My Grandpa owns an almond orchard. he says you only call them almonds when theyre in the tree. after that theyre "amonds" becuase to get them out of the tree, you have to shake the "L" out of 'em
this is for the conversation at 52:00 they had planed to bomb kyoto, but one of the higher up military guys had went there on his honey moon or something and he thought it was beautiful so they picked a different location.
Austin is not "wrong". HE does not like things like wine, or coffee, or fun, but he's not saying those things can't be good for other people. He accepts that he is the outlier, he just resents people telling him he also should enjoy the same things as everyone else.
Has Northernlion broken his mic or something? Lately he seems to be really blowing out when he gets exasperated. Or is For Hono(u)r messing with his levels every time or something?
Yeah, it's been getting worse and worse over the last month. People keep mentioning it in NLSS chat too but it isn't being addressed yet. Probably would be worth tweeting him about it
There is a goal-line in our everyday lives and most of the time we don’t even recognize it when it’s right in front of our faces. We don’t even know it is there, but it is. Punch It In will guide you in changing your life and accomplishing what you truly want, but only if you commit to the team. What team you ask? If you decide to get this book, you will join a team of many people (including myself) who are dedicated to punching it in whenever they get near their goal-line. If you are ready to buy in, and I mean ALL IN, we can’t wait to have you. Commit the next 25 days of your life to following this book and you will be pleased with the results. PUNCH IT IN is written by Dan Gheesling, winner of the CBS show Big Brother. Since writing PUNCH IT IN, Gheesling has returned to Big Brother 14 for the 2nd time in hopes to reach his personal goal of winning the CBS show a 2nd time. Hopefully Dan can PUNCH IT IN!
i can't remember the specifics but i've definitely read somewhere that there's some super bittering thing in coffee and wine that your genetics decide whether you can taste or not. people who have the gene to taste it have to sugar and milk up their coffee, and they prefer white wines over red/"dryer" wines (because there's less of the bitter thing). people who can't taste it usually prefer red wines (like how Rob said he can't do white wine) and they don't understand the problem with black coffee/find other people's preferences WAY too fucking sweet. supposedly this also has to do with why red wines are served with fattier meats and white wines aren't, fat and the Bitter Thing(TM) combine or whatever. the fat helps the wine go down smoother, and the wine gets rid of the fat buildup on your tongue (becoming a palette cleanser) tl;dr i felt really bad for Austin during that segment :(
I mean, in my opinion, one of the best karaoke songs, as long as you have a partner, is Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meat Loaf. That song is about 8 minutes long, but the whole song tells a story, and that's why I love it!
In this episode; Northernlion doesn't know the meaning of Biomechanical, also thinks H.R. Giger puts "exhaust pipe" on his Alien designs not realizing that the Aliens are actually giant genitals.
I love how with the vasectomy talk NL goads Austin and Rob to give unreasonably young ages then NL tries to come back with the perfect logical extreme including basically anyone of any age, adding basically psychological testing to determine who should or would have the right to have a vasectomy. Basically perfect NL content.
The Switch talk at the beginning is a little annoying. Nintendo did provide a lot of stores with extra units for the launch to cover people who didn't pre-order. I don't like the automatic calling out of "artificial scarcity" just because someone couldn't get something. The NES Classic I believe was underproduced intentionally, but they'd be stupid to do it with a console launch.
The cloudy thing was Nagasaki. The bomb fell off target due to the weather. Clouds actually saved a lot of lives that day. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were both chosen because they were centers of Japanese wartime industry. Tokyo had been firebombed for months. There was nothing left to nuke.
There's no way in hell NL isn't gonna be the guy on a TLC special that only eats chicken nuggets, and he will insist that the host refers to them as "nugs."
I feel weird doing Karaoke, even though I'm a great singer, because I recently learned that the vast majority of songs they have/ I know are SPECIFICALLY British. I am an American. (From Idaho.)
i know this is old but on the topic of the nuking of hiroshima and nagasaki. we did drop flyers that is true and i think kinda cool. the reason those 2 were chosen was because they were manufacturing stuff for the war there. on the topic of not bombing them and like destroying part of the coast line. I think by leveling a city it quantified the power of it. even if you take away the human loss just walking around the cities where you can be like there was a school here apartment there and supermarkets and now its just ash. people could put into numbers just how bad it was and how bad it could be like what if they hit tokyo. once you put in the life just the shear loss of people and the fact that shadows were literally sheared into the ground. there is also the fact that its harder to cover up a missing city.
Sorry for the delay in getting these up on TH-cam! They're en route :)
Northernlion shame eggman. Shame.
Northernlion hey how's it going
Northernlion come here often ;-)
Wow, you better be sorry. You big nerd, you are ACTUALLY providing us content late? So rude, better be ashamed about releasing us content with a delay.

