12 out of 14, maybe 13. No lineup. It wasn't clear what the VAR review was on the PK (DOGSO red maybe?), but since it didn't change the call my grade might be harsh.
I watched the game; I think they were trying to see if there actually was contact or not. Love the grading that you've been doing 😂
Weird to see some players congratulate their teammates when they score, but not others when they score...ijs

I can’t remember exactly, other than a foul. Going to have to wait 3 days before the full replay is up on NWSL+ to check. It was in the first 4 minutes, so I really can’t remember.

Only her third game. Got injured in first game and played her second game as a sub last week

Giraldez is trying to implement his Game Idea (the one he had at Barcelona FC). Laterals in Long and well Open by the Lanes, use a Diamond in the Three-Quarter Zone, use High Pressure, Long Possessions with Overturned Lines in Zone Two, Timing and be Vertical (when the rival leaves spaces); implement Fast Withdrawals and with Tactical Order. Your Plan is barely under construction. But it requires at least 6 more months to fully develop it. The most complicated thing will be to include Rupture Demarcations and millimetric Percussions towards Zone 14.
I understand that Bay is a new team and under construction. But it still has many defects, especially it lengthens the lines and tends to fracture. Time will tell if he can improve but he is having a decent campaign, considering that he has weak Automations given the short time he has been working with his Trainer.
Defense Spirit needs attention.. very sloppy in this game. d

Well, it's hardly obvious, dear Erwin: Coach Jonatan has only been training for a month, that's why the anchor defenders and midfielders move nervously (so as NOT to look bad in front of their boss). The different sequences of the Technical Director are just being automated: the Distribution of Spaces, Supports, Backups, Staggering and Exchanges.
Surely in the “rest” that will remain in the Olympic Games, Giraldez will try to define when the Tilt-Ups should be done and when the Zonal Pressing should be executed. This DNA must “adapt” according to the qualities of the available players and they must “memorize” the Automatics.
For the rest, Giraldez loves to do Latin-style football control and that is why he preferred to hire the Colombian Leicy Santos who can give him those connections in the Coverage Line so that the circuit between Transitions works like a “Swiss clock”.
That guy (Jonatan) likes to have very rigorous Military Type Training, in order to have a very extensive Tactical Tool Kit. Fortunately, the players respect him and would be capable of going to hell to train if necessary. Rest assured, their loyalty to their Boss will be absolute.
In my personal opinion, in the year 2025 the Washington Spirit is going to mercilessly crush all its rivals. Jonatan Giraldez is a student of soccer and likes to take players to the highest level of perfection.

The possible nervousness could be a factor indeed. Looked akward though. Not used to that from their backline.

Thank you very much! I have never questioned your comment at any time. ʘ What I wanted to say (and I must clarify it) is that for the players it must be very intimidating to have a new Coach who comes to work with a very large Staff (Assistants): at least there must be a Coach for Set Piece Actions, a Coach for Defensive Transitions, a Coach for Offensive Transitions, a Coach to amalgamate the Tactical aspects, one or two Video Analysts, a Big Data Analyst, a Goalkeeping Coach and if we add to that, the Nutritionist, the Physiotherapist, the Physical Trainer, a Sports Medicine Expert Doctor, a Cardiologist Doctor, etc., because behind Giraldez there will be at least 15 people (Multidisciplinary Team) working day and night.
This guy (Jona) is used to “polishing” even the smallest details (there's a reason he's the best Technical Director of Women's Soccer on planet Earth) and he wants to turn the Washington Spirit into an authentic Masterclass Military Battalion, something like a kind of Delta Force or Special Operations Force within a playing field.
