@@Hauntti Thanks. I did some research on him last night. What baffles me is that he was offered a role in a 47 movie, but he refused to play the character because it was written poorly. Awesome dude.
He is one of the greatest in his field. My greatest respect for John Williams, especially as a Star Wars fan. But popularity is not a yardstick by which art should be measured. He is a good composer. But hey, a whole new universe opens up when you look up at The Planets ;) (by Gustav Holst). If Bach is still heard after 300 years, Eschenbach is still read after 800 years, that doesn't mean that these are the only works from their time. It means that these works, alongside all the other long-forgotten works, were so significant and memorable that they have survived the centuries. All the works that are popular today would still have to prove that.

@@hoon_sol to be fair, George Lucas apparently wanted to use the Planets straight up as the score, but I believe due to copyright laws these heavily inspired pieces were composed instead. He wasn’t trying to pull a fast one. Not to mention he has far more compositions than just Star Wars.
Read a comment on this theme on some other video, here it is - "If ever the countries of Earth united to form a Space Force against the aliens, this theme has to be our battle theme." Couldn't agree more. This is epic.
Love the Danish National Orchestra they are amazing , I always click on their videos you know you are in for a great performance and the Orchestra members look like they are really into it and having such a great time , lovec their performance of several pieces of music from Game of Thrones especially 😊
John Williams is the greatest film composer in history. You can instantly tell his works when you hear them. The Olympics, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Superman... the list is long.
If he melted all his awards, he could make 10 statues of himself and have enough for a golden soccer ball, that is how long and distinguished his career has been.
Perhaps. And certainly prolific. And he has won five Oscars. But then again, Ennio Morricone won two Oscars and wrote some very memorable film music (such as for all the Sergio Leone movies like "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly."), and James Horner's score for "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" is superb.
Never, ever, gets old. John Williams, you are one crazy legendary composer, I love you for all those emotions over the years, and thank you Danish National orchestra for those incredible performances and rendition.
I went to " The music of Star Wars" performed by the Virginia Symphony a few months ago. The conductor came out in a FULL Darth Vader suit (without the helmet of course). He was all the way in during the performance. They also took a few minutes and had a Darth Vader come out with a red lightsaber and everything. The symphonies go ALL the way in to perform Star Wars. I LOVE IT!!! I was a little disappointed they didn't perform "Duel of the Fates", but I know it's difficult to organize an ENTIRE choir to show up also. Either way, I'm going EVERY May 4th!!!!!
The thing is, you all know the scene in Empire Strikes Back when this march comes on. You picture it in your mind each time you hear the cords. THAT is brilliant film making. (Add to that the Asteroid scene)
Oh man, I got chills at around 0:24 in when the brass section started up. An Outstanding performance! Time to rewatch the movies again for the umpteenth time.

John Williams composed some just plain awesome stuff. And thy played the crap out of it. To me this is as famous of a piece of music as any big classical piece out there.
Word of God says that this music is the official Imperial anthem in-universe. Probably the best piece created for the saga, it makes the threat of the empire and the dark side clearly audible and gives you all the right kinds of shivers.
Agent 47 quoting Palpatine is something I never knew I wanted until now.
Underrated comment
Is this really the guy who voiced Agent 47?

The flute player lady, just jamming after her solo !
This orchestra never ceases to amaze :-)
If you ever played a solo, and nailed it... You know the fealing👌😎❤️

These folks are REALLY good. The cello player had quite a few solos in prev videos, just fantastic
yes, she realy goes with it
Not her solo, HAN SOLO !

John Williams is truly a gift to humanity. It's incredible to see Star Wars themed music become more popular than the most famous classic composers.
God Save Vladisheev Palputin
Hmm there is Harry Mancini
And his son made Toto africa

In my opinion, this is the best Imperial March performance
Other than that thing I saw with John Williams himself, absolutely. This is as good as you can get without the original thing!! Amazing!!
My vote is for this by the Vienna Philharmonic with John Williams conducting: th-cam.com/video/vsMWVW4xtwI/w-d-xo.html
2:30 always gives me chills
3:01 That part with the dissonance created by the descending scale in the low brass section always gets me.
I always get goosebumps when I hear the triangle at 1:41
Wow!! The force is strong with this orchestra
YEEESSSSSS..GÒOOOD
Great cloning of the original...
The might of Vader and the Empire never gets old no matter how many times I listen to this song
John Williams has nothing to envy to Mozart, Beethoven etc.
He is a genius composer

Bit of a plagiarist, though; a ton of material for Star Wars is lifted almost note for note from _The Planets_ by Holst.

Ok, how about using the theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark?
Yes and when we win we play this
