XP ORX beach settings, a tip from Gary Blackwell, and an amazing ring return!

I decided to try to help someone out by using my detector to try to find a lost wedding band. I'm not a great beach detectorist, and I've only been a few times, but I learned some new tips that I'll be sharing in this video. I also met some new friends and I witnessed a super-rare ring being returned to its grateful owner. As usual I lost my garden gnome again. After he jumps out of my backpack, he taunts me two more times in this video. Can you spot him?

yea i was trying out alot of settings on mine the 2 beaches i had my orx at was not to mineralized but i have some hot beaches i need to take it to to learn it more on hot beaches

Thanks for watching. On most beaches, you might not have to go as high as 5, but it was definitely necessary on that hot beach. I'm anxious to try it on some troublesome fields.

You may not have found the ring, but at least you didn't get rabies from that raccoon... Raccoons and skunks are the most common hosts for rabies. Dangerous feeding them. 👎 I'm thinking of getting an ORX as a backup and secondary detector primarily for beach hunting, what's your opinion?

Sorry for the late reply. Actually I think I remember answering this, but it must not have posted. Anyway, the ORX is excellent on land or freshwater, but struggles a bit in saltwater. It is manageable with the right settings, but there's better machines such as the DĒUS II. That is just hearsay however, as I haven't yet taken my D2 to a saltwater beach. Hope that helps 😎👍
