Honestly as someone who just managed to bullshit my way through Spanish 3 (I know, not the same as French), an online translator and some semblance of understanding how grammar works is all you need. The translator for all of the terms and verb tenses, the basic understanding of grammar to make sure you don’t fudge up your translations. it works for the proper/school learning Spanish at least. if you want a specific dialect or slang, school classes are not the way to go lmao

You literally take a word and say « this one can mean 4 things but can also means that if it’s in that sentence or said that way ». French is hard but it’s a very beautiful language with a lot of vocabulary, so a lot of English writers used French instead of English to write their book for many centuries.

As a francophone, I can say english is trivially easy to learn compared to spanish or french. I'm really glad that it's my native language
What's funny is that in France you start learning English for a year or so with the teacher taking French, and then when you're 9, the teacher starts to talk English and you improvise, adapt, overcome

Back in Uni in france I used to teach french to foreing student, I helped students from England, Indian, China and Japan, All of them told me at some point that French was way harder than any language they knew. And we were all Language Science students, So we all knew a shit-ton of languages.
