@@ncwordmanTo me love is cherishing something while acknowledging that there may be imperfections that need to be worked on. It's not wanting to replace the object you cherish just because it's not perfect. It's a willingness to seek alternative ways to maintain the cherished object while making changes. Usually it takes patience and hard work. I'm suggesting freedom of speech, freedom to practice your own religion, freedom to go from one area of the country to another, freedom to drive a car (for most of us), freedom to vote (for most of us), freedom to go to a library, freedom to get an education. Of course some of these freedoms I'd like to see expanded...unlike #45 and his followers who recently removed the freedom for women to get good health care.

That is why the Founding Fathers deemed *ALL* religions unfit for modern, civil governance.
The *1st Amendment's Establishment Clause* prohibits the government from making any law, _“respecting an establishment of religion.”_
This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another. It also prohibits the government from unduly preferring religion over non-religion.
*Constitution Article VI Supreme Law - Clause 3 Oaths of Office*
_"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; _*_but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."_*
This means nobody is ever required to swear to a god or on the Bible, or any other religious book for an oath of office. They may choose a god or religious book, but none is required.
Thomas Jefferson and Calvin Coolidge did not use a Bible in their oath-taking ceremonies. Theodore Roosevelt did not use the Bible when taking the oath in 1901, nor did John Quincy Adams, who swore on a book of law, with the intention that he was swearing on the constitution.
_"In this enlightened age and in this land of equal liberty, _*_it is our boast,_*_ that a man's religious tenets will not forfeit the protection of the laws, nor deprive him of the right of attaining and holding the highest offices that are known in the United States."_

....only a few times in history the Senate unanimously agreed on anything.
A 2018 Supreme Court Ruling re-affirmed this statement, from The Treaty of Tripoli.
The Supreme Court released an opinion on May 14, 2018 in Murphy v. National Collegiate Athletic Assn., 584 U. S. (2018), Justice Thomas in his concurring opinion wrote:
_"The Treaty of Tripoli was passed by the Senate and signed into law by President John Adams. As such, it is a "legislated text" which must be read "textually". The lower courts in this case read a hypothetical legislative intention into the text by dismissing Article 11 as "a mere formality". The language itself makes a clear direct statement that _*_our government is not based on the Christian religion and any attempt by a government official to represent our government as Christian contradicts the text and the historical understanding of our founders."_*
_"Who does not see that the same authority which can establish Christianity, in exclusion of all other Religions, may establish with the same ease any particular sect of Christians, in exclusion of all other Sects?"_

*- James Madison 4th president* (A Memorial And Remonstrance, On The Religious Rights Of Man: Written In 1784-85)

“Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord” is a quote from the Bible that appears in Romans 12:19 and Deuteronomy 32:35. The full quote in Romans 12:19 reads, “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord”.

Biologists are teaching sex is assigned at birth and human life starts when mom WANTS a baby. They define woman with the word woman and teach a man is a woman if they say so. They dogmatically shove fairy tales of millions and billions of years gone and millions and billions of years to go down every public school child’s throat. They teach people are clumps of cells so if mom doesn’t end them atheists and an anti-theist in Columbine and Covenant, respectively, will.

Sorry, and with respect, but I don't believe you. I am sure he has never read ANY page of the bible. I am sure that if someone asked him, he would not even know the first three words of the opening statment of Genesis, the first book in the bible. (In the beginning). And to make it even easier for him, I'm sure he would not even know that the last word in the bible is "Amen". Why would he, if he's not a Christian? And even when he says he has "many bibles in his home" and that he is "a PROUD Christian", it proves he knows nothing about Christianity, as one of the 7 deadly sins in the bible is the sin of pride: Proverbs 11:2 "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom". Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" . Mark 7:21-23 Jesus said: “pride is one of the many evil things that come from within and defile a man”.

@hopefulcanadian I completely agree with you. I went to a church and a few weeks after I started the pastor mentioned that those who haven't paid their thirds into the church, they could do so. I asked the person next to me what he meant and she explained that it was a third of your annual salary before tax. I told her that I only got £25 per week of which I had to pay £20 into my grandma's house which left me with £5 per week to live on, so if he thought I was giving him a third of my annual pay before tax, he could take a run and jump into the river Lagan! Admittedly this was back in the 80's but still it was a heck of a lot of money to expect.

@@seanlahm4826 Then you don't know the definition of what a fairy tale is. I do. That's why I wrote what I did. Fairy tales are self-contained short stories; the Bible is not. A fairy tale is different from mythology too. Fairy tales are contained within the genre of folklore. And while folklore can be where myths, fairy tales, and religions originate, they branch off and become different things. It's like you're saying species that are distantly related to each other are the same: They are not.
