--- How to hire the best: "4 key qualities to look for" ---
    Key Takeaways:
1.Love the company's cause/crusade (and work ethics will follow automatically)
2.Trust and loyalty (this could take 3-6 months to figure it out)
3.Speed AND Efficient (to meet short deadlines)
4.Personal development (committed to improve, ex: book club involving your staff)

I always appreciate the Cliff Notes of a generation and aggressive learners.
      Love Company Vision/crusader/cause
Loyalty & Trust = Reliable & Transparent (3-6 month of monitoring behavior until i trist them)
Speed and Efficiency: meethe t small deadline
Personal Growth (willingness to learning from a bookclub or training plan and hunger for developing at a level 40%]

      1. A good work ethic has nothing to do with a company's cause, it's your personal standard. It's how you were raised. Enjoying your work does help a lot though.
      2. Trust but verify. Trust nobody that you don't personally know. People have to earn trust. You have to earn the company's trust and they do yours.
      3. Loyalty is a good one. The company expects loyalty from its workers but will drop you in a lightning flash. There is no company loyalty. It's a job even if you love it.
      4. Speed and efficiency comes with being good at what you do. The better you are the faster you are and the more you can adapt to change the better the company will like you.
      5. Personal development should be a personal must. You should strive to improve yourself in some way shape or form each and every day you are alive. You should also learn something new each day to keep your brain functioning at its peak. Don't use it you lose it. Improving yourself will always pay off, people will notice.
      6. People don't quit their company, they quit their boss. The manager and people you work with will either make or break your day.

I think "visionary" people are able to see both the vision of the company, and a vision for THEIR particular place and role. Good leaders don't have to be the top dog.

Lesson: Four things to look for when hiring somebody. 1.) Love. Look for someone who can love the business, and the job they are doing. 2.) Trust. Look for people who you can trust, and people who will trust you. You might not see this until after a little bit of time. At first, you might hold them accountable more than you will in the future. This is because you trust them more. 3.) Speed. You want somebody who works speedily and efficient. It is very important that startup workers get things done fast. As Patrick has talked about in previous videos, Start-up Entrapaneurs make quick descisions. This is an advantage, but it means your workers need to be quick as well. 4.) Personal Development. You want somebody who is committed to getting better. This leads to efficiency.
    Great advice Patrick. Thanks!

GOSH!...this was a great video!, great advice!, the love I totally agree with and I also hire according to how happy and friendly they are, I have noticed it helps in noticing how well they will get along with others, if my employees like the people they work with they tend to work better too.

Amazing video by the way! As a recruiter, I was not trained to think like this but its true. You want to work with people who love your vision and are excited to work with you, not people who are simply taking the job because they have bills to pay.

Hi Pat, interesting video, different perspective. In my opinion here is how I hire, I may not hire for experience, but I do hire for personality traits, like: smart, independent, loyal, self motivated, wants to improve him/herself, wants to improve the work environment. During my business experience I have started a few companies from the ground up and raised millions $$$ through venture capital funds. I had no time to train and no time to babysit. I needed people that I can trust and they can pick up and run!

When you come from a place of love you have the capacity to do whatever it takes, On the point of trust I was just reading "Blink" and it said that higher level people work best when they don't have to explain every action to a superior much like the point you made, be speedy and efficent, someone who is committed to bettering themselves daily

I have one guy hired. He loves his job, he educates himself, we build trust step by step. And he is fast. Now problem we meet is our customers and suppliers are very slow and can not follow our pace :D

Yes speed comes with practice and experience.
In case of person with experience and practice speed is possible but
Every company has different environment and systems (it should be unique )
Hence practice can result in speed.
