One wonders why, if they hadn't been compensated for their efforts by those who needed that draw... Anyway, this was one of the best Romanian teams ever... A great pity, as they were putting up much bigger scores against a very overrated Spsin side in this qualifying campaign. Signs on, Spain had a fairly shitty Euro'88 in West Germany following this, they were lucky to get over Denmark, 3-2 in Hannover. Post Mexico' 86, Spain were not great in tournaments, Euro'88 and Italia'90 especially, always failed to deliver back in those days in the big tournaments. Romania were technically and individually far superior to Spain during this campaign. A great pity, as they would have performed much better in the Euro'88 tournament instead of Spain.
Spain always had great talents. They did not have a team untill late 2000's. Yet again there were so many great teams or players that you could not see at an European Tournament since only best eight got there in those times.
@gogonae7498 Spain were bad travellers back in the 1980s, they lost most of their matches away. Yes, thry had some great players, but we're never a great team during that decade at all, unlike other countries, who didn't have as good individuals as Spain, but those other countries had better teams than Spain.
@@michealkelliher8428 Indeed , you can add also the 1990s. However situation is very similar to Romania in 2000's with a great lot of players but hardly a team untill late 00's (like Euro 2008). btw where are you from ?
@gogonae7498 Absolutely 💯 correct, I agree 👍 with you. I'm from Ireland. We're terrible now, we had a great team up until 30 year's ago! 1994. We had a great team in the 1980’s, but bad luck! for the most part, pressed us until Big Jack Charlton came to manage us in 1986. Things changed. Our best years was from 1988 - 1994 really
