    Have now had the X2D for a little more than a year. Especially after the recent firmware update I am very pleased with the camera. That recent update (3.1.0) enabled IBIS on my old HC lenses, though AF still not works, as my lenses are to old for any kind of firmware update on them. Best camera I have ever owned.

    Love that this doesn’t have video. A camera dedicated to still photography. Been shooting exclusively with film up to now but need a digital in the toolbox because it’s becoming harder to shoot only film, due to many clients wanting to see images on the set. I’m thinking about this or the GFX 100s. Leaning toward this for the color science.

    After one weeks use of the X2D, I have the following comments:
    It's a big upgrade, with lots of nice improvements. To me especially the very effective IBIS, the very sharp, detailed and large EVF, the tilting LCD, and of course the resolution are the highlights.
    Some things are gone or changed, and I miss the following:
    I hope the crop modes will be back. I have used 1x1 and especially the XPAN mode quite a lot, miss those in the new camera. Also hope the custom profiles can be chosen via the mode button in the future, and that you can see which custom profile you have active. Furthermore, a way to rename the custom profiles to something meaningfull for the specific user. That’s my wish list, hoping for early christmas, though I know I wont get any of this before my two months with the camera and hopefully the new 90mm in Nepal. I have ordered the lens, but there is no news about delivery. By the way my first impressions video is here: th-cam.com/video/4LCoNJgmfUw/w-d-xo.html

    I love the Blad but still not convinced it’s suitable for outside. That overheating problem has always been a massive concern for me.
    In Studio I am religious, nothing matches or comes close to that colour spectrum as well as the Phocus software I absolutely dig as first step retouch. Don’t know what they gonna charge me here in Australia but I waited since the H3d ii to upgrade, it’s time!! As a M user since 20 years I can’t tell you what it means to me seeing a focus scale on those lenses. I hoped the X would get a update but the lenses, amazing 🤩
    Looks like Sweden has delivered.

    Hasselblad is not a Sweedish company anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong but its now owned by a Chinese company called DJI. Where is this camera made? Asside from it's logo, what other connections does it have with the past cameras in this video?

    • @qiyuxuan9437
      @qiyuxuan9437 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The optic, color science is still the old Hasselblad. DJI can bring a lot of new technology where Hasselblad used to be lacking, such as good autofocus, stabilization etc.

    • @tor2919
      @tor2919 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cliff, are you per any chance a Fuji fan? This ownership thing seems to be a line of attack across all Hasselblad forums that I see again and again from Fuji fanboys.
      Hasselblad was sold to a Swedish investment group in 1976 and later sold to a foreign owner in 1996.
      It is extremely common for brands to have other owners. The owner is not necessarily involved in the product at all.
      Hasselblad are researched, designed and made in Gothenburg, Sweden same as ever.

    • @tor2919
      @tor2919 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just to make the point clear: you want a hasselblad owner hasselblad? Then buy something from 1975 or earlier.
      Hasn’t been Swedish owned since the 90’s.
      Doesn’t matter one single bit. What matters are the people that work at Hasselblad. They still have lens designers that have worked there since the 1980’s. Workers and engineers that have been there for over 30 years. That’s what matters. They are the ones that design and create these cameras.

    I'we used Hasselblad since the age of 18 (it was a 500C), and I'm now 66 and still using Hasselblad. I shoot on 500CM, H3D, and X1D II. The new camera seems awesome, but I have one question. I shoot for a project (youtube videos and a book), using vintage glass on the X1D (could be the X2D), but the sensor readout time of 300 milliseconds is limiting my work. Does the X2D have faster sensor readout? That for me could be the single most important argument for an update.
    By the way, the addition of a very effective IBIS is one of the greatest things on this new camera, off course apart from it being 100 max. Seeing forward to having it in my hand, Hasselblad X1D ergonomics is the best in the world, and the X2D looks to be just as good.

    Blad bodies are really amazing. However, currently, they are outdated by the GFX100 II in termes of features / quality / price ratio in my opinion. It's also the case with the lens range (product offer, price). Mining old images is not enough to be perceived ahead of its time.

    Interesting to see but from the looks of things, you've missed some key features. How come no rocker switch to move the focus point except with your finger on the rear display? This is a deal breaker... What's with the ridiculous knobs on the side that would appear to only work with a neck strap of Hasselblad design. All of my cameras are equipped with a peak design clutch strap, even my H6. One axis for rear display articulation is also a bit lame in today's world.
