    I Love the way you make your Videos . Giving a 'feel' for what it`s like just walking down the street etc. Most U tubers have the Camera on themselves the whole time 'explaining ' as if it`s all about them . that gets old . You make it about 'the place' , very much appreciated . Thank you .

    Thanks for the video, Sly. I really appreciate your comments and observations on the places you are visiting. Guayaquil seems to be a very clean and modern city, and one that has not been ruined by being too touristy.

    There is a legend in reference to ceviche that I would like to share. During the conquest, a group of Spaniards got lost near the coast and after a few days they were hungry. They were able to find a group of indigenous young guys and told them they were hungry. The indians offered themselves to catch shrimp and they carried with them some lemons. After a few minutes they prepared ceviche and the Spaniards loved the food so much that one of them shared the recipe with Louis XV cook. It happened that Louis XV had demanded from his cook to prepare every day a different dish or the cook will be beheaded. Well, the poor guy was running out of dishes and one day he prepared for the king ceviche and french fries, which was also a south American dish. The king liked so much that demanded from the cook to prepare ceviche and french fries every day. Since then the fried potatoes had been known as "french" fries.

    Excellent video!!!.. btw don't forget to visit Samborondom and all the amenities you can find in that location. Guayaquil is also called "the pearl of the Pacific", the "money town" and "the industrial and economic center of Ecuador " that's why Guayaquil doesn't appear in the top list for retirees. Guayaquil is a "melting pot" since people from different regions, countries and continents come to work in our city. I really hope you had a great time in my GUAYAQUIL DE MIS AMORES !!! 😁😁😁😁👍👍

    I recently spent a week or so in Guayaquil. One thing i think was missing from this very good video was the weather (maybe it's in another video). I was told that there are a few months a year where Guayaquil gets very warm. First week of September it was similar to Medellin weather wise, but i hear that it's more like Cartagena or Cali Colombia in the winter months. If i visit again it will be during the low heat months. I also got lucky my first day on the coast with great weather, and our tour guide pushed us to do everything, and it was s good plan because our second day was crappy weather which is normal there for the Pacific coast beach towns. FYI, the buses in Ecuador play violent movies for USA standards, if traveling with kids.

I live in NYC and have seen Ecuadorian food/people but shit be so expensive I rather travel with the money and get authentic experience. I’m coming! 🇪🇨

    Well put video, the gastronomy in Guayaquil is on point! One thing though, Quito’s gastronomy is no stereotypical at all!! There are amazing and original dishes thanks to the more than a hundred varieties of corn, the pork dishes such as hornado and fritada are another level there, same with empanadas, and literally thousands of different soups, such as logro de papa which was even included in the recipe book to commemorate Elizabeth Queen platinum jubilee celebration.

    His channel was better when he was in Medellin. It was more well rounded and appealed to men. Now it seems very vanilla and PG-13 as if he is applying for a job at the history channel. Does anyone know why ?

    • @Justin-wk5mi
      @Justin-wk5mi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tend to agree but maybe he can clarify. I think it has to do with not wanting youtube to give him strikes or be demonetized. If its family friendly advertisers are more willing to work with you. Just my theory though..

    • @VS-ys7gw
      @VS-ys7gw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ecuador usa el dolar como moneda, será x eso q es más costoso con relación a Medellin, sin embargo Medellin es otra coudad muy hermosa tiene parecido a Guayaquil en su infraestructura y urbanismo aunque en climas son diferentes, Medellin es mas primavera y lluvias y en Guayaquil es clima caribeño tropical y tb con muchas lluvias a inicio del año 😂.
      Saludos.
