I bought this diffuser because I have been so frustrated with my curls. This was the best money spent. Although I don’t have the patience for the great hair routine you do, it definitely has improved my curls
What bonnet do you recommend? I’ve tried a few but either they stretch out too quickly or they feel too right & smash the front of my hair down while sleeping
The curlSmith hair products have never worked for me, but I was in the market for a blow dryer and diffuser last May. I got the Curlsmith blow dryer/diffuser and it is the best one ever . I definitely get a lot more definition, shrinkage, and root definition . I have no regrets!!!!
Thank you so much for slowly going through the process. The curl Smith looked amazing on you. My hair is just like your hair so you give me things to try to make my curls as beautiful as yours 😊
I just received the Curlsmith dryer/diffuser after seeing one of your videos demonstrating it. I got it for the huge diffuser, but also for the lower heat to hopefully allow me to dry my hair more often without frying it. Thanks so much for the informative videos!
I got my curlsmith and LOVED IT so I went ahead and got the DETOX and SHINE products from curlsmith. So far I’m doing so much better and so much less frustrated. Thank you Gina!
Thank you for the tutorial. I just wanna comment on your makeup! While it's gorgeous, it's also delicate and let's your hair be the star of your video!
could you address some techniques that people with shorter hair can use both for styling and diffusing? for example if i'm upside-down I can't see what I'm doing. My hair is just below collar bone when stretched
I tried your routine, with damp hair, applied gel again after scrunching with a microfibre towel. Then diffused like you did (without brushing). Amazing results, thank you!! Will stick with this now I think! 😊❤
Wow. Never thought of having hair against a surface cuz I always use my hands to do what you’re doing with counter. Can you give me your opinion of the two curl dryer’s I would like to know the difference between the travel and and the originals.thanks Gina appreciate you
The travel one folds and is smaller. All the settings and temps are the same. It has a dual plug option for traveling. It's much easier because not as bulky. The diffuser is 6" rather than 8". That difference is OK except that I found the wind speed was stronger so blows the hair around more. I think this is because there's less air dispersion. I do as Gena and swavy Curly Courtney do and use the travel dryer with the 8" diffuser from the full size. Best of both worlds. Gena shows the full size in this video. I was able to get a good deal from ebay for the full size so I could get the big diffuser. I wish they'd sell the diffusers separate as they are interchangeable.
Thank you so much. Do appreciate you telling me this. There really is some difference between the two dryers. Just don’t know which one is better to get. I usually don’t bow dry but just now learning it’s not always good to air dry. There so much that goes into hair. Always learning something new. Thank you.
I usually wash in the morning on my WFH days, that way I can keep my crunchy hair for quite some time and don't struggle on my days after (just use a couple drops of oil before heading out the door).
Any tips for diffusing with a bad neck? I can on tip my head upside down or side/side so long to diffuse until my neck hurts too much. My hair is thinner but very long curls
Edit: I lay my hair dryer on the sofa cushion, sit on the floor with my back to the sofa, and plop my hair on a hair towel laid out on the sofa cushion and turn on the diffuser. I move the diffuser get all different angles, and turn my head side to side gently to side. (I stack 2 sofa cushions to get the right height for me and my short hair.) Bad neck here👋 My hair is short, and it just barely touches my shoulders, but I have a few tips that may help. I'm trying to figure out how to explain them, so I'll add an edit to this in a bit.
I’ve actually been dealing with some nerve issues and neck pain which often get flared up on wash day lol. I find diffusing side to side and bending at the waist helps versus only tilting my head. The Curlsmith dryer also has a kickstand which I use when upside down so I don’t have to hold it
Hello, could you make a video on tips for how to diffuse extremely long curly hair? I have hair past my bottom & I always have the problem of my ends drying out & getting frizzy first before my roots get dried. I’m just not sure how to make sure my roots get dried w/o my ends drying too fast while still being able to get the volume at the roots from the diffuser. Thanks!!
I didn’t know when to use the heat shield so it’s good to hear the “order”. But I bought a heat shield/mousse in one can. Should I use mousse/heat shield, then curl cream, then gel?
Hi Gena, have you tried the brand Pattern? I got a travel size set as a gift but I haven’t been able to find reviews from people with fine curly hair in the 3A-3B range. Thanks.
Hi Gena! Thanks for this diffusing video, I am definitely gonna try it! I just want to ask you something about your styling, when you say you style damp, exactly how much water is still in your hair? Is there still a little squish sound or is it completely damp? Sorry if its a weird question, but I have very fine 2b/2c waves and really struggle to find the "right" amount of water to style.. my hair holds on to moisture like crazy and takes forever to dry, although it's fine..🤦 I think your method could work for me, I can only hope!😊
Advice please! I'm going to Disney world (US) for 10 days and therefore alot of waterparks so my hair is gonna see alot of salt sun and chlorine - any products you gals recommend to help combat these aside scarves? I have 2C curls, thin hair but high density, struggle with volume and curl definition so looking for lightweight products, strong hold and anything that'll thicken my hair too!! I live in the UK so not sure how my hair will react to US weather!
Hi! I am so frustrated with my curls!!!!!! They used to be beautiful rings uniform not much frizz then out of no where it’s like they forgot how to curl?? It’s soo soo frustrating
Hi Gena, could you make videos using different brands? It’s usually Ouidad, Curlsmith or AG products, which gets a little repetitive :( I watch every video and would love to see you try different products!❤️
Yes! Did you catch my recent one about how to get more clumps using Umberto Giannini? It’s a great drugstore brand. Also my tutorials can be recreated using any products. 😊
I bought this diffuser because I have been so frustrated with my curls. This was the best money spent. Although I don’t have the patience for the great hair routine you do, it definitely has improved my curls
I’m so glad to hear you like it!
I love mine too!

