The Isle of Man TT is the ultimate test of skill and bravery for a bike racer and this awesome lap featuring TT star privateer Horst Saiger and road racing and TV celebrity Guy Martin as they duelled in the TT 2017 qualifying session says it all!

Best commentary I've heard. He's funny and serious at the same time. The other guys give you a hint to the danger. Horst is so descriptive and articulate that I have a new respect for these riders.

For sure, these bikes are arguably way to fast for a road race that was started back when fast bikes were very slow in comparison. The condition of many parts are so bad with bumps/undulations and man holes and more, these guys are heros, full on respect.

A lot of people that have never been on a motorcycle before might think that this isn't that difficult. As a kid I started racing motocross thinking that it wouldn't be exhausting or difficult at all... I was very surprised when I couldn't handle the throttle with care anymore because of arm pump after just one lap.

Granted these guys know and study every corner of the track but still you gotta be wired differently than the rest of us to be able to do this.

Precisely what I was about to say. Marc Flynn did a similar commentary on a 600 a few years ago (thinking about it, it was 15+ years ago, as I hid it on video tape) which was very similar in delivery and information.

Now near 70 I have had a career of racing from karts to GTP and from the old SS/BA days to a short stint in AA/FC and now ending with grudge match racing. I've ridden mostly Honda on two wheels and now nearing a million miles riding for pleasure on some fast crotch rockets. I 've been lucky and I've broken bones. The guys you see in these vids about the TT are simply batshit crazy! Must be something in the water there because the spectators are just as batshit nuts as the riders.

I love that quote!! Its a great philosophy. I could just imagine him saying - "its no problem if your arm falls off/if you run into a cows rear end/if a large tree falls on you, coz you are on full throttle".

This is not surprising, shaking is a problem when off the gas, as it's putting pressure on the front tire. Acceleration is one way to escape head wobble.

That was one of the best commentaries I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. To couple it to a lap of the TT course was even better. To have the awesome video as well was out of this world!!! I will be watching this over and over. Ta muchly Horst! Be looking out for you this year.
A very humble and educational commentry but no need to be humble 90% of us so called bikers could not do whay you are doing and to keep pace with Mr Martin

Thank you Horst. I visited the IOM from 1981 to 1990 then sadly had to give up bikes for a mortgage and family. This video has taken me back to my younger days when life was much simpler. Just wish I could get back there but riding with you and your excellent commentary helped a lot. Thanks again, and MASSIVE respect to you.

Amazing, especially when you have ridden the circuit yourself and have to stick to 30 mph in some places and these bikes go through Kirk Michael at warp speed! Great video and commentary.

Simple, clear and concise commentary on what looked like a masterclass in bike handling... all of which made for superb viewing!
And one off the "good" guys in the paddock always got time for the fans even a bottle of beer and a "chat" on anything bikes a true gentleman racer.

I've watched loads of on-board footage but this was excellent - coupled with the insightful commentary taking it to another level. Great use of your camera's 360 degree shots too with excellent timing. Not too shabby :)
