weeding the garden you will never win, never. Please women around the world if you find this video go carnivore you will not regret it.. The fact that this is an issue for women only makes me sure that hormonal issues are a big part of this illness too.
Same experience for me too. Most veggies are poison for me, but fruits are fine - even fruits that masquerade as veggies like squashes and avocados are fine. I just do better on a meat-based diet.
Same for me - gained on keto. I decided to try carnivore January 2024 and lost over 20 pounds in about 2 months. I did not know I had lipedema, diagnosed with fibro over 20 years ago plus arthritis, and I am going to be 72 soon. I wish I had learned of this sooner to have been able to live with less pain. Important to locate grass fed beef, but for me, I try to drain most fat since I suffer with GERD. Pilates has really helped so much.
I am self diagnosed (same problem as the other women here) and I've been eating 80% meat for almost a year now. My cellulite is very noticeably improving! I am struggling to go the last 15-20% to make it fully carnivore, those hyper processed foods are pathologically addictive!
I was diagnosed with SIBO years ago and couldn’t figure out why I kept relapsing after treatment when following all the doctor’s protocol for me. I was just diagnosed with hEDS. I just ran across Lipedema as well and think I am also in that boat. This is all making so much sense. Thank you for this!
I think that the inflammation aspect of lipedema and its progression is such a key point. I love that this is being highlighted now and that this was covered in this interview. Thank you for bringing these important issues to the light!
I am researching the link between allergies and my lipodema. I always have been very slim, but still have lipodema tissue. I then switched to a natural toothpaste and I watched the following things occur: my acne is gone, my lip eczema is gone, I no longer snore, my astma is gone, I am suddenly loosing weight, I no longer wake up tired, and my lipodema seems to decrease, no longer have pain and swelling in my arms and legs, my appetite is gone (I was stress eating because I felt uncomfortable throughout the day). Wonderful Interview Ms. Cheryl.. I enjoyed this tremendously. I am so very glad you have shared this interview & it's a comfort that at some point there is hope for a brighter future - We just need to keep looking for it.
I have had painful lumps on the outside of both thighs for years. Now I experience terrible pain from blood pressure cuffs and have located painful nodules in my upper arms. I saw an article about pain from BP cuffs and they mentioned Lipedema. I think I may have it and will talk to my doctor.
I’m not supposed to eat food. I tried almost everything fasting for days cutting calories, working out until I would get nausea. Three years ago I was so frustrated I took food out of my diet and just drank golden milk. Thats turmeric, ginger, pepper and canned coconut milk. within three months I lost fifty pounds. I didn’t know anything about lipedema until a few weeks ago. I gained all the weight back of course, but I started back and the legs are going down already.
You have put many different pieces together for me. I learned so much from listening to this interview. I am also thinking magnesium deficiency plays a part in these sensitivities. Animal foods are low in magnesium. Greens have lots of magnesium. I believe lack of magnesium creates allergies and sensitivities. So grateful for the many insights you shared. I have wheat allergy and some people suggest dairy protein similar to the wheat protein that it creates antibodies and allergy to wheat. I will see a heart doctor that specializes in lipidema for the first time in two days. This added information will be so helpful.
Such an epiphany - I also have discovered I am highly reactive to sunflower seeds! There's not a lot out there on it. I turned to it as one of my "safe" go-to foods for healthy snacks in high school when I was struggling with minor weight gain (before I found out I was wheat and gluten sensitive). I spent decades eating sunflower seeds... and just in the last few years I realized that I've gotten to the point where if I had more than a small bag of sunflower seeds my joints would be so stiff I could hardly move. A blood test has now confirmed sunflower seeds are indeed an allergen for me.

No surprise there. People can develop allergies to anything they eat too much of for too long. What "too much" or "too long" means different things for different people. We are definitely an omnivore species & need to keep rotating foods, sigh.

