I have also noticed in gunfights between Cubans and Haitians, 90% times Haitians win, even if the battle is in Little Havana instead of Little Haiti. The Cuban-Haitian story is one of the most interesting story in the entire game, sad they removed Haitians from VCS due to the controversy. Also after the drug factory gets blown out the Haitians put a permanent hit on Tommy. I was ok with fighting them solely cause Aunt Poulet rudely phoned me after Dirty Lickins telling me she didn't want to see me there anymore, she used me and ditched me, so I was ok with fighting the Haitians and loved their aggressive attacks, good thing they had small pistols unlike GTA 3 gangs with powerful shotguns' and all , anyway thanks for another amazing video :)

I played VCS in 2010-2011 and the Cholos territory is still called Little Haiti.
@@vlad_47 Against Cubans I mostly saw Haitians win but against Vercetti gang I saw the Vercetti gang win both with simple pistols as well as upgraded uzi and later kruger after progressing further. Vercetti gang really is the most powerful gang in Vice City after Tommy takes over Vice City.
I love how you always give a very informed overview of historical/cultural context in these GTA games. These are all games we grew up with and it’s great that we’re now using them as a resource to learn (even if some of the representations are a little overexaggerated and partial caricatures).

We can see one such reference in the mission, Naval Engagement, where Umberto Robina says to Tommy, "Poppa, don't serve this snake in the straw. You are two-face Tommy. You are either two-faced or a wimp baby boy." That can be a reference to Tommy working for Haitians. But this one can be false also since there is no compulsion on completing the missions before Naval Engagement. You can start doing the Haitian missions after you complete Naval Engagement also. Although I think this is either an overlook from Rockstar's side or they may have planned something else for this series of the story but it ended up getting cut, since the dialogues of Umberto does not make much sense to me before Tommy's involvement with Haitians.

First of all, the mission could be completed before Tommy started working with Haitians as you pointed out. The second thing is, we can clearly see that when Tommy was doing something against the Cubans, he was hiding. Both during "Bombs Away!" and "Dirty Lickin's" Tommy was helping Haitians from a distance, which suggests that he was in some control even though Auntie Poulet dominated his mind, and he didn't want to blow his cover. Finally, we actually get the context of Umberto Robina calling him "a snake", he is simply angry because of Haitians laughing at him, so he called Tommy a snake because he doesn't do enough for the Cubans in his eyes. At least that's what we think about it.
I think Auntie allowed Tommy to walk away because killing him wouldn’t have accomplished anything and would possibly bring more attention to the Haitians. She also didn’t want Tommy to get exposed because then the Cubans would be angrier with the Haitians and the war would lead to the VCPD’s involvement, coupled by Tommy potentially also going to war with both gangs. Imagine that VC’s storyline would have been dragged out for longer-Sonny escapes the mansion after being shot by Tommy, and decides to reach out to other gangs in the city. Due to his association with Ken, he’s able to manipulate Umberto into turning against Tommy by telling him that Tommy started the war and the Haitians reveal to Umberto that Tommy was working for them. This would led to a war between the Vercetti crime family, and the Forellis’ alliance with the Cuban and Haitian gangs.
interesting theory! Makes sense to me. I always wondered how/why the two opposing crime bosses (Paulette and Umberto) never figured out that Tommy was playing them both.
*4:20* that's because she's manipulative, just before she called Tommy she had the idea to use him as an outsider for her errands before disposing of him, as she did by practicing voodoo on him then warning him twice not to venture in Little Haiti.

If I remembers right when you are done with the missions for dear Aunt Poulet she calls you again and says something about they don't want Tommy around... maybe her potion tea stopped working and she knows that... I mean she is just giving up a useful and powerful tool like that...
In her last mission's cutscene, she was already talking about letting him free from the "curse". She didn't say why, but she was already planning to let Tommy go. Good for him.
Little Haiti and Little Havana are my favorite districts in Vice City. If only they'd give this game a proper remake. I'll take it over GTA 6 as of right now.

