I never planned on making a volume 2 of my Vintage/Classic soundset but over the last couple years i've come to know the Prophet 6 even more intimately and found myself creating vintage type sounds that are arguably warmer and more organic than any patches i've made previously so volume 2 quite simply had to happen..... Any questions just ask.
Carl, Hopefully in about 2 months which is roughly the amount of time it's going to for me to start and finish Vintage/Classic volume 2 for the OB-6 :)
I've had the Pro6 for more than 3 years now and these are hands down the best patches made for it. Amazing diversity. Really showing the depth of the instrument. From Moogish, OBesque to CSEightyish and of course Prophetal! Brilliant work Mr Luke!
These sounds are so damn good . Have to comment on this again . I’ve been listening to all the Moog One synths , they sound great. But deep down I still feel these sounds are IMO better to my ears 👂 I feel they should have hired you as a sound designer 👨🎨 to promo their synth. I swear I’m going to contact their team and tell them to get you working on that thing cuz it’s calling your name “ LUKKKKEEEEY BOIII”
I feel the same way. Moog has all these sound designer nerds but no musicians?!? Idk I actually played my p6 with the waveforms of the moog one and honestly felt the p6 held up. Maybe the p6 doesn't have as many features but it's a great tool for expressive playing
I saw a video comment recently of someone saying you can really coax out those vintage P5 type sounds by backing off the osc levels in the mixer section as to not drive them. Was that technique employed for these? I haven’t heard any other patch banks that sound as good as these!
I own an OB-6 which I love dearly and have almost saved enough for a P6. I thought about going back to a P600 but this video has convinced me to save more for the 6 :)
@@HorrorCue IMHO, it definitely sounds like the P6 is not overdriving the Osc section and/or Amp section. All the patches in this soundset have 95% of the P5 creamy mojo, while his first set of patches for the P6 are 85% of the P5 creamy mojo (which is still fantastic!). That's just my opinion...only Luke could confirm whether or not he backed off on the oscillators & amp for all these patches.
@@lukeneptune3820 what a great sound design! i have a question..i own supernova2,roland mks80,alesin ion and some great vsts (repro5,the legend,dune3,uvi synthox and px v8)...i was thinking to buy a new synth and i concluded to summit or prophet 6.Do you find that prophet 6 or summit will give me a different flavour,something more than the synths i already own?i feel that only prophet 6 may be able for this..ami wrong?can mks80 give me prophet 6 rich ,warm organic sound?
There's just something about the sound of this that makes me want to buy it. For me it has the edge on the OB, but obviously it's subjective. I just can't justify spending all that money on it with my very limited knowledge of synthesis. Must switch off....must resist
How do I load these into my P6. I’ve got to have volume one and two. Immediately. Can someone list step by step how I buy these then load them into my prophet? Thank you! Also need these sounds for my OB 6
Absolutely, has all the features I’d ever dream of and some more . I’m still waiting to hear more of it. I want to hear just a raw basic oscillator. It sounds more sub 37 than anything , and there aren’t many “GREAT” demos yet , but some of them are breathtaking . I’m still very happy with my prophet 6, I still am going to be getting an ob6 and perhaps a Moog One!
Great soundscapes can be created with these amazing sounds holy smokes. @luke between the OB 6 and the Prophet 6 which did you find most enjoyable programming? If given the choice as your only poly synth, which of the two would you choose from a sound design as well as musical stand point? Anyone can chime in as well thank you.

They sound very nice! Very big VCO like, and alive! Do you use any of the built in effects to create any of these patches?

I was curious if these sound sets would also work on a prophet 10?

I ever so slightly prefer the Prophet 6. It has a wider sound pallet and has an organic quality to it's sound that i really love.
As one who does hip hop rnb jazz Inspired music I was leaning towards the prophet 6 myself. Thanks for the input!!
MrMassproduce201 for those styles you just mentioned deffo go P6. It has that soulful, liquid like vibe to it.
