Ich finde, dass diese EM- Qualifikationsgruppe eine der Kuriosesten überhaupt war. Frankreich als Favorit enttäuschte auf der ganzen Linie. Die DDR gewann auf Island 6:0, UdSSR als Tabellenführer nur 1:1 auf Island, dafür 2:0 Sieg in Paris gegen Frankreich. Unglaubliche Konstellation!

J'avais 9 ans en 1986 et j'avais découvert le football lors de la Coupe du Monde de cette année. Je ne sais pas pourquoi, je garde le souvenir, dans ces qualifications, d'une longue nuit qui n'en finit pas. Les matchs à la télé étaient rares à l'époque, chaque match de l'équipe de France était attendu (un à chaque fois, pas deux ou trois en dix jours comme on a déjà aujourd'hui) et c'était triste, désespérant. Les anciens avaient l'impression d'être revenus dans les années 70, ceux de mon âge n'avaient jamais vu l'équipe de France en difficultés. Face aux Islandais amateurs et les deux matchs face aux Norvégiens qui devaient l'être aussi, un terrible sentiment d'impuissance.

Simples o tele Santana levou a seleção envelhecida de 82 houve poucas renovações levou Muller campeão mundial sub-20, Casagrande que foi mal nos dois jogos e Edson boaro, que substituiu o lateral Leandro que foi cortado junto com Renato gaúcho e depois colocou o Josimar que deu a conta do Recado no lugar de Edson , Tinha também o futuro campeão mundial de 94 o Branco que jogou demais em 86 e Zico que ficou basicamente na reserva e e entrou no jogo da França em que ele perdeu o pênalti que botaria o Brasil na semifinal por isso que não deu liga mesmo que sofreu 1 gol

Quei giocatori erano una generazione al tramonto, in quelle qualificazioni successe alla Francia cio' che successe all Italia 4 anni prima, non ci fu il ricambio generazionale a chi per motivi anagrafici a chi per motivi atletici non riusciva piu' a dare il 100% alla Francia.