I always assumed Aunt Poulet's mentioned Nephew was Berkley,not sure,pls correct me if im wrong, and because she mentioned her nephew had been working on Flying Bombs (Rc Planes),and are similar to the planes Berkley uses to destroy Zero's transmitter in one of his missions, but im not really 100% sure about it. This is a very interesting theory, No No! 🤔 However, we believe that it might be really hard to prove it :/ Besides the fact that both Berkley and Poulet's nephew had those RC planes, we don't know if they weren't produced by some company before. @@gaminginvestigators Also, Aunt Poulet said his Nephew (Which i Assumed was Berkley) had been working on RC planes, and I thought that was the main reason why the RC plane was very difficult to fly and had to be remotely controlled in GTA VC,then a few years later(GTA SA), Berkley attack's Zero using RC planes that I think had advanced adjustments and didn't need to be Remotely Controlled and were Automatically programmed and automatically targeted Zero's Transmitters, and because of how the planes were flying perfectly straight.

Sons of Samedi from saints row 2 is somewhat a loosely Haitian gang. With non Haitian members involved. Maybe it’s more West African drug cartel with some Haitian criminal connections. They did had some Caribbean members in the gang. Also do voodoo practice. Especially practiced by Mister Sunshine.
I don’t know which one of you does the voice over but you have a great voice for narration. Anyways, I wish there were more missions with them in VC. They had so much potential. I hope they come back in some form in GTA6 since it’s going to be in a more VC like location.

Mariel boatlift refers specifically to the Cuban migrants (not Haitians) that left from port of Mariel in Havana in massive numbers because at the time the United States government was asking that Cuba let the anti-communist people leave the country on the boats that belonged to Cuban families already living in Miami and that wanted to volunteer for this. But Fidel had a trick up his sleeve and he used the opportunity to empty out all the Cuban prisons and mental institutions and force them on the boats as well. This caused a sharp spike in crime in Miami in the 80s. Obviously there were Haitians arriving in Miami also, through different means, but they were not part of the Mariel boatlift.
If you're wondering why Aunt Poulet let's Tommy go, it's not just a practical matter. I mean, dude is the most infamous criminal in the state, so if he's running bitch work for her, she's gonna get sucked into all that bullshit. No, it's more a religious matter. In vaudun and other sects like Santeria, there is an abiding belief that you take on the debt to the loa of anyone you control/are affiliated with. Basically, she didn't want Tommy's debt of soul to be hers as well.
If they keep with separate universes, she probably won't even exist. Most likely scenario they'll turn her into a cameo mascot for some pancakes or sum shit.

Far fetched opinion: I always thought Tommy's dialogs in the Haitian's missions had inconsistencies and incoherence. The names of the mission were: 1. Juju Scrambe 2. Trojan Voodoo I thought Aunty Poulet maybe used herbal drugs like Jamaican nightshade or some substance maybe in the tea to keep using Tommy.
That could be the case as well, Shahid. Although we don't know what exactly she was using for her tea, we are at least certain it had to be some wild stuff!

The Forellis were only thinking of expanding down south in 1986 as they saw even smaller gangs (like the Hatians and Cubans) 'cutting themselves a piece of some nice action'. Therefore it gives Sonny no reason to appear in Vice City Stories as it took place in 1984.

First time I played gta vice city on my $90 prepaid android I only made it to cop land this time around on my iPad Air 4 I completed the story 🎉🎉 the thing is before this I played gta sa and I love that game it’s the first gta game I ever played. and i have completed that story at least 4 or 5 times because it’s fun the game is dated but it has really good mechanics and physics considering its 19 years old and it’s fun I can play gta sa over and over it’s that good 👀👀now gta vice city I enjoy it because it’s like I am in the 80s but one thing that would keep me from playing it over and over is the dated mechanics and dated game physics like we all know that gta 3 has one of the worst game physics and mechanics of the 3D universe and gta vice city is basically built off of that game engine and shares most of gta 3s dated problems when people say gta 3 is the hardest game in the series there not lieing it’s very bad .after playing gta vice city completely ill play gta 3 and after ill play the easyer to play gta liberty city stories which is largely based off of gta sa game engine and physics so it will be easier compared to gta vice city and gta 3

In Vice City Stories in 1984, the Cholos were wiped out by Victor Vance. And that's why they don't appear in Vice City in 1986 and that's why the Haitians took over.
Well yeah, but surprisingly we managed to find some Cholo members in the neighborhood even though their businesses were owned by Vic. 🤔 That's why we think that it happened at some point after the storyline of the game when they were finally wiped out 🙂
To add in Saints Row 2 there is a gang called the Sons of Samedi who are very similar to the Haitians in Vice City and i’m pretty sure they are also Hatians