Everyone seems to love it! 🙌🏼

Love my CS diffuser too. This the best method I’ve learned from you, I covers my cowlicks since I have low density. Thank you so much

The Curlsmith Defrizzion Dryer is da 💣 and worth every penny!
Another 5 star plus for you! You keep refining and refining until i personally can give it another try. Thanks so much.
Thank you!

Your hair is lovely❤
Thanks Gena I really need this video ❤

I love sheamoisture products for my curly/very wavy hair & another great product is the wave revival gel serum by rhyme & reason!
Great video!

Love it!
Do all your recommendations work on curly short hair..like short bob type styles

Can you do the earthling bar shampoo and condictioners?. Thx
I’ve never heard of that one but I do love The Vida Bars. ❤
Since i have so much hair and also long. Shark hair dryer work great for me.
I don't use leave in, use the heat shield then creme then gel. Is that ok?
Yep! That’s what I usually do too
Can u maybe do a video of how to style/diffuse for elongate curls but still maintaining definition and length?
Sure! You would essentially just hover the whole time though without plopping over the surface.

Do you have a cheaper dryer/defussor toys recommend?
She has a video where she tries different dryers.
This one now has a travel size too btw.
The heat protection is before the curl cream?
Yeah I use Miracle Shield. It says on directions after leave in but before all other products.
It’s supposed to be used after leave in and before other stylers like cream or gel
Yes, but I use it first before leave in. I find it works better for my hair.
I didn’t know when to use the heat shield so it’s good to hear the “order”. But I bought a heat shield/mousse in one can. Should I use mousse/heat shield, then curl cream, then gel?

Yes it was a bit heavy
It’s good but too heavy for me since I too have fine hair.

What brush would you recommend for very thick long curly hair? My daughter doesn't like very separated curls. She prefers more clumps I think
Would hammock diffusing be the same as putting your hair on a flat surface
Yes anything that evenly presses the hair upwards

Thoughts on dry shampoos and hair powders?? I only see straight hair people using them really…? I’m in a major experimental hair phase right now😂
I've been looking at this hair dryer for a while. Just can't justify spending that much money.
