@@whitneypea You could obscure/frost the closet windows on the inside with a spray paint I got at Home Depot. Maybe leave the top 12 inches (2 last highest windows) unobscured for more natural light and privacy. I do this to all my clear windows where I feel privacy is needed in lieu of curtains, but natural light will still come through. :)
I never understood the whole "organize clothes by color" method. When I'm deciding what to wear I'm aiming for a look/style/function over color. I never think "today I want to wear a blue shirt". I think, "today it's going to be gloomy and chilly so I want to wear a soft, cozy sweater". Then I go to my cozy sweater section. I'm sure some people get dressed by color but I think, like you said, it's more for aesthetics than function. So I'm with you on that part not being important.
I mainly wear colour, and for me I go crazy if all the colours are mixed. It’s not great for the eyes and makes it very difficult to find something. So I have all of my clothes colour coordinated. To be fair though I have 3 meters of closet and plenty of space to organize both on type of item and colour🤭☺️

I absolutely love the Konmari method, it’s life changing and I did do it in our last house in my closet, so really, it won’t take me too long to do this one but MAN, it’s always just getting yourself up to doing it! Love the wall duster! I cleaned out my closet a year ago-- matching hangers and organized by category, too (so satisfying!). It was amazing-- and rather embarrassing-- to see so much come out of one space! Your closet looks very classy now 😊

For me personally, I get rid of anything that I haven’t worn in two seasons of the clothing item, for example a sweater, if I haven’t worn it in two winters it goes! Unless it’s formal wear, I usually will hang onto it. Any clothing item that doesn’t bring me joy, I will also get rid of, unless again if it’s for work or something and I have to wear it. I hope that makes sense ☺️
If you had more shelving and shoe space, you could see everything, rather than having things in containers, that you have to dig through. There is a lot of space to put up a shoe, boot etc area, a bag area, sweater area etc. There is a lot of wasted space in the closet, that could be put to good use, free up drawer space etc. just a few constructive suggestions. Love the overhaul, great job. Plus hope you get back to your own career - is sooo important, children grow up and leave plus lots can happen, so ALWaYS have your own career. Best of luck :)

i m not professional though...u can hang ur clothes exact at mirror hanger...put ur pants onto beside hanger rod ..shoe box under pants will be more visible n mirror against another wall will serve you more... that's my opinion ❤️

Be interesting to kno how many items in your wardrobe. I just counted mine after watching a couple of videos where they went down to 50 and 30 items. I'm about 70 not including shoes, underwear, sleepwear etc. I like watching these as motivates me to get rid of more
I should have counted! Definitely had more than 70! I’ve also been hanging onto my clothes since college, so about 5 years. It was definitely time for a closet clean out for me lol
Fabulous job! You are going to put the curtains back in the closet window, aren’t you? Your clothes will be bleached by the sun (even if the window faces north) otherwise. Also, the Huggable Hangers do a better job of not distorting the shoulders of your clothes.
