- I was lucky enough to have the Crib Goch knife edge pretty much to myself. I filmed it on my Sony HDR AS30V headcam. Excuse the adjustments at the beginning as my head was sweating and the strap wasn't tight enough. I soon got it right. Hope you enjoy !! Take care in wet and windy conditions.
A lot of Crib Goch videos tend to gloss over the pinnacles, but if you are not used to climbing in my opinion these are quite daunting and more difficult than the ridge which is more of a test of nerve. This video gives a good idea of the challenge they present, good job.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I had watched videos of Crib Goch before I went up there but nothing had prepared me for the pinnacles...Turns out my 'training' beforehand involved lots of exercise to improve my upper body and core strength. I'm so glad, in hindsight, that I had because they are quite daunting but very enjoyable to climb.
I love this video and how brave you are. When I traversed Crib Goch a couple of weeks ago I only realised when I got up there that my centre of balance was off. I noticed how lots of people seemed to be able to basically stride across the ridge whereas I did a combination of cling on for dear life, crawl and shimmy on my bum. I call you guys 'The mountain goat' people haha 😄 You're all amazing 👏

Wow! Well done, mate! Apart from the sound, the vid is brilliant! Actually, I wished it had gone on longer to reveal the full route you took, as well as the route down. Mostly, I appreciated the camera mounted on-head, as far too many vloggers risk more than they should whilst filming on Crib Goch. Again, well done!
this bit here, I got the fear big time as it was brutal wind and wet and made it even more precarious. I therefore found that bit the hairiest in my two times of doing the ridge

I took one look at the third pinnacle and thought "f*** that". There is a way to bypass it, which I happily did :)
how did you bypass it?
@@davidsmith6355 I dropped down into the gully on the left just before you get to the regular route on the right (the "steps"). You don't need to go down far, you pretty much just skip across it and climb up the rocks and go around. It's still dangerous as a slip could be fatal, but so could falling off the other side haha.
@@tonyhailstone thanks. Sounds like it might be a bit safer on the left then🙂. I didn't really spot a route round that side so just went via the steps on the right. I'll look for the cut round on the left next time. I have only been there once and had just dragged myself up a few hundred feet from the over busy pyg track and arrived on the ridge right smack bang on the wrong side of that pinnacle! Couldn't believe that as 10m further forward would have been perfect rather than having to think about how to proceed safely. I took a few min to think about the next move as I didn't like any of the options I had really. I knew the steps would not be difficult for me as such as I am relatively experienced, but they were certainly very dangerous above that sheer drop with one slip likely fatal. Fantastic place but caution needed to any newcomers or poorly equipped walkers. Wet or windy not so good either!

Great video mate,done sharp edge yesterday and had a few sweaty palmed moments but nothing I couldn't overcome,how much worst is crib goch in comparison?because I'd love to give it a go (nice weather)👍🏼
Sharp Edge is quite short in length m8 and steep up foul crag but it can be tricky when wet. In my opinion Crib Goch is one of the best ridges in the UK. The knife egde is narrow in places but none the less a blast. Don't attempt it in strong winds thou could quite easily have a fall if your not careful. If your feeling like a bit of a scramble you can take in the 3 pinnacles on the knife edge, but you can just do the last one if your vertigo is playing up. When you've finished Crib Goch you still have the long Crib y Ddysgl ridge to negotiate which is also great fun. Basically, pick a sunny day and you will be rewarded with an awesome scramble all the way to Snowdon summit. Have fun!!
@@TheJtimex ye I noticed that yesterday,as soon as you've started the ridge on sharp edge you've practically finished it,foul crag was great fun but saying that wouldn't want to be going anywhere near it in the rain 😬
Done striding edge and sharp edge now pretty comfortably so thinking of taking the leap upto crib goch,the thing that puts me off crib goch is some of these videos filmed on go-pros,making the ridge look a lot narrower than it is,I was talking to somebody yesterday that said the worst bit on sharp edge is no less "dodgy" than crib goch it's just crib goch is a longer,I reckon I'll get there eventually it's something you have to try atleast once,who knows might even enjoy it😂

Must admit Richard he's the first person i have ever seen brewing up on the top of Crib Goch. He was enjoying the view and to be honest it was one of them great view days. I was more worried about being eaten by the insects :)
Yeah have full on recalls of the 11 mins one..quite often.
Why is everyone now talking about mental health issues. Is it real or just the current fad? I remember years ago everone had asthma, then alergies, then ADHD and then chronic fatigue syndrome - I can't keep up - blink and youve missed an epidemic....
Wow awesome... Absolutely fantastic... After the pinnacle is it a easy scramble up to the summit.... You did it Yorkshire man style.. No messing about... You need a cup of Yorkshire tea at the end of that.... I'm hoping to do it this summer... I hope I get a beautiful clear day as you did... Stay safe...
Nothing like a good cuppa m8. It's the best way up Snowdon. The views are mega. Not often you get weather like that thou. Enjoy m8

You can avoid 2 of them m8 but the last one i think you need to do but it's not too tricky. Enjoy the best way up Snowdon
