Just did Thunder Mountain yesterday, after looking at it from Iron Mountain and deciding it wouldn’t be too difficult or timely to do. Sort of thought about doing Lulu too but I didn’t want to push time too much. Fun day though. I look forward to coming back soon to climb Lulu. Thanks for the video
Such a gorgeous, amazing hike to watch and I'm so very envious that you two saw so many moose in a single hike! Thank you for sharing, because as always, it's so nice to relax with a virtual hike after a long day of work haha. Looking forward to your next shared video!
I'm doing Lulu next week. Wow there's sort of a trail to the top after all! I was expecting a sketchy mess like Nokhu Crags, which I hope to do next year once I have more scrambling experience. Lulu looks as friendly as her name sounds. I'm really looking forward to this!
Its a great area! If you want to do more you can always out and back the Electrode from Thunder Pass. Its pretty cool. I think I am going back to that area in a few days to do Iron Mountain again. Its good too.
Judging by the similar tents I would say the group was likely an outdoor program for teens. A few groups like that have been utilizing the area recently. We bring small groups of CSU students up here once or twice a year to backpack.
Ptarmigans! What's the craziest wildlife you've seen in Northern Colorado? My friend saw a Yellowstone wolf in the hills west of Walden and a lynx in RMNP near Mummy Pass.
Wow! I have never seen a wolf or a lynx but I have seen bears, a bobcat and mountain lions before. I saw a mountain lion just last week driving through RMNP near Many Parks Curve.
Hello Nick: Your #1 Tennessee Fans checking in. That was a beautiful hike. You had awesome views. On this hike you seemed to be less "scared" of the Moose.. Do you respect them more during certain seasons? I agree with you on the wildflowers.. Gorgeous shots of it. Laughed at Chris' comments on the PLLs.. :) We had two questions for you: Is there any particular weather website that you check on for the weather in the mountains? The second question is: We will be there in just little over a week: Do we need to get spikes or is it pretty unlikely to come across big fields of snow to traverse? Thank you for being our fountain of info! We appreciate you so much! Your #1 TN Fans T&S
I was weary of the moose for sure, but we needed to get by so I went for it. I felt safer because it was more in the open and there were plenty of objects I could hide behind. Its different than running into one on a narrow trail. Sometimes there is no where to go. I just use the weather app on my phone. Its garbage. For example it said today was clear but we got rained on anyway! Lol. You just gotta go for it sometimes and take what you are given. I dont think you will need your spikes. I mean it did just snow a few days ago and they closed Trail Ridge Road and it could happen again. Id bring them on the trip because you never know. But id say there is 99% chance you wont need them.
Another Great one brother. So detailed. Im taking another trip to Estes Park in October. Is there any easier hikes with nice views outside of RMNP? Went to Dream and Emerald while snowing months back. It was amazing but kind of tough. Keep up the good work. You guys have been everywhere. ✌
Thanks! There are lots of good hikes outside of the park. I like Mt Olympus, Prospect Mtn or Lily Mtn. Those are all shorter hikes but have some significant gain. For a slightly longer one Id recommend Twin Sisters.
@@nicksangetta8874 Thanks Nick I will be staying in estes park again. I will be sure to look those hikes up. Looking for something easier for the old lady lol. I envy you man, you have seen all the amazing sights there. Great stuff
@@HAVOKWREAKS Something easy is walking around Lake Estes. Its paved and flat. Also, going around Lily Lake is awesome too. Lily has some trails that branch off if you want to add a little extra but overall its very easy compared to the mountains I suggested. Those go straight up. One last one that may be good is Bridal Veil Falls from the Cow Creek TH.
Ive seen bears 3x on hikes. On Crosier Mountain, Fairchild Mountain and the Fourth of July Trail. Ive also caught a bear on video on Signal Mountain and didnt realize until later. And lastly saw one just recently on the Fourth of July Road near the Hessie Trailhead.. I think I found a bear tooth too. Its coming up in a video soon!
I'm really glad you are keeping the channel going!
Wow! As always, thank you for sharing! What views!!!!
I need to try and get back out to this area before too much more snow flies. Nice hike. Great views.
So beautiful!

Some views almost look like distant sand-dune mountains... Love it.

I saw you on Lulu in July 2020. You gave a card to one of my fellow hikers. Such a beautiful area to see. First mountain I ever climbed.
I remember! Glad you climbed it. Such a cool area. :)

LOVE how you "name the peaks"! Thanks Nick :)
What a nice day and beautiful views. That bird was really pretty. Always fun to see what animals you encounter :)
I love seeing the Ptarmigans up on the rocky tops of mountains! So cool. Thanks for watching, Heather.
Beautiful as always. Thanks for naming the oeaks. More info on directions would be nice.

this makes me want to see an entire video narrated by Chris!
I literally laughed every time I had to go through that scene while editing. Which was about 30 times probably 😂🤣

@@nicksangetta8874Thanks man. I checked out estes lake. Nice but not much I will look into the ones you listed
how often do you see brown bears on your hikes?

I always enjoy a few well placed F bombs, thank you! Bulls galore! Moose capital of Colorado up there after all...
Sweaty palms as I view the steep decline....
