Embraer is a solid aircraft manufacturer with an almost perfect safety record. Hope that they will target different market segments to rival Boeing and Airbus duopoly.

I am a fan of a Embraer, however, unless Boeing goes even worst with the 737 and the 777x I cannot see that happening as its too much of a financial risk...
Embraer would need to - at this point - come up with a "unicorn" plane : cheaper, fuel efficient and capable of competing with the a320/737, 787/a330neo or a350/777....though asks...

This is the mistake Bombardier made with the C Series. It’s a great aircraft but major airlines didn’t want the additional cost of training pilots and service personnel on a new aircraft type. Only after it was marketed as an Airbus did the sales take off. It’s really tough to break into the duopoly. China seems the likely 3 major player but likely not until the next generation of their jets.

The largest market is not in the regional, 140 and under market, but rather in the large narrowbody section of 180 seats and up.
If Embraer wants to muscle into that sector it will need an aircraft larger than the 195 E2.

In my opinion, Embraer would need to create a stretched E195-E2 with similar range to better compete against Boeing and Airbus. Embraer did consider building a stretched E195 called the E195X. It might be time to dust off those plans with the E2 updates and see if this would be a viable plane. I will call it the E199-E2 for now.

There's enough desperation out there, so Ambraer does indeed have a good chance of increasing its market share with the E2.
Regarding Cathay Pacific, I don't think the airline will ever be able to regain all its pre-pandemic passenger numbers. Reason being: the CCP has done a wonderful job of creating distrust with the international community. Consequently, Hong Kong is now looked upon as a risk destination by many. Besides, the city is a shadow of its former greatness. Again, thank you CCP.

An available E2 with up to 146 seats (E2-195) is still better than no plane available at all. And the E2-190 has eben more range if necessary.
And Embraer has an impeccable safety record for its planes too.

Air Canada wants to expand its network into Europe and make all European destination year round, but as with their expansion out of Vancouver and Montreal, they don’t have the aircraft. The fleet is aging and already stretched thin. Although they have orders for new A321neo XLRs, and 787-10s, I don’t think it’s enough. The Embraer's narrow narrowbody makes it harder for legacy carriers to offer their full business class product. And those airlines only care about their business class product.
Consider also the mix of 737s that have been ordered. Only WN has wanted the smaller 737-7, and airlines prefer the -8 and -9. So the Embraer is below their prefered capacity.

Embraer's biggest challenge is to convince a U.S. carrier to order its 190 and 195 E2 Jets. United should be the primary target because it is suffering the most from the MAX delays . Embraer can also target Alaska and Southwest as the MAX delays are affecting them also. Embraer can target Delta who gas orders for MAX planes as well. They also fly the Airbus A220, so they know how to incorporate these aircraft into their fleet.
Finally, American has a large order for MAX planes and a large order for E175 jets for its regional services But what if they ordered the 195 E3 jets? It would be easy to transition flow up pilots into these jets and AA could have them sooner than the MAX planes.
