The baby birds look so cosy in their house that was so kind of you, l love the sewing machine l wish l had one too, thank you for sharing your day with us your place is very beautiful
If I could have just known him, or even one person even remotely like him, in my life, I truly think life would have been very different. I am just so thankful to be able to see him this way. Everything he touches is magical.
Great video, but I hate all the new ads YT is running... just too many. Your video was very well done, and enjoyable. Your dog has really grown up fast. Thanks for sharing.
How remarkable is that? You took that old sewing machine and created a thing of beauty. I love old things restored that become priceless antiques in time, that was fantastic to watch.
My late Mom, Elizabeth McNeill, was born about the same year that Treadle sewing machine was: 1900. When I was a child, she had an electric Singer sewing machine and taught my little sister and me how to use it. We ended up making most of our clothes, lots of doll clothes, and many of my daughter's little dresses, using all the techniques of "store-bought" items. Once, when we visited a friend of Mom's, the lady had a treadle machine and they tried to teach us how to use it. No matter how I got it going "frontwards", it always switched mid-seam and started going backwards! I decided to stick to Mom's electric Singer. This careful restoration brought happy memories and a few tears. Thank you Brucke, for these wonderful videos. I'm a subscribed fan of yours. Take care, be happy and healthy. :0) Donna Blackman, USA
i just love the old sewing machine n u restored it as good as new . really enjoy this video so much . so many things u can do with the sewing machine . great awesome jobs . look forward to a new videos pls . stay safe stay happy . arighato 😘👌👍😘
Brucke, thank you for sharing another beautiful vid, I am just home from an overnight shift, and watching your vlogs replenish my energy every time :) was wonderful to watch this, I still have the Singer treadle machine of my mother's that I learnt to sew on, we had my grandmother's as well, so I learnt to sew side by side with my mum back in the 70's.
What a delight these vlogs are to watch. Used to have a Singer treadle sewing machine, no electricity needed. Just treadle away with your feet. Great to watch Lamps doggie antics. Thankyou Brucke. Best wishes to you and Lamp.
We had a sewing machine almost similar but a few years advanced, but I remember my sisters having to push the circular ring to get the sewing needle to get started, oh yeah ours had a pedal so it was a bit advanced. Lol! Good ol’ days. That machine is amazing you have. ML&Aloha Your Boy Kekoa&Ohana 🌲🌾🌾🌾🌲 🌲🍶”Toast (Kampi) to your new home”!
Dear friend , beautiful sewing machine , i had one 40 years ago , too bad i gave it up . I wish you much joy with her . Best regards from Conny Braun and cat Felix from Germany.
Brucke, the very first sewing machine I learned to sew with was a “Singer with a treadle”. The machine is similar to the model you have; it belonged to my grandmother. I truly miss that machine, even though it didn’t perform all the stitches or button holes I later needed. The memories I really have are the hours that my grandmother spent with me learning to sew. My grandmother has been gone for many years now, but my early years of training will never be forgotten. I miss those simplistic days of life; I believe this is yet another reason why I enjoy your vlog. Blessings my friend and thank you for sharing this special opportunity today! 💝
I really love your vlogs...the garden is blooming...lovely babies in the birdhouse...playful lamp..& the sewing machine wow you are so organised meticulous & smart about everything i love it...the serenity & relaxing moment just watching you..been waiting & checking for your video everyday...nice background music😚
I also learned to sew on my Mother's Singer treadle sewing machine - business skirts and simple mini dresses I designed myself. I would buy the material Saturday morning and wear the dress out to dinner the same evening. I have enjoyed your cleaning and restoration of the antique machine very much.. Thank you
Reading the comments on this video & yes love what people have written - so true about the treadle sewing machine. I had one exactly like yours in a wooden stand with a lid. Sewed all my 3 sons nightwear & wee suits, moved to Australia when sons grew up & got rid of it. My sister-in-law has two which she still uses. Such initiative & wonderful home & lifestyle you have created for you & your two companions. Dog is very entertaining & I see he has his comforter, (wee blanket) I call that a 'wha a ki' Looking forward to seeing the completion of the alteration at the back of your home. So enjoy what you do daily - thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the video. Always enjoy very much. I have three treadles. All in working order and I do use. One is a Singer one is a White and can't remember what the other is. Fun to use. Love the sound they make and the fact that with a good needle, little oil and foot power it will sew on far longer than I will. Blessings.
Seventy years ago such a machine would have been considered a very old antique. Even my grandma who was born in 1888 would have thought it very old. Probably manufactured around 1900.
I bought an old Singer at the Scrap Yard some years ago. It is restored now and works well. I was interested to learn how old it was. The brass plate had a serial number. I googled Singer Manufactory Serial Number. It was made in Scotland Singer Factory in December 1919! Now 100 years old and still very good! My wife sews on it. Her mother had a similar one in Mexico City. Now we live in Finland in Europe.
Merci.
Be careful when"cleaning" antiques and check values first. Just thinking about the guy that cleaned one up and it's appraised value dropped from $850,000 to $3500. just sayin.
Shame what people do to these machines that can sew forever if taken care of. It has a nice intact set of decals. Be careful with the clear coat. You were buffing way too hard. Just wipe with a soft rag with sewing machine oil. If you break through the clear coat you will destroy the decals.

Very nice juxtaposition of old and new--restoring the old sewing machine and new life (baby birds and garden.) Lovely and serene and satisfying.

Show ...show....amei...👏👏👏👏
You made my day, with the treadle machine! I have maybe six or seven now. Oil it and clean it and it will sew. See Fiddleybits You Tube channel.
Teri Pittman, thank you for sharing 'Fiddleybits' channel, i's wonderful and I'm a newbie there now.
Amo seus vídeos Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
You’re very clever
It will do buttonholes, if you get a buttonholer attachment. And zigzag attachments work on the old machines. This likely takes Singer attachments.
Numero 1 !!!! Io sono un sarto e capisco ...... mi sono commosso......💪💪🇮🇹
Mi madre usó su máquina de pedales por muchos años luego cambió a una eléctrica pero aún recuerdo el sonido característico.
Lindo video gracias Brucke
