Each and every melody in this waltz is hauntingly beautiful! 3:50 is obviously inspired by/reminiscent of Johann's "Mephistos Hollenrufe, Op. 101." I particularly like waltz 1A, and the melody at 5:53!
I am. listening to a Sherlock Holmes story. Eduard Strauss visits Holmes and Watson and discovers Holmes' Stradivari. He then plays Wiener Blut by his brother and holmes plays this particualr piece. I was struggling with very bad feelings for two days. Now for the first time they are gone.
