    Thank you for sharing! Beautiful ship. I would like to try MSC sailing from New York this year. Could you do a video compare to Royal, please?

      You are in luck as I did make one a while ago regarding the weekend sailings for MSC vs. Royal. But will see if I need to make a bigger version of this. Next video will also call out some of the differences between the two but more logistical in nature.

    Thank you, great ship tour! We have never been on an MSC ship. Looks pretty good...maybe the layout is a bit confusing but like you said, nothing you can't get used to. 😀

    Always enjoy MSC as they have always gone the extra mile for me with dietary concerns. Was on the MSC Seaside way back in September 2019 before the lockdown. Really enjoyed the seven day cruise. Awesome!! Bruce and Otis

    I have my calendar marked for the week of Nov 12th when RC releases sailings for summer 25'. If their prices are not somewhat reasonable, then I'm looking at MSC (and some other lines). That would be the first time in 12 years I'd be looking outside of RC, but they need to stay competitive with their pricing and offerings to hook me. My D+ status doesn't mean as much to them in recent years as their focus is clearly shifting towards onboard spend amounts and suites rather than loyal guests

    • @TheWeekendCruiser

      100% Tom and this is the main driver of why I started to look away. That and solo rates are 225% most of the time now.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the sailing, $400- $600 a weekend. It's impactful.

      @@TheWeekendCruiserWhere do you live, and where are you sailing from Ft. Lauderdale, Miami? What’s the best price you have paid so far outside? I’m living in SW France so I’d have to add on a R/T from Toulouse.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@francisbtube I live in Miami and cruise out of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral. A return international ticket is a tough one. I can find interiors on a weekend starting under $300 if looking in advance.

      @@TheWeekendCruiser your ship The Seasisde has a 3 night fare in the Mediterranean, starting at 180€ for a balcony forward, but it’s sailing from Genoa to Valencia so making 2 different connections makes it completely unpractical and too complicated.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser

      They are actually different builds or classes of ships. The designs are VERY different between Mergalvia and Seascape.

    Just saw your video. I've done about 110 cruises... have been cruising for more than 50 years, BUT never less than 7 days, and nowadays, I do some "side to side"..... so we'll probably never meet.
    Did the MSC Seascape last Feb 2023, and NEVER again. I'm foreign born, so I understand the "foreign mind" and can tell you that the American "way of meeting and making "friends" is quite different. In my country, one never deviated from being amongst those that your ancestors knew 400 years ago, So in MSC, I find a lot of "groups", especially family groups (w/ their children, grandchildren and ggrandchildren, who obviously/rightly so, not interested and would never "befriend" a solo cruiser. Having said this, MSC has had the best "SOLO" get together of the bunch! they had a "moderator" and free drinks to the group. Where you mentioned "being careful not to fall in the morning dew.... I took a splatter fall on here, and from then on, I'm super careful.
    BTW.... to prove they believe in couples/groups that already know each other, look at the stools at the bar (24.15min) and even there you see them already Paired off. The furnishings groupings amongst of their ships is meant for the already known people. etc etc...

    Your review is helpful but you did this 2 years ago. Wondering if the ship still looks clean.

      Look, you have to hear the feedback from everyone (good and bad) but at the end of the day, you get to set your mindset to determine if you will enjoy this cruise or not. If you go with the intention to save a good bit of money, have a great time, and enjoy Ocean Cay, you will do just that. I have asked many people on MSC and friends of mine about their experience to ensure I am providing quality info and not just my thoughts. Everyone has agreed it is a good experience and they would gladly do it again. For the price, I honestly feel like people owe it to themselves to try it and determine if it is a good fit.

    Do notice the majority of carpeting is one color (oftentimes very light white/beige) so after extensive use, they will be looking very dirty!

    Thank you for the thorough tour and commentary. The design and decor...too much going on for me. MSC can afford to undercut the other cruise lines, because they are a global shipping company. People will put up with loud announcements, and other inconveniences for the cheap fare.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  ปีที่แล้ว

      For the right price, I will put up with a lot! Luckily, I truly believe it is a decent cruise line and that they are not charging what they are worth. To your point, they have a HUGE backing with their shipping business and are privately held (no shareholders) giving them more opportunities to make their mark.

      Not on MSC. They do not allow any beverages. Other cruise lines will allow bottles of wine and mine allow liquor.

    While on Msc divina trip i was charged for drinks we didn’t even have. Someone gave our room number to the busy bartenders. We complained to MSc and it’s been over a year and haven’t heard anything from them. The punchline is, those drinks were included in the beverage package we had purchased. 😠

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I am reading this right, how does that even make sense that you had the drink package and were charged for drinks? Have seen this happen on other lines but they always step up and correct it.

    Well Done. Nice review. Although those MSC newer ships come off as a little glitzy or tacky to me. The other thing I hear about MSC is there is not much entertainment during the day. Such as Trivia Games in the Atrium and Game Shows. I hear the food has gotten better but There may not be any late night food offering last I heard. I just saw an article on my news feed yesterday on Why are MSC cruises so cheap. The answer is basically 1. They are trying to build market share. and 2 . The rooms are smaller and they can fit more people on the same size cruise ship as others. Well, with all that I would like to try them one time soon so they are affordable. Especially on on of your South Florida group cruises. It would be good if I could find a ship mate to not pay Double Occupancy. With giving you pertinent info like political bent it could work possibly. Later.

      Hey Jeffrey, I am certainly considering MSC for a quick group cruise! Not sure I am into playing match-maker for roommates but glad to start a forum for a sailing where you can get to know people :-)