You know I thought the Santeria joke was going to fall flat and then here comes Baer at like 900 decibels. 10/10 not disappointed.
In 1999, AOL purchased Moviefone for $388 million
IS THE THUMBNAIL SEAL?!
Jack Yount Yeah. Kiss from a rose

The worst thing to paint on the new baby's nursery wall is obviously the old baby...
"What's the worst tasting thing we can find? That's good now. I'm refined."
Austin is right for once.
Logan is honestly the best Wolverine Movie and might be my favorite Marvel movie ever.
I watched it with my parents and they didn't like it. The movie is so good, and I still don't know why they don't like it.
Robert Stenzel were they fans of the xmen movies previously??
Lunatic Fringe Yes they were. Well, I should say "are" since they still enjoy them.
Best live action superhero movie in general.
"Your body doesn't like things that aren't good for you"
*eats 10 gallons of butter crunch*
It's because they both wish they could sing like Seal's Kiss From a Rose, now stop asking

Solid A tier docket right there
Anybody else looked up "Anilingus" on Wikipedia to see the picture Baer was talking about?
2:01:25 I think the better question is why are dung beetles burrowing into someone's skin?
Jeff Goldblum was in The Grand Budapest Hotel. Very briefly but still very good. Also why does no one know of The Grand Budapest Hotel...
Something about the thumbnail in order to get top comment.
Something witty to try jumping on the bandwagon
egg Daddy finally uploaded a nlss, it's been 84 years
I'm so glad they know about Tongo and his cover of Chop Suey
I mean, in my opinion, one of the best karaoke songs, as long as you have a partner, is Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meat Loaf. That song is about 8 minutes long, but the whole song tells a story, and that's why I love it!
Man, I love this one.
That *THUMBNAIL THO* GET *CRACKED* ON!
My wisdom teeth are growing in diagonally (sideways) too, they're wedged so they'll never come out of the gums.

Is London 2012 on steam? where can I get it? I haven't been able to find it so far :/
NL wtf, its like 2am rn you literally are ruining my sleep cycle
The Switch talk at the beginning is a little annoying. Nintendo did provide a lot of stores with extra units for the launch to cover people who didn't pre-order.
I don't like the automatic calling out of "artificial scarcity" just because someone couldn't get something. The NES Classic I believe was underproduced intentionally, but they'd be stupid to do it with a console launch.
Just cause of your confusion, now I really want you to play fire emblem games

I saw the dark knight rises in IMAX and that shit was tight
So whats the story behind this thumbnail?
I'm guessing it's Seal singing his classic hit, Kiss from a Rose, since they referenced him a fair bit last month.
So Ryan finished cleaning up the sidewalk finally?
the 2nd picture in the left column on the malferlay looks like ZeRoyalViking
I mean, Rob, they only had two. So, if Japan didn't capitulate after seeing it explode off the coast, they kinda played their hand.
Props to Jemoni for making the malferlay.
no NLSS since 27th?
Tokyo's imperial palace was removed from bombing consideration for its cultural significance, apparently.
I miss London 2012
The greatest dcket I ever did see
There's no way in hell NL isn't gonna be the guy on a TLC special that only eats chicken nuggets, and he will insist that the host refers to them as "nugs."
hey egg
@49:00 - do you mean sudden death? appropriate...
Karaoke generally cuts out the instrumental solos.
I feel weird doing Karaoke, even though I'm a great singer, because I recently learned that the vast majority of songs they have/ I know are SPECIFICALLY British. I am an American. (From Idaho.)
New thumbnail New life
So is Pax really an excuse for all of (or most) the NLSS crew to hang out in person?
That thumbnail is perfect XD

Nice it's always sunny in Philadelphia reference
whats the story behind the new thumbnail?
It's "Kiss from a rose". The song from Val Klimer Batman. Google it
I really wonder if the people who made London 2012 have ever bothered even watching olympic weightlifting
I love you NL, but we're defiantly not going to discover immortality in my generation
Ryan Thorne definitely... Well I see your point
Listening to Rob talk about the bombs dropped on Japan was insufferable.
"XMen are boring" magneto is one of the best written marvel character of all time
