@@Player_0i well, in the chorus it's feels to me that it's Chesters special "how the fuck do you add distortion so high up and belt" kind of singing, most likely it's a combination of screaming and him being a tenor, but the screams in the bridge are screaming tehniques, such as growl and mostly false vocal chords, altough Chester always had a way to put so much power into them that it sounds really loud, which most techniques aren't. While I don't agree that you could call this "screaming" (altough chester was one of few who could actually scream and not hurt himself) I definetly agree that it is very hard.

Hitting these notes alone is a feat in and of itself, but to do so throughout the entirety of the song and then into the lengthened screaming in the bridge, back straight to the high notes requires such incredible stamina in your diaphragm, intercostal muscles, and abdominals.

No offense to Emily but when Chester sings these songs you can tell he's singing them from the depths of his soul and really channeling the emotions of the songs not goofing around dancing on stage.
I swear man I just don’t feel her with singing the old songs they should have left linkin park to Chester in honor and just go back to xero I mean we all know who they are we would still listen to them I love linkin park but I just can’t without Chester I’m trying so hard because their my favorite band but ugh 😩

this performance is absolutely amazing
His vocals and screams still blow my mind.
Gracias 🫡
Just coming back here every so often to watch a legendary performance
0:39 the way he puts his hands on his head.
Damn that hurts so much now. He helped so many, went through so much and I am so sad that he couldn't stay on earth any longer.
Chester, I hope you found peace wherever you are now.
You were a gift for the world, you helped so many and some people are just never meant to be born...
Thank you. We all miss you.
The shivers I just got 🥲 if i had to describe clinical depression using a song, this would be it..
These days, whenever I listen to the live performance of ' Given Up ' I can somewhat understand the rawness of Chester's voice. And that 17 seconds of fuckin' scream; to throw all the frustration, pain, sadness out of your mental system; all is somehow familiar now.
We still need you Chester. And thanks for being in this world through your work. ❤
Chester in this performance is like a star burning brightest before it rests.
I thought I couldn't be more impressed with his vocals. I swear to god every time I listen to his screams I'm left speechless. Truly one of a kind. I'm just sad I couldn't be there to see it in person.
Can’t fake feelings. Chester gave his gift to us in a raw form. We miss you, Chester. Can’t be replaced. ❤
In june 2024 I'm still here...how about you?
Im here. 😢
I'm here with ya. Damn this dude had talent, what a loss.
Here
Hell yeah mfr 🤘

Heaven probably does not exits, pal.

I'm a Classically Trained Singer, I have to say that Chester is one of the Most Honest Vocalists I've had the pleasure of Experiencing...
He Truly Pours Out His Soul In EVERY Note and Nuance.... ,
His Silence Is
Absolutely Deafening..

Damnit Chester. I could never understand what you were going through but you were just simply amazing. Not even my generation of music but so damned good.
To watch someone scream so perfect is beautiful but yet brings tears to your eyes because you see with yours the pain Chester was in.
i don't think ive ever rewatched a live performance as much as this. every member of the band was so energetic. from chester going nuts, to mike having the time of his LIFE, to brad doing that cheeky lil smile right before the breakdown... fuck me
granted a place for my head live in texas is definitely crazier, but... there's just something about this performance i can't quite place
Some other performances where Chester goes absolutely bat shit insane are a place for my head kroq 2003 and rock am ring 2001 and runaway rock am ring 2001
Haven’t heard beats like that since my grandma fell down the stairs! Still gives me chills at 3 minutes watching Chester choke himself. So talented…. damn your missed brother.
This is so wrong... 💀
Rest in peace, Chester.
im sorry I chuckled when you said your grandma fell.... what is wrong with me💀💀
Dafuq HAHAHA
The pain in his eyes when he said GODDDDDDDDDD 😢
I’ve watched this 4 times and the scream still amazes me.. I wish Chester was still her Rest in Peace
I was going to go to one of his performances a while back but canceled due to his passing
To this day its so surreal listening to this man sing this. Im 46 now and was 23 at this show. 😢
This album and song came out in 2007 you donut. It’s a 16 year old song and record. What a weird claim to make up.
This was exactly what he was going through. In front of everybody, he was shouting about getting out of his misery. I really miss him.
This song never gets old, in every variation from live concert to studio.
One of the best live ever

I cried when he said "given up" because it reminded me he gave up in life. R.I.P Chester Bennington you will always be loved and missed 😢😢❤
LP is my favourite band of all time. Their songs remind me of high school and high school sports trips ❤️🤟. RIP Chester. Fortunate enough to see them live once ❤️🤘
November 2024, are you here?
❤❤❤
I tried it with Emily, sorry I’m out. Chester, Brad and rob gone too. Not the same
Old LP is my favorite band but i am Happy for the other LP`s guys, they looks Happy making music again!
December
Yep showing some kid what talent looks like.
I remembet seeing this live and I said to my wife its a matter of time before he leaves us. His songs and his interviews were telling his story. RIP MY BROTHER❤😢
one of the few bands that can sound just like their songs in concert. usually artists sound a lot different

Anyone listening November 2024?
everyday of my life i i listening to this masterpiece song
Yes
of course!
I'm here!
God used this man to speak to many souls, through his songs my uncle was cured of depression❤
When he does the put me out of my misery part, can't find many people with this talent
@ yeah like I feel she does good on some songs but not great. I’m sure as more new material comes out that’s more suited to her vocal abilities it will be better. Like I think she is definitely talented, I’ve listened to quite a bit of Dead Sara and she sounds great in that band.
I mean even she admits that she doesn't compare to him, but her goal isn't to BE him.
I think she is a good option to carry on the legacy of Linkin Park, but Chester was and is a legend. Few can equal him
@@BeyondBaito I'm just curious, where did she excactly say that?
What a dead beat crowd. Chester you and the lads fucking nailed this forever and to legacies on. I wish I could have come to this.
The crowds in awe this happened a lot when chester laid it out to quiet up and absorb it as chester ripped your emotions apart it's actually respect in metal to do so
everytime i come back to this live i cry, EVERYTIME
Amazing breath control.
There are none like him! A huge loss for the world.