Imagine that VC’s storyline would have been dragged out for longer-Sonny escapes the mansion after being shot by Tommy, and decides to reach out to other gangs in the city. Due to his association with Ken, he’s able to manipulate Umberto into turning against Tommy by telling him that Tommy started the war and the Haitians reveal to Umberto that Tommy was working for them. This would led to a war between the Vercetti crime family, and the Forellis’ alliance with the Cuban and Haitian gangs.

If I remembers right when you are done with the missions for dear Aunt Poulet she calls you again and says something about they don't want Tommy around... maybe her potion tea stopped working and she knows that... I mean she is just giving up a useful and powerful tool like that...
Also after that you have the cuban mission to give them a huge blow
In her last mission's cutscene, she was already talking about letting him free from the "curse". She didn't say why, but she was already planning to let Tommy go. Good for him.

@@gaminginvestigators Also, Aunt Poulet said his Nephew (Which i Assumed was Berkley) had been working on RC planes, and I thought that was the main reason why the RC plane was very difficult to fly and had to be remotely controlled in GTA VC,then a few years later(GTA SA), Berkley attack's Zero using RC planes that I think had advanced adjustments and didn't need to be Remotely Controlled and were Automatically programmed and automatically targeted Zero's Transmitters, and because of how the planes were flying perfectly straight.

Sons of Samedi from saints row 2 is somewhat a loosely Haitian gang. With non Haitian members involved. Maybe it’s more West African drug cartel with some Haitian criminal connections. They did had some Caribbean members in the gang. Also do voodoo practice. Especially practiced by Mister Sunshine.
I don’t know which one of you does the voice over but you have a great voice for narration.

I always wondered what happened to the gangs in vice city besides the Forrelli family.
Mariel boatlift refers specifically to the Cuban migrants (not Haitians) that left from port of Mariel in Havana in massive numbers because at the time the United States government was asking that Cuba let the anti-communist people leave the country on the boats that belonged to Cuban families already living in Miami and that wanted to volunteer for this. But Fidel had a trick up his sleeve and he used the opportunity to empty out all the Cuban prisons and mental institutions and force them on the boats as well. This caused a sharp spike in crime in Miami in the 80s. Obviously there were Haitians arriving in Miami also, through different means, but they were not part of the Mariel boatlift.

I find it strange that the developers replaced the Haitians for Cholos in VCS due to controversies, but both Cholos and Haitians are immigrants.

The Forellis were only thinking of expanding down south in 1986 as they saw even smaller gangs (like the Hatians and Cubans) 'cutting themselves a piece of some nice action'. Therefore it gives Sonny no reason to appear in Vice City Stories as it took place in 1984.

First time I played gta vice city on my $90 prepaid android I only made it to cop land this time around on my iPad Air 4 I completed the story 🎉🎉 the thing is before this I played gta sa and I love that game it’s the first gta game I ever played. and i have completed that story at least 4 or 5 times because it’s fun the game is dated but it has really good mechanics and physics considering its 19 years old and it’s fun I can play gta sa over and over it’s that good 👀👀now gta vice city I enjoy it because it’s like I am in the 80s but one thing that would keep me from playing it over and over is the dated mechanics and dated game physics like we all know that gta 3 has one of the worst game physics and mechanics of the 3D universe and gta vice city is basically built off of that game engine and shares most of gta 3s dated problems when people say gta 3 is the hardest game in the series there not lieing it’s very bad .after playing gta vice city completely ill play gta 3 and after ill play the easyer to play gta liberty city stories which is largely based off of gta sa game engine and physics so it will be easier compared to gta vice city and gta 3

In Vice City Stories in 1984, the Cholos were wiped out by Victor Vance. And that's why they don't appear in Vice City in 1986 and that's why the Haitians took over.
Well yeah, but surprisingly we managed to find some Cholo members in the neighborhood even though their businesses were owned by Vic. 🤔 That's why we think that it happened at some point after the storyline of the game when they were finally wiped out 🙂