I have had painful lumps on the outside of both thighs for many years but no one could tell me what it was. About 4 years ago I was being prepped for an epidural and when they were taking my blood pressure the cuff caused terrible pain. My BP was so high they would not proceed with the procedure until it went down. After a period of time it went down enough for them to proceed. I had a series of epidurals (3) and it happened every time. The same thing happened at a spine clinic and now happens with the BP monitor I have at home. It was decided that this happened because I have a short fat arm. A few days ago I saw something about pain caused by BP cuff and they were talking about Lipedema. Now I can locate painful lumps in my upper arm. I will talk to my primary doctor about this soon. By the way, I'm 81.
I was finally losing weight on an elimination diet. I've been allergic to dairy since my 20's, so i cut all animal products and grains. All the swelling and cellulite disappeared. 3 years have gone by, and I'm back to the animal products and grains. The cellulite and swelling have returned along with the pain. It's time to go back to the elimination diet.
Carnivore has helped me so much. Lost weight, pain is significantly less. Eating this way for 2 years helped me realize my food sensitivities. Gluten and nightshades
Lymphedema and lipedema are two different health issues but in my experience occurs at same time, massage therapy helps reduce the swelling, bouncing on a rebounder helps activate the lymphatic drainage. There are also herbal supplements that help move the lymphatic system. It looks like an over abundance of fat in the body, I stay away from foods esp animal foods that are fed hormones to speed up their weight gain to get them to the market faster. Which eating these foods could produce a reaction from our bodies. I eat organic, free range animal proteins to reduce chemicals that may cause a build up of chemicals in our bodies. @@carolynm4962there is no cure, but liposuction can help - it’s not a cure tho. It’s just a treatment and the only treatment that can remove some of the diseased fat for many women. Still no cure tho, unfortunately.
Doctors aren’t saying liposuction is a cure, there is possibility the fat build up can reoccur depending on your situation, also in USA, LIPEDEMA is not recognized as a disease so treatment isn’t covered on our insurance.
If u don’t have a vibration platform or can’t find one at a gym, a REBOUNDER is closely related. Lightly bouncing is very helpful and NOT AS EXPENSIVE.
I don't have a diagnosis for this specific ailment, but I'm at the doctors' mercy and they can't find what's wrong. Must be depression, you know... Can't lose weight, intolerant to most carbs, hyper mobility. Lymph and fat oedema does fit the bill. Not knowing what is wrong, I'v been searching for the last 30 years or so, trying all sorts of relief and help. For the ache and pains, what really helped, and it's now going on ten years, is Chinese Foot Bath. The ones with electrode arrays. I thought it was a scam, but whatever they do, it works. I was doing some job practicing at a local therapist and he had just bought one to test. Me, being a telecom engineer in my early life, tried to explain to him that it would only be some electrons moving around. Nothing really happen. He retorted that I would test it anyways, and if nothing else, I would get hot foot baths for free on my job time twice a week. I conceded that he had a point, and agreed to test it. At the time I was in serious pain. At least once or twice a week, I was in such muscle pain that all I could do was to sit and moan. Couldn't drive to the job because I couldn't shift the gear stick etc. After ten treatments I suddenly realised the pain was gone. It has started a few times since then, but I bought my own foot bath years ago, so I take a couple of baths and then I'm good again. I also own two Yantra mats (acupressure). They too do something beneficial.
@@MultiMakiah Thank you for this tip. Ehler Danlos I've heard about, my physician frowned at me when I mentioned lipoedema so I guess I'll take another route with that one. After reading dr.eleibeth brights book , I had to stop watching this video once you said you did well on a low fat diet, That diet has overwelmbing evidence on how it’s killing so many and how unethical the people who promoted it.
That's what the keto/low carb tribe claims. Meta analysis among all diet type shows similar effects on weight loss and improved biomarkers when protein and calories are equated. Long and short of it is it doesn't matter what diet as long as it works for you. This being said, I am just learning about lipedema.
I did pick up on several things including saying vegetarian diets don’t have protein sources which is wrong, I eat vegetarian and there are protein sources which can be healthier sources of protein.
I drank a lot of fat with my golden milk. That’s nothing but fat and I lost 50 pounds in about three months. Fat is GREAT when you also take carbs out. My legs were still a little big, but normal big.
