    I do like those land cruisers, good to see what other people do with them. I also have a rear drawer system in the back that converts into a bed with the back seats down, good idea 👍

    Thanks for doing this vid Theo, good to know the ins and outs and some good points raised on the vehicle. People are asking stupid prices for these in the UK and I can see why. There’s not too many kicking around that haven’t been abused or that are rusted out from our salted roads!

    Nice episode of The Untraveled Path Modified! I hope you will have nice adventures in it. We have a similar one for camping and touring. With OME suspension, but it is a 1997 3.4 petrol auto. You would not say that it is that old. In my case the rear springs are lower than I expected (2891's)

    Interesting video! I have a FJ, which I use for offroading; but it's a little bit expensive, and I don't want to damage its paint either. So, I was thinking about buying an older Prado or Landcruiser for harder tracks. Your videos are very useful for me since it shows capabilities and downsides of old Prados. The only thing would be to see if their engine and other important parts last like 80 or 100 series or not. I'd appreciate if you can give me any kind of suggestions. Cheers.

      Thank you for the comment. The Diesel engines in the 80 series and 100 series are arguably some of the best engines Toyota has ever made. The engines in the Prado aren't as powerful but will also last for a very long time. If well maintained they can go for upwards of 550k km. They do have some issues with their head gaskets but it is only when the car has been overheated.
      As far as your though goes for tough tracks. Underneath, the FJ cruiser is essentially the same vehicle with the 120 series Prado. Therefore, they have very similar capabilities. if I wanted a truck to have fun on the tougher trails I would go for an 80 series land cruiser. The 100 series in my opinion is way to big and heavy, it also has independent front suspension which doesn't help.
      if you want something cheaper than an 80 as they are expensive now I would look into a 4.0L Jeep Cherokee (XJ) any Land Rover before 1998, a TJ Wrangler or a Nissan Patrol. These are the most capable 4x4s that won't cost a fortune.

    How is diesel priced in your country? Filling my 95 tank is around 120€, so i had to get another more economical car

      It is 1.85 euros per L. They are expensive to run these days!

    Haven’t heard how much inches the OME raised the truck. 2 or 2.5 inches?

    The landcruiser you buy when you can't afford a landcruiser still good tho

    • @TheUntraveledPath
      @TheUntraveledPath  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it's not the only reason but it is certainly cheaper and not as capable

      When compared to an 80 Land Cruiser. In between this and a 100 I would take this. The 100 not onlis ifs but it is also huge. They aren't all that great off road those vehicles
