Big risks the democrats are taking with no voter research from primaries. Trump has some good odds with the rut the Democrats put them in by forcing Biden out
Just putting this here for the people who don't know how the Presidential nomination process works: When you vote in the primaries you are voting for the delegates in your congressional district, not the candidates themselves. To win a nomination, a Republican candidate needs the votes of at least 1,200 delegates and a Democratic candidate needs at least 2,300. When Biden dropped out, all 4,000 of his delegates immediately became free agents. This means they were free to vote whomever Democratic candidate they wished. In other words, Kamala was NOT automatically appointed like most people think she was. She had to earn the votes of at least 2,300 delegates to win nomination. And since no Democratic challenger stepped up, and a majority of her party immediately endorsed her, a large majority of those free agents decided to side with her (according to the wishes of those who voted for them in their congressional districts). Also, there is no need for another round of primaries. If you're a Democrat and you voted for Joe Biden, that also means you are automatically okay with whomever VP Biden picks, and you are okay for that VP to take over nomination in case Biden drops out. This isn't exclusive to the Democratic party. Trump won nomination because he secured at least 1,200 Republican delegates. If Trumo dropped the race, those delegates can either choose to vote for JD Vance or somebody else. Got it?
Why would they be? Literally everyone stepped aside and nobody challenged her to run. If someone wanted it that badly, enough to be "sore" about it, they could have just as easily mounted a challenge campaign, not that anyone really had the time or resources to. The party has unified around her as their nominee.
Not voting for her. She didnt earn my vote, people did not choose her. Her record is what made her tuck tail and run in 2020, hasn't changed. Open convention would have been real democracy. We deserved to choose who takes place of Biden as the one who can best take on Trump.
Nobody had the backing, funding, or ready-made campaign organization to run against her campaign (Biden/Harris; now just Harris, but already in place campaign, funding, infrastructure, advisers, etc.). It is what it is. Expedient, practical, but also, IMO, quite palatable from a continuity standpoint. But she's also great to listen to, energetic, smart, and I'm sure she'll do well as President. :)
Sitting out is not an option, unless you want a Trump presidency and the absolute swampy garbage that'll bring, along with the potential end of Democracy itself if Project 2025 gets implemented. So, sack up, hold your nose if you have to, and vote Blue. Stop being a damn whiner, and get it done...
I mean yeah border crossings are literally DOWN. I don't get how it's so hard to comprehend that trump is the one who blocked a bill to control the borders. A very harsh bill that even the most conservative republicans were ready to back. It's clear to anyone with half a brain that trump doesn't care about the border, he wants to keep using it as a dog whistle for racist idiots. Sadly it works.

Tell us you don't understand the DNC without telling us you don't understand the DNC. Go back to civics class, and pay attention this time. DNC delegates are the ones who vote on the nominee and put them on the ticket. We don't vote until the general election. Yes, we make a non-binding informational vote in Primaries, but inevitably it is DNC electors who actually cast the votes that **matter** in selecting the nominee. They may take the advice of Primary votes on who they find popular, but they are not required to necessarily vote strictly along "popular vote" lines.
@mario32 that could be another reason for her giving more time by not saying "that's it, I'm chosen". She remained graceful and patient. However, the trajectory of the polls show that she is well supported and well received by the party.

Your knowledge of US history is sorely lacking. The modern party and primary system did not exist until the last half of the 20th century, so MOST US Presidents became the nominee of their party without a single statewide "vote"
It's important to remember that the presidential nomination process can be complex and involves multiple factors, including party rules, delegate votes, public support and the decision-making of party leadership. Kamala went through a rigorous process during her own nomination for Vice President.
The DNC has completely ignored a democratic selection of its candidacy for years. Why start now? This is just easier. Just let the rich & powerful select all our candidates forever. Yay democracy
