It’s fascinating to see this has three of the tools from the medical SAK - the tracheotomy blade, pharmacy spoon and the “orange peeler” aka medicine bottle opener.
Given it's slimness, I think this would be a good choice for carrying in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans. Or indeed, a waistcoat pocket if you have to wear such a thing for some reason like a wedding or something ( or if you just like wearing one lol ). You could even use a watch chain on it to make sure it's secure.
The Alox Mini Champ is a dandy little keychain SAK, even ok for 5th pocket carry. I also have this one on my wishlist. 😁 Thanks for sharing, take care and Cheers!
Love the Alox knives, however, there’s a few extra tools on this one that I’m not sure I’d find useful. For me, the 58mm is a key chain knife, so I find the classic SD does most of what I need. Do like the Rambler though with the better layout and extra tools (on my “to buy list”) Fantastic review Matt, thanks for putting this one out there 😎👍🏻
Hey Matt 👊 It clearly has the most options. However, for me, it's not the best value SAK keychain - thats the Rambler 😉 Especially, when it's under half the price and all you really need, for EDC 👌 I still have quite a few Victorinox, that are still awaiting review, including this puppy - coming soon... Be well buddy and thanks for sharing, Atb Gus 👍
Thank you Matt your gentleman and a scholar. I’m really enjoying your SAK videos my prize possession is my dads SAK knife this is a knife I’m definitely going to buy soon I’m really excited about it THANK YOU BUDDY 😊
Agree the Mini Champ is "better" (more versatile) than the SD Classic or Signature (same tool set as the SD Classic, but has a retractable ink pen instead of the toothpick. The tweezers can be replaced with the toothpick.) . However, I think the standard Cellidor version is the better "Bang For The Buck". Same tool set, plus the side Tweezers (or can be swapped for a toothpick) and retractable ink pen side tools. NONE of the ALOX models have any side tools. The pen on the Signature I carried for 20 odd years before I retired "saved my bacon" several times when my primary pen died or I forgot to bring a pen. The pen on the red cellidor Mini Champ I traded into after retiring has come in handy a couple times. (I swapped the weak grip Victorinox tweezers on both the Signature and Mini Champ for the more useful multi-purpose toothpick. The toothpick will also mix, and apply a small amount of epoxy glue or super glue, for example. MOST epoxy glues will not stick to the toothpick, by the way.) The ALOX models are also more costly. In over 60 years of carrying a Victorinox or Wenger with cellidor covers/sides, I've never had one (or more) break or fall off. NO! My SAK's were dropped over the decades on hard floors and concrete, not just soft grass/dirt/sand/carpeting.
Thanks for all the information Steve! I'm also yet to have any fall apart! The only issue I had was on the silver tech as the plastic is a bit more brittle 😂
I once heared that some of the Tools of the minichamp are leftovers from Front OPtools Like: Skalpell, dosage spoon for powders, etc. Greats from Germany

That’s not a cuticle pusher that came from the original medical knife, and it was used for dishing out drugs, powdered drugs
Awesome
