Could you use a Dremel 481 3/32 In. Collet inserted into the drill chuck and spread the sides out just a bit to accept a small eye bolt? They do make a tool for this, but many reviews claim that tool slips way too easy and is a waste of money.
Did not work for me, I was screwing in a 3/8 eye bolt into a 4x4 post (yes, I pre-drilled) for my hammock and the thread on the other eye bolt was just stripping the inside of the chuck on my drill and wasn't spinning it.
Large allen key works well too
You know you made a better way of doing something when the method looks like hacks, you have accomplished this
thanks! i had two eye hooks, both closed. used plyers and screw driver to open one up and then used this dude's trick to screw in the other. easy!
This tip will literally save my wrists, forearms, and at least a couple hours up on a ladder tomorrow. So glad I checked TH-cam!
You just saved me $20 on an assortment of sockets, which may or may not have fit my eye screws. Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing a great tip. If you don't have an hook handy you could turn one of your eyes into a hook
Gasp. Not my eyes.
The hook is a good idea. I was a socket that fits over the eye, if you're concerned about an open hook catching clothing.
This helped me with a homemade bird feeder. Thank you

Allen Wrench instead of the open hook
I have the drill bit made for this, and it your way is so much better! The bit I have slips off very easily because its open on each side. Awesome!

Nice idea - and a nice tool vest too!
Wow 400IQ move right here thanks for posting
screw hook or socket in a drill, both get the job done
Thank you sooo much!
There are also specialty eye hook driver that can be purchased off the shelf
I have tried this in a porch beam , I think my drill needs more power neither would budge the darn screw eye
the gator grip is good to that is what i use
Yeah amazing tip
Great tip very handy
really helpful, thanks so much!
Best. Tip. Ever
Do it backwards to install hooks.
Great tip. Thanks!
they make a tool for that... it does hooks too.
Now that's thinkin instead of drinkin!
very gangster idea.
I feel silly bc I don't know what the drill "bit" is exactly? Help! lol thanks 😉

Use a Allen wrench
This is nice one
Man I cringed when you put your finger in the hook with your other hand on the gun😬
You and me both! That's a good way to lose a finger
"Keep your finger off the trigger until you intend to shoot"
Well I ain't never 🤓
why not just use a eye screw socket???
Don't use a corded drill. They have no clutch and lots of inertia.
That’s useless I don’t have an extra one to do that and definitely not doing it with a screw when I have power tools
