Love your channel so well done. Ive watched each one a couple of times. Please come up with new stories. Your very good at it. I was born in SLC in 1961 my whole family is from Utah. My grandmother was a waitress at hotel Utah served many Presidents. My Uncle Rex was a newscaster for KSL radio. We moved to California when i was 6 been back a few times. There is something so comforting about Salt Lake and Utah. My dad grew up in Sugar House could here the firing squad at the prison. Thank you for your time of putting these amazing stories together.

I definitely have many more in the works. Some of the powers that be don’t want some of the history shared. But trying my best!

I went to Highland HS and didn't even hear about the prison till i was in my 20's.
Even though i used to "walk the yard" twice a day.. to and from school. Great video,Sir!

History of the Provo Asylum would make for a cool video. Future ideas.

It was a beautiful building...wish it had been made into a museum instead of demolished

Driving past Sugarhouse park in 1980 something with my Mom turns to me and says “My sister and I used to dance for the prisoners when the prison was here” I turned my head and said what?!! I remember her smirking as I’m sure I pelted her with silly questions. Thanks for sparking that memory for me! 😊

I knew there was a prison there once because of a sign. I didn't know this much about it. Thank you it was fun to learn more about my city.

Where do you get your footage from?

    • @historyunexplored5312

It depends on the video, is there a particular kind of footage you’re referring too?

Could you do one on the McCune Mansion? My grandparents lived there as caregivers for the school for 10 years between 1945 and 1955ish. And my mom lived there with them for a while while she worked at Hill Air Force Base and my dad was stationed in New Caledonia in the South Pacific.

Every year on November 19th I think about Joe Hill who was wrongly convicted and subsequently executed at the prison in 1915. I have a question. Does anyone know the location of the blacksmith shop or the prison graveyard? I pretty much lived at sugar house park as a kid and never realized it had been a prison.
