Al Foster is one of the all-time greats... does anyone have a synced-up version of this? Watching it like this just makes me want to tear my teeth out.
I love that tom angle, always be unique and set your kit up for YOU. Doesn't matter how it looks, if it sounds good and you play good, you'll look cool no matter what!
Wow, I watched this a year ago, and I remembered it being good..... but not great... Shiiiiit, this is freakin' great!!!!!! Way to make a drum talk!! ♥
Al Foster used his drum solo to sing. Sort of like Sonny Rollins, Al's idol, who played while being mindful of the lyrics of the song. Listen with that in mind.
Pretty cool. Not sure I agree with his tom angle, but I realize it (seems to) stem from his use of traditional grip. Shame it's not synced up. Who's the bass player?
+Leonard seed I'm sure your "avant grade" was a misspell but I quite like it. I take the reference to be someone who has attained the grade of qualifying as an "avant" musician.
Words cannot describe Al Foster's majestic playing on this. Simply stunning and his hi-hats just sing! McCoy and Charnett are brilliant as usual. Wow.
Unbelievable. Al Foster has a touch I have not seen before. Totally awesome.....
Al Foster, just the best living Jazz drummer.
Taste, tecnique and fantasy.
These jazz masters... how they incorporate musicality and entertainment value with the illusion of simplicity ....... we're just amoebas.
this is why he was in Miles' band for so long. unstoppable groove!
One of the best drum solo!
