She didn't poison her husband and was forced to marry the person who ruined her life. The new FL has rose tented glasses and hindsight, she has no familial or nationalistic attachment like the OG. Sure she could've ignored her past and lived well with the duke, but she had a reasonable reason to hate him. It doesn't matter if he loved her, she didn't return the feeling.
i wouldnt call her evil, more, myopic, "make the best of a bad situation, it may turn into a good situation" had she not specifically blamed him and spent her time being nasty and enraged/hurt/etc, she may have noticed he wasnt a bad person, infact, he genuinely cared the whole time, and having seen other sources, somebody set her up to look like she actually did cheat, fcked up shit... now, her best move would have been to actually try and be on good terms with people even if she wasnt happy about it, that could have allowed her to send if not money, stuff her old home needed to get back on its feet, there are historic examples stories like this are based on, and those who made the best of a "bad" situation tended to live longer and be happier, those who didnt often ended up either dead or locked up someplace away from people long term... :/ and i know a couple who sort-of-lived this, not countries but companies, both parents companies were in trouble and to solidify the partnership the 2 were not so much forced as pressured into marriage(asian family crap), she was pissed at him for it at first, horrific to be around by her own account... but after she fell down the stairs having a tantrum and broke his collar bone as he caught her and they both hit the floor... (she would have 100% broken something, the look when she talks about it is proof she knows that fact, i mean her 95lb arse broke his collar bone and hes a big guy.. with no bone issues.. heh...)... he was so hurt for the first week he couldnt wipe his own arse... but he kept making her breakfast and insisting on doing husbandly thigs like taking out the trash.. she eventually had to make him stop, and ask why he caught her when she was so mean and nasty to him.. when he said he understood why she was unhappy, but was hoping she would start to see, it wasnt so bad, it got them both away from their families, and, when she wasnt being a cnut, he genuinely found her cute..(she is, her attitude was just horseshite by her own acct)... one night he woke up to her snuggled up against him in her underwear... she had resentment due to her parents, she had somebody she was dating but later found out he was cheating on her and was taking that out on her husband, the fact the 2 parents companies had been competitors for years also had her a bit too invested in that.. she didnt realize the parents had been friends all that time, and both sets realized, semi-merging operations would save them alot of money and allow them to re-structure to use eachother as supplies for around 30% of their need, and connections from eachother to get costs down on the rest... also that he found her cute when they first met before she realized who he was... girl didnt need a change of soul to realize.. "aww shit hes a good dude", when they both realized they were glad to have a very valid reason to live far from their parents... both had to let that really sink in... 14mo later im helping them unload their 3 cargo containers of shit they shipped over after buying a house and 187.xx acres of land... and shocked his wife has the most brit accent i have ever heard, like posh brit.. she learned english from... BBC tv shows mostly, the kind of stuff we got on PBS here... also... the house staff they had over there got help from his family coming over, the are not wealthy mind you, but over there you can hire live in staff stupid cheap, here they get their rent for doing housework/yardwork, and keep most of their pay, kicking in on bills, food, etc... had they not taken the time to bring them along they would have ended up back in bad situations looking for work that offered housing to avoid moving back in with families who had too many kids in the house still... i kid you not.. "john" looks like somebody turned short-round into a fucking late teen/early adult... LOL the girl ended up married to a friend of ours from our HS days who came back home to find his ex burned his house and barn down when he was deployed.. he wasnt even told she went to prison for arson and killing the animals that were in the barn(gal who lived down the road was taking care of them and it was a nasty winter night with possible freezing rain so she got them locked up in the barn with the barn heaters on.. then this woman burned it all with the animals inside.. the cat and dog got away because they went out the doggie door in the bakc of the house and hid under a truck... the woman stood there till the cops and fire dept showed up and didnt even try and pretend she didnt do it, she felt justified and said such in court.. he caught her cheating with a SGT on his base divorced her and caused that fellow to endup with a disshonorable after it came out how many peoples wives the man was tapping... host f-ed up.. anyway, he had no home but our friend group had offers and my buddies wife saw his post on her husbands page and asked if that was the fellow he mentioned so often in stories that she had not met yet... then told him to offer him one of their extra rooms, and the moment buddy saw the girl, he was smitten... took her seeing him with his top off for her to "omg hes hot"... LOL (she likes harry men.. dude looks like the rock wearing a shag sweater without a shirt on.. LOL... ) eventually after clearing up the situation and making sure it was ok to ask her out(and legal..), well her english was so-so at best and.. got better fast.. they kept falling asleep studying on his bed.. i mean genuinely studying most of the time we would find them foot ot head clearly having died during a conversation... oh and he learned her native lang and the most used lang from her home country from her.. its a weird mashup of asian langs and..Dutch with abit of Portuguese and Spanish from all the sailors who came back in the day... (i mean what they speak where the "kids" grew up...) they honestly call it the ebonics of their countries native tung :P i do agree with you though... i do also think when she realized shit sucked and her actions were not helping her achieve anything... a change of tactics was in order... she wouldnt have died the first time... even if she didnt endup "in love" with him, but just, somebody who he liked, trusted and had no resentment for... i have watched people do shit like this to themselves at work though as well, mad about a change, of dept, manger, or just any sort of change.. and they turn all pissy and sour and feel like the victim.. and keep turning themselves into a vicitim,often of their own actions more then other people... i feel for her but also... hope shes watching her replacement and thinking "aww shit, i could have had a much better life"
Absolutely true. We've never seen the husband try and understand the ogfl, and everything he's done since their marriage doesn't seem like the actions of someone who truly loved her, instead it seems more like lust, constrained by his warped vision of what love should be.
It is a trend in these stories that the character is "an evil wife" if she is unhappy in the relationship. Regardless of how much her backstory justifies her being so. 😔 (Would have preferred if this story had focused on how a modern singer would survive/thrive in an alternate universe with different musical trends/instruments/musical-training. The fact the the reincarnated girl had zero issues in adapting to the music of such a different world is quite disappointing..)

Real life reason: the story would be short. In universe: reason they're too obsessed with the male lead and the female lead's original fate, some would gladly die for it.
It makes me frustrated also, I mean, the FL has got that guy in her hands so badly, that she has changed the story. She gots to think that if she actually loved him, instead of toying him along, then no one would question the poisoning, and actually point the finger at the true villian.

I got interested in romance manhwas because most of their stories were unique unlike most of the action genre which got so predictable and repetitive that the main characters know what is going to happen next and prepare for it.