@@vintagebodymindsoulradley9151you may be wrong about the plant proteins being healthier. Probably depends on age and exercise intensity. But plant proteins may not be as bioavailable as animal protein. Look up Don Layman and listen to a few of his interviews. I avoid as much as possible but also take allergy shots for airborne inhalants which cannot be avoided.
Have any women found relief / cure by using vibration platforms?
The vibration platform helps me. Cure? No, I think the only cure is liposuction. But the vibration helps, after I do that I elevate my legs.
I find the vibration platform help tremendously. In addition to lipedema, I have restless legs. 15-30 min before bed and I have no problem.
You likely have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Sydrome, Mast Cell Activations Syndrome, and Lipedema . Get an MRT test. Look for a LEAP therapist
@@MultiMakiah Thank you for this tip. Ehler Danlos I've heard about, my physician frowned at me when I mentioned lipoedema so I guess I'll take another route with that one. Mast Cell Activation I never heard of. Worth looking into. I'm also thinking parasites as I've been abroad and out in nature quite a lot earlier in life, before the full onset of the problems. I'll see if there even are any LEAP therapists in my country.
@bonnarlunda have you been tested for Lyme disease?
@@nichellehowell Nope. Not that I know of. If I were and there was a problem, I assume someone would have said something.
But I don't have Lyme disease high on my list. I'm one of those fortunate people who aren't considered food by mosquitoes and ticks. I only had one as a child. It was small and we got it out quickly, didn't result in any redness and it was many years before TBE became a problem here.
Which is the best food sensitivity test did she recommend for patients to buy directly?
I know two, but you need a doctor to order the tests. Precision Point tests 88 foods..IgE, IgG and another factor allergy complement.
Alletess Medical Lab...l just found this lab and have not had any testing...they test IgE, IgG, IgA...not sure how many foods or cost...l am working on airborne inhalents...molds, etc.
Lymphedema is NOT one of my problems, but my brother does.
Is there a good food allergy test or a food sensitivity test out there snd where do we get it?
My youngest daughter and I took the Everlywell home tests (drops of blood onto a card that you send in for testing). My doctor said the home food sensitivity tests are surprisingly accurate, especially the ones that use blood rather than saliva.
I can't find the
Facebook page. Help please
Thank you for this informative presentation!!!
Try to keep food and water as close to 6/7 as possible the body can neutralize acid as it leaves the stomach but not alkaline..
Dairy bothers me
I totally agree with ..Sheryl ..
Here in Canada a young endocrinologist in the first blood work, she said that I had a gene mutation! The story is long same things this guest talks about….nobody really knows or understand you are not cheating….
Can someone share the best diet with me
I've had a lot of luck with carnivore/ketovore
Carnivore without fruit or honey. Possibly no dairy or eggs depending on how sensitive you are.
Is Lipedema an autoimmune disorder?
Looks like it, but needs research to confirm.
Food intolerance is autoimmune issue. I have food intolerances. So far the only thing I can consume is beef once daily and 1 quart of goat milk. I ate chicken and bloated and gained weight.. legs are painful.
After reading dr.eleibeth brights book , I had to stop watching this video once you said you did well on a low fat diet, That diet has overwelmbing evidence on how it’s killing so many and how unethical the people who promoted it.
So, are you saying that your solution is eating more fat?
If you are (or when you are) in your late 60s like me, you may want to boost that animal protein.
And BTW, I was vegetarian through my 40s and 50s. I am still suffering and clearing oxalate toxicity issues.
Yeah just go find that doctor when there's not around you kind of hard to do
Research your allergy testing because they are not all the same.
Why do you keep using the term "ladies"....my brother has a terrible time with this disease and l think he is put off by the thought that this is something specific to women's problems.
I am researching the link between allergies and my lipodema. I always have been very slim, but still have lipodema tissue. Since about 15 days I know I am allergic to sls (found in toothpaste, dermatological products and cleaning products).
Now I am starting to wonder if this allergy has anything to do with my lipodema…. I feel like there is no research about these two topics relating to each other.
So what if….. 🥹
