Thenreally came to a head when Woody (OSU)and (Bo UofM)where Coaches of the teams in the 60’s and 70’s.

Yeah, but the college part goes way back, too. From Wikipedia:
"The 1897 season marked the first game in the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry. The two teams met in Ann Arbor on October 16, 1897."
And it was Ohio State that asked Michigan to teach them how to play the game!

Michigan won without their heisman candidate and a couple more first stringers on offense and defense and edwards ran the ball with his hand in a cast AND this is the first game all season where we actually needed our first year starter to actually step up and lead the offense

It was fun watching you watch the game, you were right in trying to stop the run they left the backfield open, their secondary is weak, so once Edwards broke through the front he was gone. Ohio has some great WR, and a great quarterback, but a weak secondary, the QB gets stressed easily when pressured. IMO
Aye I preciate your comment bro, someone commented and said they were trying to stop the run but michigan ran for over 200 yards in the second half. If you cant stop the run you going to be susceptible to the deep ball on play action. With that secondary looking suspect its a bad combination.

What wasn't right was the Buckeyes chose to defend in man coverage all game. They never adjusted in the second half.

OSU was trying to stop the run all game. We spent most of the season not throwing very much and running like 80% of the time. People questioned if we were capable of throwing the ball all season. Then we lit osu up with the pass most of the game. Then when they finally tried to stop the pass, we started running, and lit them up more.
Auburn/ Alabama is more like Michigan/ Michigan state level. Instate rivalry. It’s good, but Michigan/ Ohio is another level, especially with the population of both states tuning in. Alabama population isn’t even close to either state.
Definitely not, it is a top 3 rivalry at worst. To compare it to michigan and michigan state is straight up disrespectful.
@@itsshadbih not trying to be distasteful. But USC/Norte Dame, Texas/Oklahoma, the list is long. It’s an instate rivalry, unless you went to either school, no one outside the state cares. Definitely no one in the major cities. A great rivalry is more than just length of time, but two different states, with large populations, huge fan base, large alumni… that rivalry isn’t it.

It’s a great rivalry, for sure, it’s superior football, especially since Alabama is the current premier brand. But from an outside perspective, Army/Navy is even better, just from a rivalry standpoint and nothing else.

I honestly respect you and everyone elses opinion on this subject. Honestly im a little biased because im here and from Alabama and our rivalry is here in state. If google whats the best rivalry ours usually comes up #1. I was not tryin undersell their rivalry itself but a debate can be had in my opinion.

Ohio State won't see Michigan until next year I reckon. Beating Georgia in Atlanta is a tough order for a team that was exposed for a lack of discipline and a suspect defensive scheme and weak coverage.
And Michigan isn't looking past TCU. We will see what shakes out but both of these teams have tough games to try and win
I surprised tcu was #3, and ohio state #4. I was thinking we would see their rematch in the playoffs but we'll see if they can handle business.
@@itsshadbih I think the people running the tournament realised with the beat down at the shoe they didn't deserve to be ranked above TCU and with the seeding, they won't get Michigan. Much of the talk all week was whether USC or Bama had a claim on that four spot. Ohio State was exposed ....you don't want to reward that.

This is what happens when you sell out to stop the run. Man coverage only works if you have 4 Jabrill Peppers in the secondary
To your point about something being off about OSUs defense…they sold out to stop the run on almost every play. So on a lot of those big plays their safeties we’re either out of position due to playing close to the line or just overall getting beat by the receivers. On both of those runs Edwards was going against overloaded boxes daring him to run and Michigans oline sealed the edges just good enough to keep the holes open and OSUs defenders out of position. It was a scheme and instinct issue

They just sold out so hard on the run they didn't leave any help up top. U-M had been focusing on Corum and the running game, playing possession football, but with Corum injured, they've been varying up their offense, and apparently OSU's defensive coordinator didn't get the memo. Maybe they thought Corum was going to come back or something. OSU will do better in a rematch against Michigan if it happens, because at least they will set up their defense according to actual reality.😂
Thats what i thinking, i believed it would be hard to beat the same team twice in on season. But others are tellin me that michigan is light years better than ohio state. Idk we'll see!
@@itsshadbih I think Michigan is better coached. We see this from the way their lineman continue to deliver the goods despite starters getting injured and replaced by less experienced players. They all just know what to do. But as you say, we'll see.

TOSU filled the box to prevent Michigan from running. That's why there was no help in the secondary. Why TOSU refused to change strategies is anyone's guess.

I'm from Alabama but I grew up in Michigan. Michigan/Ohio State is the greatest, nastiest rivalry in college football. There's at least 1 or 2 fights every time the teams play. Auburn and Alabama don't have nothing on this rivalry.

It’s unlikely they see each other again. At first people thought the rematch would happen in the semi finals but now it’s unlikely. It’s possible but unlikely since Ohio State got a tough draw with Georgia.

@@itsshadbih it made sense why TCU stayed at 3 since they had one more win than OSU and record wise your ahead of the team that has more wins and played an extra game. Like you shouldn’t be rewarded to be ahead of ahead of a team that played in a title game while you were sitting at home in the couch. Ohio State has their hands full Georgia’s defense is number 1 in rush and there a more talented version of Michigan just imagine how much harder that is. Kirby Smart is a really good coach and they always come very prepared for these type of games.

There defense is trash. What happened was they tried to play a defensive scheme they have not used all year. They tried to play man to man when they were a zone team all year. Why did they do this? Because there front 7 is soft. They felt like they needed to bring extra defenders to stop the run. This is what happens when u try to use a scheme your players don’t practice much. They were betting Michigan could not continuously beat them deep. They were wrong. You definitely should not pick Ohio st against Michigan in a rematch. There D has no answers for Michigan’s offense.
Ohio state did look outmatch, but teams learn more in losses than wins. Not sayin i think michigan would lose it a rematch but i wouldnt bet money on them winning either.
